Plenty of tombstones here dating back to the mid to late 1800's. Lots of interesting inscriptions. Although it's small, it's very conceivable to spend the better part of a day here looking at all the historic grave markers.

Many of the graves and gravestones are very old. Their website says that full graves are no longer available but they do have cremation spaces still for sale. This is the sort of place I would love to spend my eternity, under scrub trees and in peace and quiet. This cemetery is also listed on various sites about haunted areas so maybe you'll experience something paranormal during your visit. I have not had such luck.

It was a good experience overall…read more The church my grandma attended for decades is located adjacent to their chapel on Ward Dr. The chapel is somewhat hidden from the road but close enough to Hollister that you wouldn't get lost if trying to search for it. While we didn't use this chapel (we opted to conduct the service at her church instead), I have been a few times for other family members' memorial services and can say that it was a serene environment. While my grandma had prepared and had already bought her burial site, the team at Welch-Ryce-Haider really came to our aid when it came to executing the whole process. The transition from the rosary to the service to the interment was as smooth as it could have gone, and the staff here really did all the work for us. We were given peace of mind knowing that her final celebration of life would be conducted the way she would have wanted - and it most certainly was. There are a handful of other funeral homes locally, but I'd wholeheartedly give this company my business again.

From the very beginning, they walked us through every step of the process with so much patience, compassion, and professionalism. We needed to have our aunt transferred internationally to the Philippines so she could be brought home and laid to rest, and we had no idea how complicated that process would be. Santa Clara Mortuary took that burden off our shoulders. They handled the difficult paperwork, coordinated with the Philippine Consulate, made sure all of the necessary requirements and documentation were completed, and even took care of arranging her flight home. Throughout the entire process, they kept our family informed and updated so we were never left wondering what was happening or what needed to be done next. When you are grieving, the last thing you want to worry about is paperwork, international requirements, deadlines, and travel arrangements. Having a team that knew exactly what needed to be done and handled everything with such care allowed our family to focus on grieving, supporting one another, and saying goodbye to our aunt. We are in awe of how smoothly they handled such a complicated process. What could have been an incredibly stressful and overwhelming experience was made so much easier because of their guidance and dedication.
