He told him to go home, get some rest, take extra vitamins and if it got to where he couldn't breathe, then go to ER. He gave us the standard canned response that Mountain Region Family Medicine (and big Pharma) mandated. What a tragedy that plandemic turned out to be. We would never recommend him to anyone.

There was NO notice given to any of their patients whatsoever & no information as to where our doctors went! This was my primary care doctor & they disappeared without any notice? This was a very poor and unprofessional move on the part of State of Franklin Health and has left many, many patients without a doctor. This shows they absolutely do not care about their patients. Tell me, just how many DECENT doctors are going to go there to take care of people when they hear that all 14 doctors have left at the same time? Not quality doctors I would bet. Obviously, I would absolutely not recommend and would say to SERIOUSLY look elsewhere!

Even though Dr. Peter Platzer is now retired, I just came across one review post about running away…read morefrom Dr. Platzer and him being a scary person. That is absolutely FALSE! I was a patient of Dr. Platzer for years at HMG even before he went into private practice and went with him when he started his private practice. Dr. Platzer is the best!! I have missed him so much since he retired over a year ago and just wished that he was still in practice but know that everyone deserves to be in retirement when they reach his age. My husband and I were his patients and he was so easy to talk to and he would spend quality time with his patients and didn't leave them wondering what any test results showed. He was thorough ... oh, how I miss him as my physician. He was a knowledgeable physician and anytime my husband and I went to him, he would prescribe medications for whatever was ailing us and he was right with diagnoses and treatment. I learned to fully trust him with my husband and my health. My dad was one of his patients, too! Dad died in 2008 but for years when I would take dad to see Dr. Platzer, I was always so pleased with the treatment he gave dad. Dr. Platzer called him "Pop" which made dad feel so welcome. One day when I took dad to see him, it began to rain after we got into the exam room. Upon leaving the exam room, Dr. Platzer's wife got her umbrella, walked dad to our car, and helped him get his seat belt on and was comfortable. That was greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten. She worked there for her husband in keeping his records and bookkeeping. I saw him not long ago at my orthopedic doctor. When I came through the door, Dr. Platzer got up from his seat and came to greet me and gave me a hug. He was a patient there since he had both knees replaced after retirement and I had one knee replaced with the other one still to go. I set with him and his wife in the waiting room. They are two of the sweetest people I have ever met! In all my years, I never had another doctor that I really liked and probably will never find another doctor just like Dr. Platzer! I don't know what happened to the person with the one review but he/she needs to know what they are posting about and stop trying to ruin someone. All hands to a wonderful man, Dr. Peter Platzer!!! One of the major problems is why I have to leave my feedback publicly instead of privately with…read moretheir feedback system: Their patient was my parent, who has dementia and cannot respond to these questions - but *I* sure could. Here are 3 major suggestions that I hope Holston Valley/Ballad takes seriously on behalf of my parent's and my own recent experience - an ambulance visit to the ER in which everything turned out to be OK. 1. PLEASE provide an obvious symbol, posted to ALL staff who interact with patients with dementia (those who have hearing deficits might also receive the same). Patients with dementia cannot answer, "What brings you in here today?" or, "What is your name and date of birth?" (to receive all their meals). To not know this ahead of interacting with patients is irresponsible and leads to patient confusion or their unintentional reporting of misinformation. 2. Make a point to communicate with the patient or their family every 60-90 minutes so they know what is going on, and at what pace. If there are electronic systems available now to let the public know where they are on a waitlist for a table in a restaurant, there can easily be one for letting patients know where they are on a call list for tests that they are awaiting to be run or interpreted. The wait time was the most frustrating part of this 2-day hospital stay (when everything was decreed "probably all right" upon initial tests in the ER), and largely that was because we had no idea what we were waiting for and how long it would be. 3. Wheelchairs: Can we have (a) several available wheelchairs per unit, that (b) include at least one normal-sized chair - not all giant-sized chairs? My parent is petite and could not sit comfortably in the XXL wheelchairs that were *finally* obtained by someone going around to other units and "stealing" them. We had wait times of 45 minutes that we later learned were because the nurse had to go around looking for a wheelchair. Honestly, people, it's a hospital - you need lots of wheelchairs, so invest in more. That was utterly ridiculous. A bonus #4: I suspect a lot of the issues noted above are also due to staff shortages. It's possible there are already efforts being made to increase staff (I know there is a national nursing shortage) - please double those efforts. Many times when a nurse appeared, she'd as quickly disappear mid-visit for something and not be findable down the hallway for 20-40 minutes. The lack of available medical staff makes everyone - staff and patients - cranky, which leads to an increasingly negative experience (and unhappy staff who quit!).

We can't get our medical records from this hospital. They are farming out your records to a company…read morethat you have to pay for them. Our new Dr can't even get them. The electronic records they sent us were not even complete. Dr. Edward Gray left out important information. The Drs in Kingsport TN are not play well with each other at the patient expense.
