Warning: this review is honest and potentially heartbreaking if you're expecting a great experience at Carson's. And I promise this isn't personal.. I don't even know who Carson is, only that he appears to employ half of the local high schoolers. Came into town for a weekend with family and brought our group of six in for Sunday Morning brunch. What we got was an experience comparable to a Tuesday at the Days Inn complementary breakfast in the hotel lobby. Decor and all. Even an optimist would tell you the mimosa glass came half empty; lacking any bubbles or even an ounce of refreshment. The biscuits were 8 parts flour, 1 part water, with actual feedback,"It tastes like I'm eating a stress ball." We didn't venture into the lunch line, as the prison caliber pancakes were more than enough for us. In an effort to not appear to be a self righteous small town buffet hater, props are given only where props are due. The lady making the omelette was polite and yielded a decent omelette. In summary we spent $110 before tip for 6 people, for two cups of coffee, and half of a mimosa. Quality family time was gifted to us with a 20 min wait, though. So thanks? If money isn't a problem and you feel like you have plenty to spare, I suggest a more satisfactory experience by throwing dollars bills into a fire pit to solve that childhood curiosity of what burning money smells like...hint it smells better than Carson's. read more

Oh how I hate to do this! But you only get one shot at a Thanksgiving meal. Their menu looked absolutely amazing for takeout and I thought it would be the sure fire answer to our holiday meal. Boy was I wrong! It smelled and tasted like something from a nursing home or worse!! The dogs are getting the rest! Honestly, we are the most easy people to please! I would've much rather had McDonald's! At $30 a pop, it's just not fair. I do not recommend Carson's food. read more

This was my first time here and the food was good but the service was great! Everyone was very friendly and attentive...Nanna was handing out crab legs to at a time. The food was very fresh and appealing to the eye. The owners and managers (I guess) made rounds to see how the dining experience was going. I can't comment on the catering part of the business, because I have never used those services. However, Carson's also has a buffet style dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings 4-8pm and Sundays for brunch. There used to be a buffet on Thursdays as well, but that no longer exists. I have been to Carson's for both Thursday's Italian night once or twice and also several times over the past few years for Friday's seafood buffet. So, speaking mainly of the seafood buffet... I have to admit that I really liked it at first, but the place has gone downhill. First of all, the cost has gone up at least $6 or $7 and there is no reason for it - nothing on the menu has really changed and the place looks the same. The restaurant is made up of 6 different rooms of all different sizes, including the room where all of the food is. So, it is possible that you have to walk pretty far to get to the buffet. However, this isn't really an issue for me, but it may be for some. My biggest gripe is the food quality and poor service. My last visit was a while ago; I went with a friend who had a $50 gift certificate. After drinks (non-alcoholic!), tax, and a tip, we still forked out another $40 over and above the $50 gift card. I cannot tell you how much I love, love, love fish, shrimp, mussels and all kinds of seafood, but Carson's has, unfortunately, become sub-par. I will not be returning anytime soon. read more

