Rita answered my questions about scheduling an appointment in Fremont and estimated prices for my four large bags of documents. She explained that the person picking up the bags would determine the actual price based on the size. The pickup was scheduled between 1pm-3p same day. I was very happy about that. The driver, Daryl arrived on time and was very helpful. He emptied the bags into the barrel and wrote up the sales receipt. He did a great job, nice guy, the bags were very heavy. I had all my questioned answered in a timely manner and they were patient as I was trying to schedule this around my dad's availability (we're on opposite sides of CA). Shred City ultimately had a better rate for what I wanted to get done so it was a no brainer. They sent me an email to confirm the service and were able to schedule us within a few days, which was even better. My dad is closing his business of 50 years and needed to shred the contents of 26 bankers boxes. The service was completed on 2/18. The driver showed up at my dad's store, shred the contents, left the empty boxes and that was it, a super smooth process! Then I was able to call, make the secure payment over the phone and I promptly received a receipt and Certificate of Destruction. It cost $208 to shred 26 bankers boxes which I thought was fair, especially since it was a mobile service where they came to us. We have more boxes to shred at my parent's house so when my dad is ready I will contact Shred City again to handle that service as well! Great job!

While sitting there I heard conversations about a range of free with a voucher to $40 and up to $80 for a simple electronic transmission of prints. The service took just over 25 minutes from walking in to registering, paying and then getting printed. The DISGRACE was the payment tablet actually asked for a tip of 15 to 25%. Really? The actual fingerprinting takes about 5 minutes and is transmitted electronically. That is the whole "service". Nearly ALL instances of getting fingerprints is a "requirement" for a job or volunteer situation. A tip, really? Not to mention that they have signed contracts with agencies for the exclusive and mandatory "service". So people cannot opt to go to RPD, SPD or the Sheriff's office where the fees are less than half the price and it would be illegal to accept a tip. I wonder if State regulators like the Nevada Gaming Control Board are aware that this business is soliciting tips from casino workers? Or if they share the tips with the agencies leadership?

And even if it's going to be a very expensive mistake they would rather make the mistake than simply check with you. The last time I was in there discovering that the entire job I ordered was botched, there was like 3 other people being told their orders were messed up too. An older lady had sent in an order of 100 invitations on Monday that needed to be sent out and they weren't done! It was Friday! And they had called and told her to come pick them up! I felt really bad for her. On top of it all they were really rude to me (not the older lady) and it felt very unprofessional. I've mentioned this to a couple friends later and they ALL SAID THE SAME THING! "They messed up my print job and then made me pay for it". This is a locally owned business in a community that is rapidly growing and WE WANT TO SUPPORT YOU! Time to get it together, guys. UPDATE. Actually I was going to delete my review because it doesn't feel good leaving a bad review in a small town but after owner responded, I'm leaving it. In my opinion Courtney, the only respectable thing to say is, -- "I'm sorry you had such a bad experience printing with us. We make mistakes sometimes and since it seems like numerous people experience us making mistakes that could have maybe been avoided, I feel strongly we need to figure out a better way to do things.
