They attempted to overcharge me by double for contracted in-house labor, they created an estimate and sketch without putting all of the correct cost for materials. Then when I asked for a copy of the entire estimate they try to strong-arm you into paying a $500 deposit and signing a workorder. My wife and I purchased carpet here for 3 of our bedrooms and the master closet back in late December 2021 because we'd purchased flooring for our basement a few years ago and were very happy with that experience (unlike the carpet, I did not have the basement flooring installed by carpetwise). The owner, Sam, sat down with the two of us and took the time to run us through carpet and padding options to help us get the best bang for our buck. Then he helped us schedule the installations with a few days in between the different rooms so I had time to clear out each room, which helped me save even more money. The installations were smooth and quick, each time being done in less than half a day. The new carpet looks beautiful and feels absolutely amazing, so much nicer than the original carpet the builders had installed. I recently had the experience of buying new carpet for my house from this company Carpet Wise- after 8 months the carpet i had bought and installed is worn and frazzling- I requested they come look at it and tell me what could be done, fearing that over even a little more time the carpet will be no good. Dillion came out took pictures and told me he would get back to me in 1-2 days and but did not return a call for 5 days - at that time he told me that the Carpet Wise could do nothing but there was a warranty (Dream Weavers carpet) but it was with the carpet manufacturer and he would file a report with them for me. He did and 4 days later he sent me an email with a letter from them showing what the response was, which of coarse was refusal to deal with it without even looking at it. He did not call me to discuss what else could be done or how they could possibly help me. He seemed to have passed the buck from his company to the manufacturer, taking no responsibility for the product he sells. I feel like i have been ripped off and would recommend no one buy carpet from this company here in Longmont or the Dream Weavers products. read more

Prepaid 12/27. Material expected to be delivered to Carpet Wise 01/02 or 01/03. Did not receive a phone call when it did not come in as expected. Installation scheduled for Tuesday 1/10 during afternoon. Received a call shortly after 11AM on 01/10 that material had not arrived and they did not know when it would arrive. CW called back on 01/10 assuring me floor would be delivered 01/11 and scheduled installation for 9-10AM on 01/12. Material did not arrive 01/11, did not receive a phone call. Installation on 01/12 came and went, NO PHONE CALL. I called at 11AM and they said the installer was at my house... Which he was not, so they said they would call back again. Finally got a call back from the owner (Sam) who said the material had just arrived (10 days late) and the installer would be over shortly (47 hours late of the Tuesday 1PM, 3 hours late of the 9:30 Thursday reschedule...). I called and spoke with Brian and asked about a partial refund. He said he would speak with Sam and (YOU GUESSED IT) NO ONE CALLED ME BACK! Next Dillon called and asked if my install went well - I explained some minor workmanship issued (lifetime installation warranty) and the delay in installation (crickets). I could have gone to Lumber Liquidators and got a better price for the same quality of service. read more

When you receive your bid , go to the show room and make sure they have written the correct code down for what you want. Everything else was ok, masks on, etc. But the color of flooring is not what I wanted. To be fair they offered to replace the product and I would have to pay labor, but I cannot stay away from my house any longer. I am really heart sick and disappointed in the flooring. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. We originally hired Carpet Wise / Christian Brothers from Home Advisors to do a finish on our 500 sq ft basement last September. They were advertising this as one of their services. After discussions, their original timeframe was 6 weeks to finish it, which is a reasonable time frame for a project this size. The Christian Brothers team was an absolute disaster, so Sam at Carpet Wise "took over" our job. While Sam was very reassuring at the beginning that he could get this project back on track, very little of our project has gone as promised since. Permitting and inspections were a mess (no one knew what to do), estimating, scheduling and management of the job have been inept, and we've been assigned 3 different "general contractors" to manage this little job. We are now 6 MONTHS into this basement finish, and are STILL not done. Communication is absolutely terrible, timelines are rarely met, and we have to initiate nearly all communication with them to find out what's going on. It's like pulling teeth to try and get straight forward answers on things. I am struggling to figure out how they stay in business. If I operated my business like this, I would have no clients. Now, we are being held hostage on the finish timeline, with seemingly little concern, because they required FULL PROJECT PAYMENT UP FRONT. They got paid, so it seems they don't care how long it takes. DO NOT HIRE THEM!! There are much better contractors out there that know what in the world they are doing, and care about their reputations. Carpet Wise has no business advertising as project contractors. read more

Well, I called this place and they set up an immediate estimate - I was time crunching so I was happy - they sounded like they could save me money, I was happy again. 15 minutes before my window I get a call the estimator can't come. I rearranged my day for him to come, I asked for them to send someone else and even opened up some other time. They said they would call back and never did. I called back and asked for owner, he was not there and he also never called back. I canceled another estimator for them - waste of my time. It's been 3 days now and no contact - I guess my whole house recarpet was not good enough for them! read more