Very disappointed in the job they did for my son and daughter in laws wedding this past weekend July 9,2016. It was as if all the things we discussed during our consultation and countless meetings was told to us that is would be one way and it was not. The young people who worked the event though did work very hard, just that no senior person from the caterer bothered to supervise them. ISSUES: Asked for fresh green beans on the buffet were told they would be and they were as close to canned as I could think of. We were to have a cheese, pepperoni and vegetable display, got there and it was some dry old carrots there and no display to speak of, I was very disappointed in this, could have done better myself. Cookie display table should have been out of the world since we made approx 110 dozen cookies, it was also scarce, we had to tell them to put out our cookies, I called and reminded them that there would be cookies stored in the walk in fridge, I was told by Beulah that they always check the fridges and they didn't even know there were cookies in there. Again Beulah's lack of communication to her staff. I had expressed to Beulah several times about the food being hot from first guest to the last and the food was only luke warm at best and I was one of the first to eat being the mother of the groom. The staff was throwing out half full drinks of our guests and they had to go get a new drink countless times, we were paying per drink, this was unacceptable. The biggest issue of all was the CAKE, they did not even serve cake to the bridal table because none of them were sitting at the head table at that time, they were mingling around, none of the bridal table including the bride and groom got cake, because when we asked they said someone told them to pitch the leftover cake!!!!!!! WTH. Myself who paid them and the mother of the bride did not tell them this, just poor , very poor. We inquire with family and at least 30/40 people did not get any cake, and they said there was no cake left either impossible. One server said they pitched it and the other told us there was not any more, and myself, the brides mother and the bride and groom seen half the wedding cake in the kitchen and suddenly it was gone, did they drop it on floor or throw it away, well we have no idea. Also I paid extra to have light and tulle on the head table $80 and all they did was out two strings of Christmas lights under the skirting, could have done this myself, and $80 for this please. All in all due to all of these issues I would not use or recommend them, as Beulah never even showed up at the event to supervise the young people working for them and clearly they were not able to handle this important event. DONT GO. THE OLD MANAGEMENT WAS MUCH BETTER. We made a reservation for 6:00. We arrived on time and there was no one at the front to greet or seat for a good 5 minutes. There was one couple ahead of us with no reservation. The hostess came and asked if the first couple had reservations. They said no. I spoke up and said we do. She asked our name and scratched it off the list. She then seated the other other couple. In the meantime two other couples arrived (about 6:10) and another person came and asked their names. They both had reservations for 6:00 as well. The hostess came back and the second lady told her to seat the second couple that came in after us. The hostess started to say we were there first but she was interrupted and was told to seat the couple. Another 3 minutes went by with no one coming back. We left. 8/17/19 - My boyfriend and I had such a great night at a friends wedding catered by Carson's. I pictured the night ending with us crawling into bed and sleeping until noon the next day. 7AM hit and we were racing each other to our only bathroom. Spending hours on the toilet. Rubbing our butts raw. The only way I can explain it - my sphincter was the fiery gates of hell and the devil himself was trying to break out. There was no holding him back!! We later get a text from the bride explaining that 1/3 of the people at her wedding were blowing up her phone because we were all blowing up our toilets! The only explanation I have for the other 2/3 of the wedding guests not getting sick would be the simple fact that Carson's ran out of food (which was paid for per plate ) read more

60 people at our 8/17/19 wedding ended up with diarrhea from Carson's.. That was 1/3 of the guests we had at our wedding. Tables 13-18 along with my husband and I all had it within 6 hours so something went wrong in the food preparation. Not one time did the owner reach out and apologize or even reach out, instead, he has been ignoring our phone calls and emails. Extremely unprofessional and childish for someone who owns a catering business. Had my daughters wedding at the Barn at Ligoniee Valley Saturday 10-30-21. Was HUGELY disappointed in service. The woman supposed to be our coordinator for the day was an hour late and could NOR be reached by anyone by phone. The Groom's stepmother had to do our cookie table. Everything seemed disorganized and SLOW. the food didn't taste the same as at the sampling and we had several complaints of it being cold. My daughter requested the hot choc/ cider bars, obviously paid extra for that, and it was haphazardly thrown together on a corner of the bar last minute. Our guests were clearing their own tables. Half the guests left before the cake was brought out because it took so long after the cake cutting to see any of it. Just VERY unhappy with service. We made the best of it but it certainly didn't meet our expectations. The 3 rating is because the venue is beautiful. Even that though was cut because there were dead flies and moths on windowsills and the "brides dressing room" could have been cleaner and didn't even have hooks to hang her gown. read more

I didn't get a chance to book this vendor. We set-up a tasting appointment with their event planner Beluah. After we drove the 45 minutes to Scottdale we found out she would not be there because she was at another wedding. The staff at the restaurant was very polite and helped to find us catering menus, but the food itself was under par. I never received a follow up email apologizing for not showing up from Beluah. went to carsons for first time for seafood buffet. Disappointing, is best I could say. Cod was mushy and tasteless, tilapia was overcooked and flavored with hot sauce to cover prep. Crab cakes were over cooked and dry and hard on outside and very little crab. Fried and coconut shrimp were ok. calimari rubbery and dry. Peel and eat shrimp was plentiful and cooked just right. Tried the clam chowder which was thick and creamy but did not find one piece of clam . Also tried the beef tenderloin, they need to discover seasonings, appeared to be very nice piece of beef but they just baked and served. To make things even worse, it was 90 degrees outside and about80 to 85 inside as the wait staff said the air conditioning was not working if they are using this buffet as marketing for their catering they need to try harder, cookies were dry and hard, cheese cake the same dry and hard. For $13.99 for seafood buffet and all you can eat you can't expect the best quality but for a catering company trying to promote their product I expected better. I heard similar comments from other tables. One exception was from those that opted to pay $29.99 to include crab legs, they were eating their fill and going back and back for more crab legs which must have Been good or they just wanted to try and get their money's worth. I may try this again when weather is cooler but it will not be a destination dinner, it will be a in the neighborhood let's try it again. read more
