I had a vaginal delivery with Dr. Patterson and I'm very happy that I chose her as my OB-GYN. We decided to do an induction at 39 weeks, and the whole experience went very smoothly. The only negative point I would mention is the long wait time at the office. Almost every appointment we waited close to an hour after our scheduled time. Dr. Patterson is a nice 'person' but not a great OBGYN. I went to her for 2 years for my annual PAPs and neither one of my experiences were good. 1. Getting an appt is ridiculous - they schedule you months out because they are 'booked'. 2. Showing up early for an appt is pointless - you will still wait about 30-40 minutes PAST your scheduled appt before you go back. 3. She was INCREDIBLY rough during my PAP - like......it shouldn't hurt and I shouldn't be sore the next day - but I was. 4. She also commented on the size of my chest - asking if I had back problems.............gee thanks and NO 5. Lastly....she told me I needed to lose weight to help with getting pregnant. I'm a voluptuous lady, but women much larger than me have gotten pregnant and had successful deliveries. (rude) Needless to say - I don't go to her anymore because she hurts me and makes me feel like crap.... If you need a great OBGYN - Dr. Derrick in McKinney is precious :) Love her! read more

Not sure how the doctor is but this review is purely for the reception staff. Naturally I would assume a highly reviewed doctor as Patterson wouldn't hire a rude, curt and plain disrespectful receptionist. And to deal with someone like that everytime you want to make an appointment can be draining. If you are a new patient then forget it, even if its a critical circumstance you will be told that the next available appointment is over 1+ month out! Get someone that is more compassionate, respectful and just plain nice to talk to patients, the Dr. could be the best but the reception staff and their attitude is what makes the difference. read more

Since my insurance has not kicked in with my new job... I really had to search around for a somewhat reasonable price for a well's women exam. Dr. Patterson charges about $10 less than what I was quoted from other doctors around the area. I had a 10 am appointment and arrived 15 minutes early to fill out the necessary paperwork and was seen by 10:05 am. The nurse was extremely friendly and made me feel at ease. When I finally met Dr. Patterson, she was welcoming. I could tell her bedside manner was going to be great. I appreciate that during my exam she was the only one in the room. Not that it really matters but I felt that my privacy was respected. We talked about our hate of going to the dentist throughout my procedure and she was done! I have been seeing Dr. Patterson for about 4 years now. She was the one who identified my underlying diabetes. My first pregnancy, we determined it was gestational. It never went away. So, during one of my visits in my second pregnancy, after telling her about my numbers not returning to normal, she decided to do a full blood panel on me where it was determined that I am type two diabetic. She is amazing. There is a bit of a wait in the waiting room, but it's not bad, Dr. Patterson is worth it, trust me! My first review... because she deserves it. Dr. Patterson was amazing! She genuinely listened and took her time with me. At first, I was very annoyed due to waiting well over an hour before being seen. I was about to walk out but I'm so glad I didn't. After seeing that she takes time with patients, it was worth the wait. I don't mind waiting for a doctor who actually listens! Unfortunately, that's a hard quality to find these days. Needless to say, I'm so thankful I found her! My last dr kept giving me meds without trying to fix a very recurring issue. I felt like I kept getting "band-aid" treatments. Dr. Patterson is the first to want to do more in depth testing and get to the root of it, which I'm so thankful for! A rare find. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because it is not easy to make an appointment here. I had to go to an expensive urgent care clinic for medication for an infection when I first moved here because they couldn't see me for 1.5 months, even after stating that I had an infection which was probably getting worse by the day. I asked to be placed on a cancellation call list because I wasn't working yet and was completely free. I never was called prior to my appt which I find hard to believe that no one cancelled. I had spoken to Dr. Patterson on the phone while she was the on-call doctor during a weekend where I experienced worrisome bleeding during my first pregnancy. For me a doctor is a person who cares and values human lives. I called Dr Patterson's office and asked if she is accepting new patients, as I wanted to transfer my medical care at 12 weeks pregnancy. I was told yes and to get my medical records which my previous doctor will sign off. Which is completely acceptable and a process. But frustration and nervousness started when I called after a week to hear that Dr Patterson is too busy to review the records yet. So, I waited and regularly followed up for the same answer again and again. Finally after 3 weeks, when I was 15 weeks pregnant, I called again raising the concern that due to their "too much busy doctor" I do not have any doctor for past 3 weeks in the middle of my pregnancy and I will possibly miss my regular monthly checkup. Her excessively rude assistant's response was, "no way you can get an appointment in next 7-10 days and yes, you will miss your checkup, so go an search for some other OB-GYN". Glad she said that without wasting my more time after wasting 3 weeks. They should have said that earlier. If a doctor has no time and concern that a pregnant woman has no medical care due to her, for me that doctor is definitely not worth it. After getting lot of mental tension from this office, I reached out to an OBGYN (with equally good reviews as hers, even better) same day, provided my medical records and they reviewed and responded back the same day considering a pregnant lady needs medical care which is more precious than their time and "so-called" busy schedules ad is their foremost duty. Understand they are busy, everybody is, but this should be told when someone calls you for the first time. Nobody has the right to play with someone's life. read more

