Dealing with the passing of a loved one is never easy; however, Ivy Lawn made everything simple…read more My mother-in-law was living at home with hospice care. We knew we would soon need funerary assistance, and I called Ivy Lawn to find out what to do when her time came. I had passed their cemetery in Ventura many times, but had no prior knowledge or experience with them. I spoke with a lovely woman (Dominique?), who shared that we only needed to call when the time came. They provide 24/7 service, and don't need any prior paperwork, no advance payment, etc. On the morning she passed, we called. Nick was there within 2 hours to take care of everything with such calm kindness. He provided such respectful service and informed us of the next steps. I was surprised at the small touches that he also offers, for example, he had an American flag covering for veterans. They have two locations: Camarillo and Ventura. We had an appointment with Nick a couple of days later at the Ventura location to sign papers, review information, order death certificates, etc. He walked us through all the options, answered all our questions, and we never felt like this was a "sale" in any way. Nothing was pushed at us, just straight information. We chose cremation and found their rates in line with those of others offering this service. We collected the remains at the Camarillo location. I believe this is where the cremation services happen. We could have also collected the remains at the Ventura location with advance notice. As we visited both locations in this process, I can state that they are both lovely options for funeral/memorial services as well.

I find it to be both predatory and in exceptionally bad taste that Ivy Lawn has a giant sign…read moreadvertising their pet cremation services along the side of the road directly across from Horizon Vet Specialists/ER. People come here, myself included, and hear awful news, have to make gut wrenching decisions, and are scared and often devastated. Horizon, like most other vets, have knowledge of local pet memorial services and pet owners can make those arrangements at the vet facility or at home. I see no other giant signs placed on the side of the road to advertise their services. I am surprised Ivy Lawn does not have marketing materials outside of CMH or local hospices.

I have already written a 5 star excellent review for cremation services for my wife of 61 years…read moreprovided on 10/29/2025.. However, after I received my wife's urn, contained in a beautiful blue velvet bag, with a bright yellow cord closure, my son requested a small memorial urn with a portion of his mother's ashes. I wasn't able to open the inner container of the larger urn. I called Coast Cities Cremation to ask their assistance. Irma, at the front office was very kind and helpful, informing me that, if I dropped by during business hours, they would reopen the urn, transfer a portion to the small urn and reseal both. It was arranged and took only 10 minutes. On top of that, the smaller urn , which I purchased elsewhere, came back with its own smaller but beautiful velvet bag. My son was pleased with the package when we met later. I was comforted with the consistent kindness and helpfulness by Irma, in the front office and the Director of CCC. The whole process of care for my late wife, from transporting her from the hospice care home, where I met them the night of her passing, to my last contact with their office in Ventura, was a 4/4 Star service. Very professional and kind. I am most grateful. Allan A.

I called Coast Cities Crematory per my friends final wishes…read more The care and respect from the 2 women who came to retrieve my friend was unbelievable. They did not rush me and answered all questions with great regard for my very raw feelings at the time. I will never forget this experience. I met with Hugo at his office to finalize my friend's requests. He too was calm and respectful, did not rush me and answered all of my questions. I highly recommend this crematorium. Thank you.