Went to CarpetWise for new laminate flooring. Guys were very helpful and not at all fazed by my "cheapest you've got" request. After getting a great deal and quick install, I was happy to go back to them for some carpeting that was installed over the next two days. Really, that quick and it looks great. They have both cheap and upscale options and I was not embarrassed or disappointed in my cheap linoleum or more pricey carpet. read more

The tile samples are linear, I ordered the length needed, and it arrived in square feet! They would refund only 50% and charge a restocking fee! They would not even consider store credit; a very inaccurate representation of the product. Then they "lost" 50% of my carpet that was paid in full; had no explanation as to why, and of course, the company no longer made the carpet I had already paid for, so I needed to choose another style that would not match the existing carpet. (At that point I chose a different company to do business with.) After 10 days and a few phone calls, they came to measure the area and did refund that amount, but not as scheduled, it still took 2 more phone calls to get the check! And for a flooring company, their floors were always filthy; every time I went there it needed to be vacuumed. As a local, I tried to support local business and was very, very disappointed, and will only offer a bad reference to others looking for flooring products and services. read more

Sam has done two jobs for my wife and I. We live in a bi-level. The first was laying carpet in my man cave along with a spare bedroom. The job was done without a hitch-looks great and has held up well. The second job was a combo replacing all of our second (main) floor with carpet and all three bedrooms and hardwood in the dining/living room/hallway. The carpet was done as expected and looks great. After about ten months a couple of pieces of the bamboo spread out-at least a 1/4-1/2 inch gap. I called them and they sent out Tim. He looked around and said he was not satisfied with some of the other work the previous installers had done and not only did he re-set and repair the main problem but did a bunch more-spent the whole day and it looks great. No charge-no questions-just came out and backed up the work they did. read more

Horrible experience with this company. They tried to overcharge us for work done months later. Pricing not transparent- they tried to sell us on their most expensive flooring because our insurance was covering some of the costs and not wanting to work within our budget. Emails and phone calls went unanswered for days, delays in installing our new floors and they used subcontractors who showed up to work not knowing the scope of the project. Poor customer service and not a great product or service at all. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Unlike the other reviews, we cannot say enough positive things about Carpet Wise. We got about 2000 square feet of carpet installed in our new home. From the get go they were professional and bent over backwards with not only our ridiculous timeline, but going above and beyond (working on a Sunday to remove carpet that they didn't finish on a Saturday because previous flooring had been installed incorrectly) as well as during a promotion to remove the carpet for free, doing it 2 weeks before the install because of our painting schedule. Jacob was helpful in the showroom-didn't judge us at all for budget and had helpful tips for the best carpet for allergies and dog issues. When measuring, he was kind enough to bring the larger samples to help us to decide-absolutely no pressure and there was very little left over so we know we weren't taken advantage of with measuring. The job is beautiful. The owner who I dealt with while Jacob was away and with payment was courteous, again very accommodating, called to confirm details and the workers were skilled and polite. The scheduling was tight because of my commitments, but they worked with me on it. The installers were polite, did a great job, double checked everything and cleaned up after themselves. Went in and asked to see some tile they had online. Didn't have it so I asked if they would get samples delivered. They said yes. They took my name and number and said they would call when the samples came in. They did not. I called about five days later and asked if the samples had come in. They had. I drove in to pick them up and they were not what I asked for. They really did not seem to care what so ever. I had to take my business elsewhere. read more

