You feel at home the minute you walk in there. Not an expensive flashy surrounding but a at home husband and wife team thats behind the counter fixing jewelry and at the same time giving their full friendly attention to whoever walks in the door. I enjoyed just standing there watching and listening to their conversations. Caring, honest, often humorous and knowledgeable. I heard them even tell someone that they could fix it, but they would have to charge more because it needed a heating gun which they didn't have. Otherwise they could fix it but if they took it to ___ who has one, they could repair it cheaper. Who does that nowadays? They are the cutest couple ever, at ease, little funny bickering back and forth like long married couples do. What was amazing is what my daughters cross pendant looked like when I picked it up. Unbelievably beautiful and strong. The cost? Let's put it this way, i have never argued with an establishment that the cost was way to low and tried to pay more but no deal. I walked out a different person than when I first went in. It reminded me that there still is really good people out there and smiled for the rest of the day. Thank you so much and God Bless. Ill be seeing you again!5 read more

**Updated** This review is for Carson Tahoe Jewelers, registered under Business License No. BL-008801-2024, located at 675 Fairview Dr. #230, Carson City, NV 89701. Due to the business's failure to complete the agreed-upon services and return my property, I have filed a Code Enforcement complaint with the Carson City Community Development Department against the licensed business. On May 29, 2026, I entrusted my ring to the business for a limited, agreed-upon modification and provided reference photos of the requested design. The agreed-upon work was limited to: * Removing the center diamond. * Setting the center diamond into a plain solid white gold band. * Soldering the original ring together so the remaining side diamonds formed a continuous band, with no other modifications. The estimated completion time was two weeks. After repeated delays, missed deadlines, and lack of communication, I requested that Mrs. Kynett stop the work and return my ring in its original condition. On July 9, 2026, Mrs. Kynett agreed, assured me the ring had been restored to its original condition, and repeatedly promised to return my property. Despite these assurances, the ring was never returned, and the promised return date continued to be pushed back week after week. Finally, on July 26, 2026, Mrs. Kynett scheduled a meeting to return my ring but failed to appear. She later stated she would personally deliver it to me that evening but failed to do so. As of the date of this review, despite numerous requests and repeated assurances, my property has still not been returned. I am documenting and sharing these events so that other consumers can make informed decisions before entrusting this business with their personal property. ** I have 2 police reports filed against them and on July 28th, My property was partially returned in damaged condition, not all diamonds that the ring once held were given back and what was once a ring they turned into scraps of metal balls. Completely disregarding what they've done, I was told that I was trespassed and asked to leave and to take them to court. (Under Carson City Sheriff's Deputy supervision) read more

I have been struggling with review for a few months now. I brought my gold necklace into a jewelry repair shop in south Reno about a year ago to replace a band. They gave me a price and a date for picking it up. I received a claim and it was ready on the date they gave me and I picked it up. Not quite the case with Carson Tahoe Jewelry. I needed a clasp replaced on the same necklace and decided to go local. So I went in to drop off my necklace and was told they would use a used one to save me some money. Good start and appreciated them looking out for me. I was told they would call me in two weeks when it was ready. I called three weeks later to find out it wasn't ready yet but it would be on x date. I stopped in to pick it up only to find the clasp did not work with the band. That started some frantic filing prying etc to get it to fit. It finally was able to work but a bit clunky. I was told they would order a new one to fix the problem but after all this I can't trust it would be done right or on time. read more

I'll start by saying that I buy and change up (have pieces re-made when I'm sick of a design or it is out of style) a LOT of jewelry. I'm fairly loyal to a local Reno shop, but moved closer to Carson so I thought I'd give this place a try. Dropped off a piece to be repaired and the owner (male) said it would be done in a week. Three weeks or so later I hadn't heard from them so I stopped by. Oops, they said. The repair hadn't been started yet. About a week later I get a call saying the repair is in progress and will be done by the end of the day, but they will call me. Another two weeks go by and I decide to go in in person again. The gal who was working on my repair hasn't shown up to work in days so my job was forgotten about. They said they'd do it while I wait, so I did. An hour and a half later, it was done. NOT because it was a complicated repair, but because any time someone walked into the shop she'd stop working on my job and chat with or help someone else. I will NEVER go back to this obviously disorganized, poorly run business! read more

First-time customer. Wonderful people, excellent craftsmanship, and even got my ring back (re-size) earlier than expected. I will definitely recommend this shop to others and I'll be a repeat customer. read more

I dropped off my silver and turquoise squash necklace. It was missing a few beads. That was three weeks ago. I went in today and it was not finished. She commented that she had polished it. Unfortunately, it does not lie flat! The beads unfortunately don't let it lie flat with all the silver and turquoise conscious facing forward I was also told five days ago that she would send me pictures of turquoise beads to complete another necklace. I never those pictures. And today more excuses as to why the pictures were not sent. Will definitely not recommend this business to anyone But luckily, she did not charge me because she did not complete what I had asked for read more

