I don't understand the low rating for this facility. They have provided the highest level of care to me. From the receptionists to the radiation technicians to Dr Gary Campbell. They have all been sensitive, kind, thorough, and professional. Most importantly they listen to you. None of my appointmentss have been rushed. I hope you never need this care but if you do this is the place to be seen. read more

This review is for Hopefest 2017 held at the Carson Tahoe Resource Center. This events was a fundraiser to raise funds for local cancer patients in need for lodging, gas, insurance copays and medications. 100% of proceeds benefited cancer patient support and no-cost Merriner Cottage Lodging. The Cancer Resource Center is located right off of the 395 freeway in Carson City. Beautiful campus on top of a hill in a peaceful setting. I took a peek and they have comfortable recliners for outpatient chemotherapy where you can look out of the windows and watch the birds eat from the many bird feeders they have around there. Spoke with some of the information staff who were very nice. The oncologists are housed in the center. Has a very homey feel there and lodging is right on the campus. Tyrone Wells, a singer/songwritern gave a free concert. You might know one of his songs from Grey's Anatomy. "Sink or Swim". He has a very melodic voice. I'm a fan. I have 4 of his CDs. There was food, water, wine, beer. Raffle tickets for $10,000 or a Ford or Toyota. Amercan Cancer Sociey was there. Huge turnout, great weather, perfect way to spend a Friday night. read more

I had hoped that because this is a cancer center, the front desk attendants would have a little more compassion. I grew very tired of watching the two older women gossip and roll their eyes at every patient that came to get help. My aunt had blood drawn the last time she came and asked for the results this time--no lab or blood work was recorded. My aunt asked to get the lab work REDONE so that she could have the results next time, the woman at the front desk said "so no appointment? this is ridiculous". Please find something better to complain about, these people are going through enough in their lives. read more

Great building, state-of-the-art facilities and fantastic staff!! Thank you!! One suggestion.... There is construction going on at the building, and the construction workers are parking their cars in the spaces at the south entrance that should be left for the patients entering the ground level/radiation oncology office. Most of us having treatment do not have handicapped parking permits, so the remaining spaces should be for us. Not for 5 construction vehicles! They can park at the north side of the building, and walk down the stairs or use the elevator. Thank you for considering this suggestion. read more

I cannot believe that Dr Kelly my mothers cancer dr just started screaming at her until she was in tears!!! She said, "you don't need to yell at me " and Dr Kelly said, "I think I do" wtf my mom is scared because she has cancer and frustrated about how long it is taking to get treatment and just voiced that concern as the lump in her neck is visibly growing daily!!! And this Dr Kelly screamed at my mother and I!! Which I had been sitting quietly as he was screaming at my mother. My mother was refered and given an appointment with this office before being released from hospital. We called their office a couple of days prior to her appointment to make sure they took her insurance and were assured they did. The day of the appointment, she was taken into the waiting room, social distancing, and told then they do take her insurance. We ended up having to schedule with another oncologist, but need to wait 11 more days. I decided to look up her insurance on line for their preferred providers. It lists these oncologists on their site. I decided to call the insurance company to verify that they have not been removed. I got an exceptional agent who verified they were still on their list of providers. She went out of her way to call that office and find out if there had been some sort of change they were u aware of. She talked to the person who works referrals and was taken aback by the way she was snippy and short with the agent. She told the agent that they do not take that insurance. They only take it for Washoe county. Well if that is not interesting, because she is in a different county and it is an AARP insurance. Interesting indeed. My complaint is with the person claiming to be handling all the insurance info for their office and her absolute attitude and behavior towards people. Today I was at this business while my mother gets radiation. Well this business ridiculously has the mask mandate still in force. I was in the waiting room completely by myself. Nobody near me at all. Vicky, the girl up front, says to me "put your mask on!" I asked "Why nobody is here. It is ridiculous that I have to put the mask on." Vicky then goes to get the mask mandate enforcer Shanna. Shanna comes out she speaks the typical mask mandate b.s. I do however want to bring up her last sentence about how "concerned they are about the safety of their customers." I then ask "Why does CTROA - Radiology Department not spray disinfectant after each patient left? The hypocrisy is so insulting. The useless masks vs effective sanitization COVID destroying spray. I was referred to Jorge Perez for oncology. I had breast cancer in 2019 and recently moved to the area and needed to establish with a new doctor. At our initial visit (video) he was OVER TWO HOURS late joining the appointment. VERY soft spoken and I struggled to hear what he was saying! He wanted baseline scans which I agreed with. Our first appt was in Dec.2020 and then he took the entire month of January off! So I had to wait until Feb. The scans showed a lesion on my liver and he ordered a needle biopsy. Talk about painful with no warning it could be so bad. At Carson Tahoe radiology they said just take some Tylenol! So I got the results this past Friday. They were positive for cancer and I read it for myself on My Chart! and guess who's back on vacation?.. Yes Dr.Perez!! I called the office to ask if he'd call me on Friday to give the results and they said he said he would. NO he did NOT call me!! So I called first thing Monday (today), and his office schedulers (Francine) had ZERO empathy for my plight! Who can I speak to about the next step in treatment?? Francine told me there's nothing they can do about it and that's just the way it is!! I asked to speak to the office manager Heath, who has yet to call me back! I've NOT spoken to anyone in that office about my results!! The kicker? Perez is RETIRING IN APRIL!! And NONE of the other doctors in the practice will allow transfers of his patients. We're stuck with a stranger, roving doctor until they can hire another oncologist! Perez had NO business taking on new patients knowing he was getting ready to retire!!! I just read a recent review of Dr. Kelly of this group was screaming at a vulnerable cancer patient!! I mean WOW!! I'm glad I'm going elsewhere!! read more

It has been a difficult year. My son was diagnosed with two different forms of cancer. We needed to travel to upwards of four appointments a week for treatment. Without the care and assistance of the Resource Center and their devoted and caring volunteers and staff we never would have been able to wage our battle against this disease. I can not thank you enough for all that you have done to help. And knowing that we are not alone in this journey is the greatest thing that keeps us going. Month after month I have had problems getting a correct order sent to the pharmacy for my oral chemo. The doctor is in a hurry, states it is no big deal if my chemo regimen is interrupted due to my chemo being late due to his incompetent staff. Plus he has made errors ordering labs, luckily I realized it and got it corrected before drawn. read more
