Carson City Florist's owner, Tom Jones refused to refund any of our money. He claimed it was not his fault due to errors made by Walton's Funeral Home. However, his story includes the fact that he misdelivered the floral arrangements to the wrong casket, and failed to confirm the name of the person in the casket, who was not our mother, which was clearly listed on his work order. None of that is due to any fault of ours. We are simply a family in mourning. We can't re-do the burial. We should at the very least receive a refund. Walton's Funeral Home offered to refund us their cost of the burial service, $595. We felt that was fair and accepted their offer. Carson City Florist Tom Jones refuses to even discuss refunding us the balance of $308.84. He stated outright that he will not refund any amount without us taking him to court. Small claims court costs $111 to file, plus the cost of a process server. To date, we have not received an apology nor a refund in any amount for products and services that we paid for and never received from Carson City Florist.

Paths run in a twisty pattern that makes it easy to see everything and hard to lose your bearings (and also give access to the meadow). This is a great place to bring the whole family. My daughter (almost two) and I spent the better part of two hours wandering around, enjoying the flora and the different examples of what they call Best Management Practices - examples of building and landscaping methods that best minimize erosion and control water runoff. It's an interesting way to involve everyone - homeowners and renters a like - in preserving Lake Tahoe. It also makes for a really cool visit, because it almost feels like you're wandering through what's left of Middle Earth, finding a new "house" around each turn. Each structure has signage explaining why it benefits the basin. The plants are all clearly labeled, though with a toddler in tow I wasn't able to hunt down what this giant shrub in growing in our backyard (maybe next trip we'll take da hubby with us). There's a little "Greek" theater set up at the beginning of the path - great spot to take a knee and have a snack after exploring.

What got our attention was, Rios Ranch came out and donated hay to feed the horses. These guys came out in a timely manner. We actually helped in the stacking process since multiple locations were used to store the hay. The husband Artemio actually came out to deliver and hand stack the hay himself. Their prices are extremely reasonable and I found out, the owner Jeni is planning on growing organic peppers, sweet and the kind that will hurt you. I will start using them in the future for hay purchases. Highly recommended you try these wonderful people for your hay needs. I'm in the process of ordering from Jenny again. This is another if many orders I have placed with them. They always come through with a very superior product! This order was supposed to be delivered in a couple of weeks, but a situation came up and they were able to, in very short notice, make a delivery with a days notice. And, they delivered it all pretty inexpensively. If you're doing a garden project in the Sierra, especially one involving big trees, I recommend talking to them.
