I personally know the seller of the home mentioned and I also know Jason and Lisa Bernstein. I have first hand experience of what really happened and I'd like to share what I know to be true. First, when I entered the seller's home, I was overcome by the stench of dog urine and feces and also the putrid smell of cigarette smoke. The house was in serious disrepair, full of junk and clutter, and also had a major infestation of roaches. The house was certainly NOT gorgeous and it was in this condition at the time the house was sold. The exterior of the property was also a complete mess. The Bernstein's sold the home for this elderly lady at FULL ASKING PRICE, which the elderly person told me she thought was a good price. The Bernsteins also made sure she could stay in the home for months at no charge following the closing of the sale. They did this so she would have plenty of time to find another place to live. The Bernsteins also had food delivered to this lady's home when they found out her car was inoperable and generously paid for the groceries. In addition, on numerous occasions, Lisa provided transportation so this elderly lady could complete errands and be on time for appointments. I know this firsthand because the elderly lady shared all this information with me personally. Jason and Lisa treated this woman with dignity and respect and always had her best interests in mind. They went above and beyond to help her! The seller also left her cat behind when she moved out, and it would not have survived on it's own. I was put in touch with some people who rescued the poor kitty and now she is in a loving and safe home. The cat had some serious medical problems and was seriously underweight when she was rescued (2 days after the elderly lady moved out). The kitty is now healthy, happy, and living the best life ever! I know this because I receive regular updates and pictures from the rescuers and I've also been to their home and have seen firsthand how well the cat is doing. In addition, this elderly lady DOES IN FACT have living relatives (a niece, a nephew, and a sister in law) and also a friend of 50 years, all of who had been communicating with her both during and after the real estate transaction was completed. Again, I know this firsthand, as per this elderly lady's communication with me. I also went to great lengths to help this elderly lady with a number of things. So she did in fact have support of family and friends. The friend mentioned went to great lengths to help her elderly friend on numerous occasions as well. The statements Priscilla Y made in her review are false, unfounded, and slanderous. Finally, I have known Lisa and Jason for 6 years and they have taken care of all my real estate needs (2 home sales and 2 purchases) with professionalism, compassion, caring, and my best interests in mind. Lisa and Jason sell homes and assist buyers with purchasing homes with love, expertise, and with the goal of always making sure their clients receive the best services! I highly recommend Lisa and Jason as agents and also as individuals who truly care about people!

When I moved into my house after closing, I walked into an unclean house! The owners did not clean up after themselves & it was pretty dirty (kitchen & bathrooms & all floors & carpet). Brandon offered at his expense to have the home professionally cleaned! Now this was not his fault or responsibility but he offered to clean this home! How caring & wonderful is that! He also helped me with the home warranty After closing. Brandon is an excellent example of a compassionate human being. He takes his job seriously & walks his talk. He is professional & works as if he is getting the full commission even when having to split it. He helped me so much as I bought the home unseen while out of state & he also helped me as a first time cash buyer. My daughter rented a townhome from Rent Athens and I helped her move in. Be very careful when doing…read moreyour walkthrough and note every little thing. To start with there was a huge hole in the steps leading to her second story apartment which made it unsafe to move in. Also 2 other areas of wood rot. When we went back to rent Athens they acted like it was no big deal but we were there with all of her belongings in a U-Haul and unable to move in until those repairs were made. Upon move in we literally had to clean the entire apartment ourselves. There was dust on the ceiling stains in the fridge and cobwebs in the air vent and the carpet was dirty and smelled. One of the windows didn't close all the way and you could see outside with the door closed because there was a huge gap. Also the blinds were replaced in the front window with blinds that didn't fit. So anyone could see in on either side. The deck outside was full of garbage and what appeared to be pet feces and/or dried up vomit. There was numerous requests to have this cleaned,RentAthens just deleted the request. There is no way that someone professionally cleaned this apartment before move in. The bifold doors in the laundry room did not close because they were not correctly installed. I repaired that. She moved out early and paid her remaining two months. The apartment was far cleaner when she moved out than then when she moved in. Rent Athens kept over half of her security deposit citing things like scuffs on the wall, dirty range hood, and said that there were anchor holes in the walls. We even commented on move in that there was already holes so we could hang curtains so I know that they were already there when she moved in. I can almost guarantee based on the condition of the rest of the apartment that the range hood was dirty when we moved in as well. ( we just checked to see if the fan came on) everything was pretty much dirty so we didn't note that. I had to clean all the cabinets as well in the kitchen because they were covered with old grease and grime. There was no filter in the air vent and it was full of cobwebs and dust. My advice is to get a professional inspector to come out if you expect to get any of your deposit back and make videos and save receipts of all the money you have to put in to make it livable. The carpet was vacuumed at best. It still smelled of dog. I can understand paying a standard fee to shampoo the carpets IF it was actually being done. This company is taking advantage of these college kids. All I can say is make sure you take extra paper and take lots of notes because they will try to charge you for things that were already there and cleaning things that obviously they don't clean.Try to avoid this company! Some photos from our move in: I spent a week cleaning and repairing some of the small things. And they charged her $50 for a scuff on the wall that I don't even see on our move out photos. I also cleaned the stain out of the fridge and the deck was clean when she moved out. (My daughter and her boyfriend did it with a scrub brush). So I don't know what charge that would be if a "scuff" is $50. The place was in far better condition than when they moved in. Beware of this company!!
