We felt that the property was misrepresented, and customer service was downright awful. Dealing with rent payments, and small issues with an apartment is one thing, however getting tied up in ethics complaints, etc. is just too much. My experience was similar to the other one already noted.

They refuse to repair anything…read more We are dealing with a house that floods multiple inches, the ceiling leaks, the sump pump doesn't work, there's mold, and their response is to damage of your property do to flooding, is, "dont you have renters insurance?" Thompson will yell over you while you try to tell him what's wrong. If you try to continue to speak, he hangs up on you. That way he can say he wasn't aware of anything needing repair. This has gone on for over a year. I can't wait to not deal with him! Do not rent these properties! I promise it'll be a mistake.

Of course as a parent you want these things done ASAP, myself included. Our property manger was Jennifer Veyera, who was absolutely amazing in how she handled each & every concern we had overtime. We are from Ohio & one thing that we did not fully understand was that if you choose to live in the amazing city of Charleston, SC that there are factors that effect the house. One is the age of the homes & secondly the moist humid environment. It is nearly impossible to keep moisture out of the house with the high humidity. This in turn causes concerns inside the home. This was obviously one of our concerns with our house. However, Jennifer handled my concerns with professionalism and calmness. I was not always calm but Jennifer had a way of making me understand the process of what it takes to make these repairs right. Jennifer was essentially the liaison between us, the owner, & maintenance to make the necessary repairs with her budget. In fact, we were so happy with the customer service from Jennifer that we renewed my daughter's lease for another year. So just recently in Aug. 2022 we moved our daughter out of her house due to her graduating. There were so many great memories made on Smith St. for her & her roommates. I highly recommend Southeastern Managment Group, specially Jennifer Veyera. Jennifer should be commended for her dedication to her career. She seamlessly made many challenges work out to everyones favor and the final result was satisfaction above & beyond what Jennifer needed to do.

Unbelievable that they continue to make money off such a terrible maintained unsafe property. My daughter had to beg them to send in a cleaner for century old dust that fell from the ceiling/attic after the collapse and coated the entire bedroom. There isn't enough room here to describe how uncooperative and uncaring the company was about the situation. When she finally was done with the lease she still had to hire an expensive cleaner and show receipts. The company claimed to mail her deposit which she never received and she was charged for the check being "lost" in the mail. Having put three children through college and many rentals through the years including other old homes in downtown Charleston this was by far the worst experience we have ever had!

Initially, they agreed to pay for probate but never followed through, leaving me to cover the cost since they repeatedly assured me they wanted the property. Once probate was complete, they went silent. Jason would occasionally respond, claiming they were still interested, but refused to provide a new contract or closing date. Even after the short sale bank lowered the price, they remained unresponsive. Ultimately, the lender canceled the short sale because Jason and Fast Charleston House Buyer pulled out without even notifying me. Since the approval was in their name, I couldn't replace them with another buyer. Not only did they cost me the probate fees, but they also wasted months of my time with empty promises. Their 5-star reviews online are misleading--beware before doing business with them!

We called and emailed 10 times for 2.5 months and there was no response. We had money in the game as a deposit, which is pretty unacceptable. We were under contract. He lied to us, told us a different closing date every month (when he would finally respond to an email) and finally, he told us that the deal flopped (not his fault) but there was no communication or condolences. We called him and said that we are simply frustrated because of the lack of communication (in a very calm way) and he got SO defensive, cut me off, called me stupid and hung up. Who does that?!
