This is where we have our beloved resting . Nicely kept and close to home. Many of our relatives have bought plots here to not have fam worry about their final resting place costs. Also since most fam lives in Oxnard, they know they will be visited. I have not yet looked into that but will consider. As many as 10 of my fam members have their plots ready here. read more

Our family was VERY pleased with the services provided to us. We specifically want to thank Vaneza, Angie and Daniel as being very responsive. For those going through this the first time we recommend you ask for: * Vocabulary: Clarity re: item such as honorarium, embalming vs. refrigeration, internment, committal, vault, and marketing forms such as the "Circle of Protection" * Mortuary vs. Cemetery: Clarity re: the separation between these two entities and the legal process for providing access to communicate and make decisions specifically related to Advanced Health Care Directives. * Timelines: Clarity on timelines for scheduling services in advance. Our family assumed using the chapel would be more efficient; later we found out later the wait would be minimally 2 weeks. * Priests/ Musicians: Clarity re: availability/ cost for these important members of the service. There are different issues for churches vs. chapel. * Eulogies: Because we were initially not using our own priest we were given a 2-3 min limit, which was upsetting and insensitive. I buried my son here and I bought two plots , next to each other this was 2 years ago , I came to find out they sold the plot I bought next to my son !!! They said OOPS !!! How the heck do you screw that up !!!!! They then gave me a plot that was open. 15 plots away from my son !!!!! The people there need to retire and hire someone that doesn't make so many mistakes , the older man tried selling me a plot that was already taken ! Then this happens !! Nooo this is unforgivable!!! I am so sad and hurt that I was treated so horrible at a rosary last night that I was kicked out all because of a spiteful wife just because she paid for the whole services and I was there to support my daughter who is under age who wanted her mother's support and saying goodbye to her father. I'm there to support her and to show my respect to my ex . be there for my daughter and support her. this mortuary has the audacity to ask me to leave because it was the wife's wishes that I am not there at this time of need.. but I'm there for my Daughter. I have never seen anything like that in my life. so I'd ask before you think of having any services there because now I will be telling people to think before they think about having anything there and I work at hospital and I will spread the word how disrespectful and heartless that was to a grieving family member and to his daughter that was. just keep this in mind when you're deciding on a mortuary. read more

This is the final resting place for both of my parents, and brother along with many other close family and friends. From start to finish, the service has always been outstanding and the staff has always been kind and patient. There is also a flower shop that is run by great people. Note that Thursday's are when they remove the flowers and it's also when they mow the lawn. read more

The cemetery itself looks kept up,, but the staff are NOT professional at all. They act like they are afraid to stand up to the rift raft, low class people who threaten and bully the older long time families which have been coming and gathering for years. There are a lot of " chollas and chollos " bullying the long timers ! Even the security guards are very unprofessional. When I go now I have my phone ready to dial 911, I will not engage with any staff or the bully's,, I will be ready to file a police report. read more

Disappointed. I finally paid off my plot. The contract had my legal name, they billed me under my legal name, but when it came presenting me a certificate that the plot is paid in full, it has someone else's name. I spent a good part of my Saturday at the office confirming that in the computer system, my name is spelt correctly. Someone there didn't take the care much for what name is one the certificate. And, this is where my final resting place is? I wanted a correct certificate before I leave. All I got was lip service that it will get one. So, just because someone was too lazy to check that name and a manager that doesn't manage well, I get shafted by this place. Shady business. read more

My family heart is broken by the death od our grandfather he had made plans over 20 years ago and this place tries to find a way drain more money out of our grieving family it is very sad that they make a point to charge for every thing I wanted to attend my grandfathers cremation and they charged me an additional 400 dollars plus they wanted to charge the family members that did not make it in time to see him leave his home for the last time I wouldn't be surprised if the charged to attend the services I only hope that when the time comes for the staff at this place to meet there maker that other funeral parlors are as passionate in bleeding there families dry as they tried to drain my family read more

This use to be a place of comfort for me. So much has changed. During the holidays I would go big and decorate my loved ones grave and now they have restrictions for everything. The cost of funerals and burials are ridiculous and they also want to limit what we can do for our loved ones on special occasions. It's sad and very selfish of them. read more

My father and grandmother are buried here and love the upkeep of the cemetery. This past week I had to help another family member with the funeral services for their daughter. Times can be hectic and family members come in to the services with varied emotions and usually in a frazzle. I must commend the staff at Sta Clara Cemetery and Mortuary for their service with compassion - especially "Nick" (Nicholas) who has only been working there for a bit over a month. Nick was attentive, helpful, and went out of his way for our family-- something as simple as getting an audio cable from his car for us to play a slide show, but sometimes the smallest gestures, mean a lot-- especially during these times. March 2013 we used Santa Clara's Mortuary services and were EXTREMELY unsatisfied. I am disgusted and saddened by their lack of compassion towards towards us in mourning. We felt as if everything was rushed and that the "money" was more in their interest than providing comfort and sympathy. My experience of loosing my ex-boyfriend/best friend was tragic enough. Santa Clara's new management made his funeral cold and unimportant. And they were so quick to rush us out of there. Its sad that I even felt that same way towards the priest. We will no longer use their mortuary, and I will discourage anyone from using their services. read more

On September 2012, I put my mother to rest here. Now on May 2013, I again had to use their services, though this time it was for my daughter. Needless to say it was devastating for the family. In both cases, though, Eric Ortega handled the funeral arrangements, hospital transfers, cremation and burial in a professional and compassionate manner. He will also work with you on all the paperwork and financial end of things. He also maintains good communication with you over e-mail or cell phone. I can't say enough good things about Eric, or the cemetery. It's truly a class act operation, where I wouldn't hesitate to come to in future needs. read more
