Wow, well...fool me once, shame on you…read more Fool me twice, shame on me. I came here to write about a bad FedEx experience and realized...I have already written that exact same thing...and forgot about it. DO NOT SEND YOUR FEDEX PACKAGES HERE. The packages aren't being scanned when they arrive here, and so they look like they are on a truck for days. They will say "unavailable for pickup"...forever. And they are actually available for pickup. Here's my boring shipping story: Thursday morning at 5am the FedEx tracking said "on vehicle for delivery" and "should arrive before 9am". Then it updated to say, should arrive before end of day Thursday. Then it updated to say, should arrive by end of Friday (today). But, there was no new timestamp since the 5am vehicle scan... Since there was no time stamp on this package since 5am...I guessed that there probably is a scan that happens when the driver transfers the package to a FedEx/Walgreens for customer pickup...and maybe it didn't happen. I went to Walgreens, even though FedEx said "not available for pickup", and told them it was probably there, and the dimensions. They searched for it a little, and then tried to turn me away. I pointed to a box that could be it and was like "what about that?" and they were like "no, those are shipments for Walgreens, like our supplies and stuff" I pressed them further and they checked it, and it was mine. I signed for it on their scanner and a few seconds later got a push notification from FedEx "your item is now available for pickup!" These employees need more training and organization and/or FedEx needs to make sure these get scanned when they hand them over to Walgreens!

I came down here to pick up some groceries at the end of the work day before heading back to the…read morehouse. I wanted to avoid the crowds at the nearby Carrs across the street or go to the chaotic mess that is the midtown Walmart. This Walgreens location is located on the corner of Northern Lights Blvd. and Minnesota Dr. across from the Aurora Village Carrs and adjacent to Starbucks. One of the busiest intersections during rush hour, I had no desire to go to the supermarket and just wanted to be in a less crowded place. Granted, the supermarkets are cheaper for food items than Walgreens and they have larger selections, but I just wanted to do a quick in and out and not worry about parking. That was a mistake. The evening when I came in, most of the shelves were unbelievably barren or poorly stocked. I was hoping to get a few snack and drink items for the office and not have to spend additional money eating out on lunch break every day. That wasn't the case here. I was looking for 4 or 6 pack bottled water or ice tea to place in a fridge with limited space at work. Unfortunately, the Walgreens around town don't have bottle packs that size or on the times I was there, just 24/28 packs of bottled water. Ice tea bottles would have to be purchased separately. Looking at the shelves more closely, there were many empty areas in one aisle alone. It'd be a stretch to think that this store could sell out items consistently if Carrs across the way has a wider variety and discounts every single day. There are items that are better deals when they are on sale, but unavailability is a major issue. This was not a one-time thing. I have noticed that in the past several weeks every time I came in to get something. Another major problem here is their pharmacy. It was temporarily closed due to staffing and people who have prescriptions here would have to notify their doctor's office to arrange a pick up at a different location. I'm sure a lot of customers were not happy about that. The employees are friendly and helpful but their hands are tied as to the problems this store is having. This would have been a convenient spot to avoid Carrs if low inventory and being short-handed weren't a common occurrence here.

That's just naming a few. Three full aisles of Alaska merch! Went to both Anchorage Costcos first and struck out. (Will try to make a 2nd review) because I encountered a super rude guy in pick up while working for DoorDash. It was my 1st time picking up at Walmart for Grocery Pickup via DoorDash so I didn't go to the correct area and I was chastised for going to the wrong place/area & then because I was waiting for so long for an employee to assist me. By the time, he came to help I'd been waiting over 10 min. (Long story short he read the app wrong and accused me of being too late (I was not, I wasn't the 1st person assigned this order) and he had a total attitude and I was mortified by him yelling at me and basically calling me stupid for my mistake and I was damn near in tears (maybe he read me wrong) so then he proceeded to cancel the entire order on me and gaslight me, like I had the attitude. I'd gotten up early and accepted this reservation order and drove across town and was on time only to be devastated due to the my 1st cancellation ever . (1st time and only ever that I had an order cancelled especially under these untrue pretenses. I was actually told by customer service to go to that door and then after being yelled at by said employee, I then went back to customer service to inform to them of how I'd been treated only to have this guy come back up to me and yell at me some more. Meanwhile, he never listened to ANYTHING I said or tried to explain to him. He was obviously having a bad day and pushed that onto me. Unfortunately.

Wow y'all, wow. I…read moreknow tensions are high and we're getting cabin fever, but can we please show some empathy for the people that are out on the front lines? Fred Meyer's employees put themselves at risk of infection every day. They are overworked and understaffed and underpaid. They, along with medical professionals and first responders, are keeping us alive right now. The only difference is that they are paid and respected much less by our society. To clear a few things up: Instacart: is not owned by Fred Meyer. If you have a problem with them, you shouldn't put that on Fred Meyer. Also: Instacart workers are also on the front lines, and need your compassion. It's a GOOD THING: that grocery stores are being strict about returns. THIS DISCOURAGES HOARDING, in addition to being SAFE. In times like this, we should only buy what we NEED. OK, so with that soapbox out of the way: Freddies is doing a great job, all things considered. Social distancing markers are in place on the floors. Employees are constantly sanitizing and/or changing out gloves. Food is getting re-stocked only days after the hoarders take it all. Despite all the added strain, employees remain cheerful and eager to help. Oh, and they are keeping alcohol sales going...essential indeed. Let's be nice, and keep it classy, Anchorage. We'll get through this.