We bought a house in Erie in October 2016 and hired Carpet Wise for our carpeting and linoleum tile needs. They sent Brian to do our measurements when we had our home inspection which was very convenient. He showed up on time and asked us to come to the store days later to look at carpet and tile samples. We met him at the store a couple days later and he helped us look through the different carpet options. We took samples home and eventually decided and they ordered the carpet and tile. The carpet came in and they were able to do our install before we moved in which was once again convenient. However, the linoleum tile was not in yet and they had to come back once we moved in to complete that project. That wasn't such an issue since it was for a bathroom where there is no furniture to move. The carpet install went very well. After the fact though, we kept stepping on nails and a few hard spots. We called about the nails which were mostly around seams and they told us we could remove them. I'm not sure why nails were used, but we removed them. When they came to do the linoleum install they also took care of the hard spots we found which I'm guessing was glue at the seams. They were pretty small spots. Probably the size of an erasure and only a few. Time passed and in March 2017 we contacted Brian again because we noticed what appeared to be highlighter streaks about 4 inches wide and 2-3 feet long in different spots of our house. It was really hard to see, but Brian came with Dillon and they saw it right away. They said they would contact the manufacturer to work on partial or full replacement. They had never seen this before and figured it was a manufacture defect. They were also concerned this could start happening in other areas since they didn't know what caused the odd streaks. They did mention it would take some time to work with the manufacturer. Brian even had to come back at the end of April to take even more pictures of the defect for the manufacturer. In mid May we heard back from Brian, but he mentioned we had to speak with Sam. Sam explained to us that the manufacturer would not replace partial amounts or the full carpet install and would offer monetary compensation. He said that is not up to their standard and still leaves us with discolored carpet. He said we could take it if we want, or we could give it to Carpet Wise and they would pay the rest to replace all our carpet. We took that option as we had the fear that the defect could start showing up other areas too. We thought that was very nice of them to bridge the gap between us and the manufacturer and offer to fix it to their standards. We set up for a two day install and on the first day the crew's van broke down so they never made it and another crew was not available. It was a little disappointing because I took the day off work and called a couple times. The first call was at 10am and Sam mentioned what happened and was trying to find another crew. I had to call back at 2pm and he told me that a larger crew will just show up the next day to knock it out. To me they should have been calling me with the details, not me calling them to figure out where and if installers are coming. However, sounds like they were a little short handed due to vacations in the summer. A crew came on the second day and got it done. The carpet looks great! I think my only complaint is I wish the installers would have been cleaner in my driveway. I had to clean up some carpet fibers out of the cracks and plants nearby. Overall the experience with Carpet Wise has been great. They are friendly to work with and went the extra mile when we discovered the initial defects months after our install. We bought higher end carpet and are looking for years of beautiful carpet in our house. read more

We purchased a Living Social voucher for $300 off an area rug for this company. I went in and picked out a couple of rugs, one they had in stock and the other they had to order. It turned out the one we took home was too small (even though we measured), but they didn't bat an eye when I called to see if we could exchange it. Then, it turned out the one we wanted in exchange was discontinued. They gave us a great deal on another brand and no increased freight. They definitely work to satisfy the customer. read more

Not the best experience. While end results are great, The service & execution along the way is poor and frustrating. At no step in the process did anyone there actually DO what they said they would. After the measurement was done, "Come by anytime, they will have the measurements". 2 days later, go in - No Measurements to be found. Have to come back AGAIN after calling to straighten that out. Ordered flooring, they said "2 days to get that, we'll call to schedule installation". 1.5 weeks later, I have to call them to schedule. Get Scheduled "8:30 AM Tuesday". 9:30 AM on tuesday comes (after taking the morning off work to get them in...) - No installers arrive. Call in... "oh, that is a 2 hour window... 8:30 to 10:30..." (Thanks for telling me....) Then they check on the ETA and call back. - 20 min later, called back - "we have your crew on another job" and "I pulled another crew, it will be 3 hours". Then they did a great job installing the floor. This was the second time dealing with them, and was the same experience the both times. If you don't care about your time, use them. It seems ONLY the owner can get anything done there. read more

I was shopping around for a 12x13 carpet remnant for my living room. I had been to several stores one of which ignored me and when I asked for help made it obvious that he didn't have time or an inclination to bother with me. He was all but tapping his foot to get rid of me. I was actually about to give up when I took a chance on Carpet Wise. The minute I walked in Sam approached me and made it clear he was more than happy to help me. He made it so easy for me to get exactly what I needed and suggested a few things I hadn't thought about. I realize I was making a small purchase but Sam treated me like I was an important customer and that it mattered to him that I got what I was looking for. Not only did Sam go out of the way to help me but the man he had bind and deliver my carpet was just as nice! His name was Walter and not only did he do a beautiful job on the binding but when he delivered it he helped me lay the carpet out. Dillon spent 2 hours with me, going over the products that I asked about and offered solutions; I was never once pressured to buy anything more or less or to upgrade. He took the time to understand my needs and my lifestyle in order to provide me with the best flooring options. I had decided to add the closets at the last minute and Jacob came out to measure- he was professional and got the measuring done in a quick time frame, as I was running short on time that day. We scheduled the install and the installation team explained exactly what they were going to do and why. Even though it took an additional day because of my oddly shaped hallway, the guys did everything correctly instead of taking the easy way out. While the installation was in progress, Dillon stopped by to check in with me and to see how things were going and took the time to learn exactly what the installers were doing and to educate me on a few things as well such as how cleaning my new floors would work, why the transitions were the way they were, etc. I walked into the store several times, and each time, I was greeted with a warm smile by every member of the staff.
