I thought the place was great. Close to everything in town. Clean and cheap. Fits the bill.

Where do I start? With the poo on the shower curtain? With the wholly unfriendly front desk staff?…read moreWith the terrible lighting in the room or the hot water that takes 3 minutes to get luke-warm? Or the water pressure that is faster if I used a spoon to pour it over my own head? Yeah... When we walked in the door - the two front desk clerks were NOT on the phone but made us wait about 3 minutes before engaging us. I guess that was some important solitaire on the computer? Did not recognize me as a Club member. I had to ASK to receive the welcome points (so far NOT received). When the 2nd clerk "insisted" we not only give the make-n-model of our car but demanded the license plate # I immediately knew these were former Motel 6 employees and not IHG trained staffers. Bathroom lighting is abysmal. If you want to see your face in the mirror over the sink prepare for the center of your head to be pure shadow. Stupid! The bed was very comfortable, the AC was very very nice. The TV was a 40" LG (instead the standard 32"). Except they had only SDTV channels, the image on the screen was stretched all out of shape and you couldn't fix the ratios. Good TV - horrible cable! Only a handful of electrical plugs in the place. For a brand new property that was very disappointing. The hot water - OMG - it is horrible. The sink took three minutes of running water to get luke-warm. I wasn't sure I even had it turned to the "H" so I kept switching it back-n-forth every 10-15 seconds wondering. The shower took a full 5-minutes to get "more than warm" but never got hot. And the water pressure ... (see above spoon reference). But the final nail was when I was standing in the shower and noticed dried human poo smeared on the curtain. It literally sits beside the toilet so someone at some point had some sort of explosive "movement" and it went beyond the bowl. The problem is the cleaning staff obviously didn't even look when cleaning this bathroom. Finally - no receipt under my door the next morning. When I went to the front desk to ask for a receipt - and commented that I was used to getting it under my door - she just stared at me. Then she asked if I wanted to check out and if I need a receipt. WHAT - why I only mentioned a receipt 3 times in the last 30 seconds but hey - uh - you guess you'll ask me anyway?

We planned this trip as our first anniversary weekend to get away from the chaos of everyday life and it was every bit of what we needed. Unlike other B&Bs, Scott and Loren's home offers a secluded and private setting where you can enjoy the grounds without having to tiptoe around other guests or wait for a good spot on the porch to open up. It offers a level of comfort and seclusion not easily found elsewhere. Their property is amazing with gardens throughout and a quietness you cannot find at other B&Bs. They are incredibly welcoming to their home and go out of their way to make you feel appreciated. While we were secluded from civilization, the home itself offered all of the amenities you could ever need. We especially enjoyed exploring the books on the shelves, sitting on the porch, looking at the many species of trees and plant life, and perhaps best of all Scott's French Toast breakfast. I cannot stress enough just how wonderful our stay was and how accommodating they were to our last-minute changes. We are deeply appreciative for their hospitality and every little touch they put in to make our stay a memorable one. We will definitely be back for future stays.

Super nice and clean rooms and common spaces. Very friendly staff. Service was amazing. The rooms and the entire hotel had a new smell. Easy to check in/out. They have coffee/tea available 24/7. There's a great indoor and outdoor space for sitting. These are also great spaces for when indulging in the free breakfast. The breakfast is an amazing value and it is tasty. Yogurt, fruit, cereal, waffles, bagels, toast, eggs, sausage, biscuits/gravy, coffee, tea, premade omelette... so many options! All the condiments and such are also provided. This alone is a fantastic deal!! The staff that were restocking and keeping things going were very friendly too. Very comfortable room. Nice bed/pillows. There's plenty of storage. Breakfast was elevated in its offerings and the employees were very helpful and friendly. They even have a 4 for $15 beer special. The best was the private dog park. This hotel thinks of everything. In the sea of hotel mediocrity, if I could give 6 stars I would.