Super long wait times (no matter what time of day you go). You have to wait 20+ mins in the lobby and then an additional 20 mins before meeting with Dr. Patterson WHY DO THEY HAVE PHONES? THEY NEVER ANSWER THEM!!!! Here's a tip: Select the option "Pay a Bill"--- there will always be someone to talk on that line. Otherwise, they are very difficult to deal with. We initially planned to pay out of pocket. Once we decided to switch doctors, we were supposed to receive a refund from Dr. Patterson. They have yet to refund us for the money we've paid. I love Dr. Carrie (Kim) Patterson!! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone. She is such a great doctor who truly cares about her patients! She preformed my abdominal myomectomy 17 months ago and I couldn't of hoped for a better doctor or better results! My only complaint is that her office is now in Frisco. I use to go to her when she was in Flowermound and it was way more convenient, but I am willing to drive the extra distance for her to be my doctor, even now that I am pregnant. I was a first time patient so she asked all the questions, was thorough, and definitely made you feel relaxed and comfortable even though we all know the procedure is far from pleasant. My daughter was given a recommendation for Dr. Patterson. I have nothing negative to say about Dr. Patterson, except her new office is extremely organized and unprofessional, so beware. My daughter called in and was given confirmation that they accepted her insurance, so booked an appointment three weeks out. She also filled out and submitted paperwork ahead of time, which included her insurance information. As a first time mother, she was excited, but anxious about her first appointment, and both she and her husband took off work. After waiting 30 minutes, she was asked for proof of insurance. I don't know why she has such good reviews. I waited an entire month for an apt and it was such a let down! I arrived 15 min early to be seen 45 min later. The office looked empty (no patient waiting). I dont understand why an apt would take so much time when there are no patients waiting to be seen. Finally I was received then filled out the online portal and never received my exams back. I had to call to get my results. Dr Patterson is by far the best OBGYN I have ever visited. I have had problems since I was 18 years old and have had many procedures with many doctors throughout the years. I became pregnant in the fall of 2014 and wanted a new OB for my pregnancy & delivery. I had heard great things about Dr Patterson so I thought I would give her a try. I have been SO happy with her! She is very personable and professional at the same time. I feel like I am visiting with my friend and I can ask her anything and be brutally honest about how I am feeling. She really takes the time to make you feel comfortable and answers every question no matter how silly - since I was a first time Mom I had many!! During my delivery she made sure I was comfortable and talked me through everything that was happening. When my baby's shoulder got stuck and she handled it with such a steady hand and was very calm. My husband and I were so impressed with her. I wouldn't even think about someone else delivering my next child. 5 Stars!! read more

Unfortunately I have not had a great experience with Dr. Patterson and her staff. Being a first time mom, Dr. Patterson lacked in the ability to provide me with resourceful information. I felt like a number every time I came in. After waiting close to an hour to be seen, my appointment would literally be 3-5 minutes which I assume is her way to play catch up since she is always running behind. Her nurse Crystal is probably one of the rudest healthcare "professionals" I've ever dealt with. She certainly lacked empathy, a characteristic I feel is necessary to work in an industry where you are suppose to care about people. I did not like her at all. Dr was very rude to us. I went to her with severe Hemorrhoids pain issue and she did not show any concern at all. Why isn't there an option for 0 star? I would give her 0 if I could. Don't understand how she can get so many positive reviews. My impression of her is she cares very little about her patient, and she is incompetent, and false advertisement. She has listed herself with experience in gestational diabetes, but when I asked her my concerns about my diet, she admits she has very little knowledge about it, and can not give me any advice. I complained the vaginal pain during her exam and her reply was it can't be all that painful because I've already given birth once. I asked her to take a look at my hemorrhoid, she refused and said she will take a look at it next time. Asked her about some supplements I was thinking to take, her reply was I am not familiar with that supplement, and that was the end of it. So girls, AVOID her at all cost!!!!