Great local jewelry shop! They fixed up my wedding set (replaced a stone, tightened all my stones, replaced the prongs on my main stone, sauntered my rings together and had it absolutely shining) in only 2 days! Excellent customer service, fair, up front pricing and wonderful people. Go see Charae! read more

These folks are honest Hand very helpful. They referred me to a reputable coin collector that gives me hope in not getting ripped off. Also they have A great watch repair source at decent pricing. They fixed my Rolex watch for $300 when others charged $800. read more

Just a heads-up if you're thinking about bringing valuable or sentimental jewelry to this shop. I brought in a diamond necklace for a simple chain repair. It ended up getting lost, and I wasn't told right away. I made several trips expecting to pick it up, only to find out, right before leaving for vacation, that it had gone missing. Todd and Charae are friendly in person, but communication throughout the entire experience was seriously lacking. I was eventually compensated, but that does not make up for the sentimental value of the necklace. A few weeks later, Todd called to say the necklace that had been "temporarily misplaced" was found. Since then, I have followed up with texts, calls, and even a letter, and I still have not received any response. I do not know if the necklace was actually recovered, and the whole thing feels confusing and unresolved. Just sharing my experience. I personally would not trust them with anything irreplaceable. read more

I was hesitant to drop off my wedding ring for sizing at ANY Jeweler..but I took a chance on this place.. the ring is platinum with a solitary diamond sitting up high. They replaced the prongs with white gold and I picked it up today. it fits like a glove and is much stronger and shined up..they did a beautiful job and very reasonably priced. My new go-to jeweler going forward. Thankyou Carson Tahoe Jewelers I can finally wear my ring again. Cynthia read more

I was just in the store and was verbally abused and pushed by someone in the store. I called the police and the owners denied what had happened in front of their faces. I would not recommend going into the store ever. Sadly, the most unprofessional jewelers I've ever done business with. read more

These are some talented and dedicated folks. I brought my swiss watch in for a battery, and it got complicated, but their watchmaker did a great job and the watch was returned in a couple of days, cleaned and in perfect condition. At the other end of the spectrum, I have cheap watch I use when traveling overseas, and that had a very inexpensive but unique closure. Todd managed to get it opened., battery replaced and back in service while I waited. They even stayed open late waiting for me - nicest folks. read more

I am a serious advocate for Carson-Tahoe Jewelry. I came in with a special request for a heavy pure platinum ring. I knew it was not a readily available item and had reservations about getting what I wanted. Todd and Charae were very patient and assuring that my custom ring could be created. My overly precise requirements were all accommodated, and the final product was everything I had hoped for. An A+ in my book. read more

Long before my sister and I were a twinkle in my parents eyes...my dad made a promise. He surprised my mom by putting a diamond promise ring (later to be named 'chip') in their cigarette packs in the freezer, and devised a plan. Later that day he asked my mom if she'd grab him a pack of smokes. Upon opening the freezer she found the ring...and I would imagine squealed with glee. This eventually led to marriage...and a great kid...me duh! Ok so I guess my sisters are pretty cool too, but I'm off topic! A few days ago, my mother took chip off to wash her hands, and it fell into the garbage disposal. Unknown to my mother, who turned on the disposal and whose heart dropped the minute she heard the awful noise only metal against blades makes. Retrieving the ring proved her fears right. Mangled and bent, the ring was bad...but it still had its diamond in place!! Therefore my sister took to Yelp in order to find a jeweler. The good reviews here led the family to Carson Tahoe Jewelry. My sister went in and was greeted by Mitch who was busy at work fixing other jewelry. She told them the story of the ring and Mitch stopped what he was doing and says..."Let's do this now!" She handed him the ring and legitimately 5 min later it looked as if the ring had never even fell into the disposal...aka the place where jewelry seldom returns. Family. Is the word that comes to mind when I think Carson Tahoe Jewelry...because they care. read more

Mitch was very helpful in resizing my wedding ring. He saw me same day, super friendly and he is located near my house. The price was fair as I called other jewelers to resize my ring and they were double the price and send out the rings to another company. I highly recommend Mitch! read more