If the Fairfield Inn…read moredid not have some good qualities, I would have given it a one to two star rating. For first time visits to this hotel, I strongly encourage people to closely survey their room and bathroom before settling in for the night. So the hotel seemed stellar at first UNTIL I used the shower in my room. The hotel had great reviews, so I did not think I would have a problem. The front desk check in area and our room were clean & very appealing. I loved the selection of tv shows and movies on our television. We had checked in for a late night stay & just wanted to relax before we traveled out early in the morning. Everything seemed ideal until I took a shower in the morning. I noticed there was human hair from other people in the front and back of my shower area. One was a long light brown hair in the front upper area of the shower stall. One was a short black hair on upper back of the shower wall. I was mortified that housekeeping didn't notice this immediately. It made me wonder if they cleaned the bathroom at all after the former guest before us left. Despite all the wonderful amenities, the unsanitary condition of our bathroom made me dock 2 stars from a 5 star rating. It makes me want to thoroughly survey any room we get at any hotel regardless of the hotel having an excellent rating especially this hotel. Breakfast here was exceptional with many options EXCEPT they started shutting down earlier than the 10 AM closing time & there was NO COFFEE available at 9:30 AM. My husband had to wait for them to make a fresh batch. Despite the great breakfast, I got sick from something I ate on the breakfast provided there which is very rare. I never get sick from food I eat. I wanted to give a one star rating to this hotel yet I decided to be kind yet fair.

Some greats and some work to be done. Stay here on a budget but hope for the best on quality. How does the coffee run dry at 9:45am? People are still waking up still. I know that breakfast closes at 10:00am, but some set there alarms to eat something and get a coffee.

It reminded me of motels from the 1950's that you see in old movies. A time when the owners took pride and individuality in their establishment both inside and out. The rooms are decorated with care and attention to detail. Very calming, peaceful colors. Even down to the switch plates! You could almost call it a boutique motel. The beds are very comfy and the rooms, lobby and grounds were super clean! We felt very comfy and safe. The hosts Jim and Marsha are the best. Very accommodating, polite and courteous. One of the biggest advantages for riders is being able to park directly outside your room, making it easy to unload gear and keep an eye on the bike. The husband-and-wife owners were welcoming and easy to talk with, and as fellow motorcyclists they clearly understand the needs of travelers on two wheels. Check-in was simple and quick. The room was clean and comfortable, the bed provided a good night's sleep, the air conditioning worked well, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. I also appreciated having a refrigerator in the room to keep drinks and water cold after a long day of riding. The property felt well maintained and had the kind of personal touch that is becoming harder to find. The owners also provide homemade cinnamon rolls for guests in the morning. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try one because of a food allergy, but both owners encouraged me to have one, and several other reviews mention them as a highlight of the stay. As a motorcyclist, I appreciated the rider-friendly touches throughout the property. The owners provided some welcome gifts, including stickers, a keychain, and a motorcycle cleaning rag. Those small gestures weren't expected but were genuinely appreciated. They do a nightly fire pit but unfortunately I was too tired from a full day of riding to participate. I appreciate the effort to create opportunities for guests to relax & socialize. I also enjoyed talking with the owners about motorcycles and local riding. They even warned me about a bear that occasionally visits the property, which certainly added some local character to the stay. My only real criticisms are minor. The television was smaller than I would have preferred (NBA playoffs were on), and while the room included seating, I found the chairs somewhat uncomfortable for relaxing after a long day of riding. Seemed more like decorations than functional. A more comfortable chair would have made the room even better after a long day of riding. One thing prospective guests should keep in mind is that dining options are limited within walking distance. If you arrive hungry and don't want to get back on the road, plan ahead. Delivery options were available but carried significant delivery fees. Overall, Fox Mountain Inn was a comfortable, clean, rider-friendly place to stay with welcoming owners and a personal touch that is hard to find. I would gladly return if traveling through the area again. A good place to stay.
