He has learned so much, from letters and numbers to sharing and making friends. Every day he comes home excited to tell us what he learned. It is amazing to see how much he has grown in such a short time. The teachers are simply wonderful! They are kind, patient, and really care about each child. They make learning fun with games, songs, and hands-on activities. We feel so lucky that our son is in such a warm and loving environment where he feels safe and happy every day. The Pre-K program itself is fantastic. It gives children a strong foundation for school while encouraging creativity and curiosity and religion. What I especially love is that Catholicism is part of the curriculum. Our son has been learning about faith, kindness, and respect. It means a lot to our family that his religious growth is supported along with his academic skills. I would highly recommend the Pre-K program at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School to any parent looking for a wonderful place for their child to learn and grow! We are so grateful for this amazing experience and are excited for him to start Kindergarten at St. Teresa.

My son started in the pre-k class in 2014 and now my daughter is in the preschool (2015). Everyone is so kind and they love each child for who they are. They encourage each child to be the best version of themselves, as well as teach discipline and respect. You can feel safe leaving your child here, whether it's part-time or full time.

My son couldn't wait to go to school everyday and always had a great time while he was there. He came home with art projects, papers showing what he had learned that week, and they even brought in some people to teach the kids how to brush their teeth. Linda has a strong personality and a very strict standard of care. She does not baby the kids nor does she sugarcoat a child's behavior. She employs strict cleaning schedules for the staff, and hand washing with the kids. They love the children they care for and that is exemplified in how happy my son is when he is there, how excited he gets when it's time to go to school and simply in how I see her interact with the kids. She has rules, much like any family, and she expects children to learn from and abide by them. I don't want to bring my son to a place where he is baby'd and doesn't learn basic rules of society. She is a fantastic provider and I wouldn't take my children anywhere else. If they can't be home with me, nothing makes me happier than to have them with her.

From the beginning, we informed Small Blessings Christian Preschool that our son had a speech delay…read moreand could experience related behavioral challenges. We were aware he might struggle with transitions and were ready to work with the school to support him. During his time there, our 3-year-old had issues such as not following directions, running off, and acting out. Instead of working on the collaborative strategies we discussed or trying to understand why these behaviors were happening, the school often asked us to pick him up early and said they couldn't manage his needs. When we asked staff if they knew what triggered his behaviors, the answer was consistently that there was "no reason" or "I don't know." We've since learned from other educators and professionals that there is always a reason behind a child's behavior. That response was concerning and showed a lack of understanding in how to identify and address those reasons. Even one of their substitute teachers, Michelle, observed that his so-called "aggression" was actually him trying to play with other children--not being mean. This reinforced what we and others already believed: his behavior was misunderstood rather than intentionally harmful. Staff members described our son as an outcast and said other children were "afraid" of him. Hearing this was heartbreaking and raised serious concerns about how inclusion and emotional safety were handled in the classroom. Observations by The Children's Cabinet indicated that the concerns appeared to stem more from classroom management than from our child's behavior. We later learned that other families had similar experiences. We frequently left feeling judged and discouraged. After discussions with family, his speech therapist, The Children's Cabinet, and other schools, it became clear that our son is not aggressive. Professionals suggested his behavior may have been a response to feeling excluded or misunderstood--not intentional aggression. We also want to add that we waited to write this review so we could fully understand what was going on with our child's behavior. Since leaving Small Blessings and enrolling him in another school, he has not had a single incident of the so-called "aggression." He has been thriving. That alone speaks volumes and strongly suggests that the issue was not our child, but the environment and lack of appropriately trained staff to support him. If a school struggles to support children with developmental challenges, we believe they should be transparent about what they can and cannot handle instead of allowing families to enroll under false expectations. We were on the waitlist for a long time with the understanding that Small Blessings would be a supportive environment regardless of where our child was developmentally. The school also told us that some parents had considered withdrawing their children because of ours, suggesting their encouragement for us to leave may have been driven more by parent retention concerns than by our son's well-being. In other environments--at home and during structured activities--our son shows cooperative, positive behavior. This further reinforces that he likely felt unsafe or unsupported in that setting, which contributed to his challenges. After withdrawing him, we were given incident reports, a copy of the handbook outlining suspension and expulsion policies, and papers on how to handle a child who hits. It was disappointing to receive guidance on managing behaviors that the school itself struggled to address effectively. We're sharing this because there are no other public reviews describing experiences like ours. Others may be afraid to speak up, but through word of mouth, we've learned that other families have faced similar situations. Our goal is simply to help parents make an informed decision. If your child has no developmental delays and fits a more typical classroom mold, this school may work well for you. However, if your child has developmental, behavioral, or communication challenges, we would not recommend this program. We encourage parents to do thorough research and proceed with caution when considering enrollment. We are relieved to have moved on and are grateful to see our son thriving in a more supportive environment. In our experience, Small Blessings Christian Preschool was not equipped to support children with speech delays or related behavioral needs.

Our kids: - were excited to be there every day - were surrounded by wonderful, nurturing teachers who balanced play with development. Our kids were beyond prepared for kindergarten in every sense. - made tons of friends, including from younger and older classes because there's some cross-over play time. It's small enough that every teacher knew our kids well. - loved the facility - the rooms have a super happy energy and the backyard is shady and full of activities - had the option to participate in a wide range of extra activities that the school coordinates to take place onsite - Spanish, soccer, swimming, gymnastics, dance Both of my daughters attended from age 3 onward and I only wish we'd started there sooner because the difference in their happiness between their first preschool and Creative World was so stark. We're so grateful to everyone there who played such a pivotal role in our children's lives (and ours in taking such good care of them!). We've since recommended it to a number of friends, who've all had similarly fantastic experiences.

He also really struggled with socializing and every staff member was so warm, gentle, and patient with him. Additionally, Creative World provides enrichment opportunities you can choose to have your child participate in throughout the school day such as Spanish classes, gymnastics, Soccer Shots, and swim lessons through Little Ones Swim next door. This was so helpful as a parent because he could learn different skills and it was all taken care of during the school day. Every month they send out a schedule of snacks, events, and themes for the week. They are on top of curriculum and they stick to their plans. Miss Liz also makes sure things are running smoothly and has amazing communication with the families. I would highly recommend Creative World!