I have a jewelry store in Reno that is allowing me to meet with potential buyers of my ring for my safety. I had a guy from Gardnerville ask to meet half way, so I was looking for a safe place to meet him. I called this place because of the high reviews and the owner laughed at me and turned me away. I guess my safety isn't a concern. They wont see any business from me or my family. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I try my best to support local small businesses. I took my ring here after having damaged it during a seizure. It was slightly bent out of shape and lost a tiny diamond along the side. I took it in for a quote and they told me $100 to fix it. Great! I left my ring for a few weeks. I got a call to come pick it up on Friday, June 21 around 1:00 PM. They said they'd only be open until 3PM on Friday and would only be open 10-12 on Saturday. And that after that they'd be closed until July 10th. So I rushed over to pick up my ring. It was shiny and "looked" ok, so I left quickly to return to work. As I was at my desk, of course after 3 PM. I noticed my middle stone was shaking. So I took off my ring to wiggle it, only to notice the entire center stone was loose and spinning. Mind you, the center stone is 1 carat and my main stone! I had to wait until they opened at 10 on Saturday to bring it in. The owner took a look and said "oh I normally check all this stuff. I don't know what happened." So he took it to his desk to "fix" it again. Took around 15 minutes and gave it back to me. It appeared fixed again. So we left, got in the car and got home. Of course, by now it was past 12 PM and he would not be open again until July 10th. We took a close look at the ring and noticed he bent every single prong on my ring. So much so that one of the two smaller stones is now bent up under the center stone, and the outside of the ring is still mis-shaped. The stone he was supposed to replace on the side, was not set properly and it does not match the color of the other stones. It's much darker. Every single prong is snagging on fabric, to the point I cannot wear my ring, in fear of losing a stone. I've now paid for a service that I didn't get and left with a ring that is worse than when we started. Mind you, the reason he is closed is for eye surgery. I should've known not to trust this place off of the other reviews. But I tried my best to go to a local small business instead of a big chain jewelry repair. Don't go here. I am not pleased with the service I got at all. I now have to pay to try and get my ring really fixed, after I've paid to have it ruined by this shop. (I also have a video of my center stone spinning as proof, but YELP won't let me post a video) read more

OUTSTANDING! If you want to do business with a trustworthy mom and pop shop, I highly recommend this little shop! BEST PRICES IN TOWN. I had work done on a ring, charms put on a bracelet and I purchased a neckless while there ( I couldn't help myself ) work was impeccable and the best customer service. Outstanding customer service, workmanship and pricing!!! I took in my Navy Seabee's ring for sizing, I mentioned that I would only be in town for a few days and if they could do their best to complete the job, in just a few days I received a call that it was complete. Do not go here! The woman at the front counter was horribly rude right from the start. After they initially "resized" my ring, it was still too small (cutting off the circulation to my finger). The lady continued to tell me that I was wrong and that my ring would surely fall off if it was made any bigger. In the end, I had to have them resize the ring three times before it fit my finger. They said that they cleaned me ring, but it was not even close to being clean after they finished. I have never been treated so horribly. If you pay for a service, you should get what you paid for without any hassle. read more

I recently had four rings resized at Carson Tahoe Jewelry and I am extremely pleased with the results. I went to this business to get my engagement ring and another ring resized. I also wanted a real stone placed in the second ring. First, they decided that I didn't need a new stone and said it wasn't worth it to put an amethyst as opposed to the cheap, purple stone that was in the ring. Then, I went in to get the rings back and at first glance they were great. They fit pretty well so I was happy. When I got home I examined the rings further and saw that not only were they dirty but both bands were very lumpy. I could clearly see the section that was put in to extend the size of the ring. I am very disappointed especially because I was referred to this place by a friend. read more

Carson Tahoe Jewelers - It's clear where they put the piece to extend the size and furthermore it irritates the inside of my finger. - Jewelry Near Me - Carson City, Nevada

I was referred here by a friend and I'm so thankful I took their recommendation. Mitch and Sherry are absolutely fantastic! Mitch was able to swap out batteries on some rather tricky watches that ranged from average to expensive. He also resized them and continually checked to make sure the fit was just right. Sherry was charming and friendly as we chatted while Mitch worked away. This locally owned shop does everything from watches of all varieties, clocks, and other time pieces, to fine jewelry too. If you need anything related to what Mitch can do, then stop in and see them. This was definitely worth the drive from Reno for me. All in all, Mitch got 6 watches done in less than an hour. Professonal, clean, local, fair prices, friendly, and quality work. Thanks guys!! read more

My husband went in to this place to get a new battery for his watch. Not only did they scratch the back of his expensive watch they were whispering about him and the lady walked off saying " That's his problem". My husband was felt degraded. The female employee made me husband feel like he had a stolen watch. We can only assume she was thinking that because my husband has long hair. As ridiculous as that sounds. He had to go back in this morning because the battery that was replaced was not working, but adjusted it so it worked. Once my husband said what he did for a living (he is a high rise window cleaner) they then, decided he was ok to do business with. This place is judgmental and they discriminate. Will NEVER go back in to be degraded. read more

I recently had some condensation in my watch and it stopped running. My wife, thinking she was doing me a favor, took it to Jarrad for a repair estimate.
