The most reasonable pricing was provided by Legion Property Inspections. I discussed the job with their inspector Jesse and found him to be very knowledgeable and thorough in his description of their services. I usually do not take the lowest bid on a project but was impressed by Jesse's knowledge and followup and set a date for the inspection. Jesse arrived 10 minutes early and thoroughly reviewed the inspection process. We then took a tour of our home and he pointed out the areas that would be most prone to mold and stated that he would place primary focus on those areas. The inspection included sending air samples out for a full report, and at the conclusion, Jesse explained the areas that need the most attention regardless of whether mold exists. We have not received the final report as yet, but I was extremely pleased with Jesse and Legion Property Inspectors and would highly recommend them for anyone needing a reasonable and knowledgeable home inspection.

Their communication and reviews had me sold. Then when they installed the equipment it didn't match what we paid for. The error was recognized by me and they offered me an extended warranty as a result. Due to their great service during this time I felt like they resolved my issue. There were also hiccups with the air unit that they fixed. Fast forward to 2026 when we needed a new water heater. We received several quotes and this one was comparable. They installed it a few days later and all appeared well. We paid $575 for the permit process to Balanced Comfort. They said we would get the inspection within 1-2 weeks. I called three different times and was told they did the paperwork, and lastly to call the city myself. When I called the city they said it had never been filed. I had to call Balanced Comfort again and again to get the plumbing manager to call me back. When he did it's clear he doesn't have customer service training. He's rude and was like oh well it's filed now. It took six weeks total and action on my part or it may never have been completed, a paid service. Next up the inspection. spoiler alert! We didn't pass. The inspector was clear they cut corners and should have known better. He advised I call the company and let them know. When I did, the plumbing manager was beyond rude to me and said "these things happen".... I will never give them my business again.

We had taken over our project from a contractor and discovered that the Title 24 energy compliance work we were told was completed had not actually been done. I knew nothing about the process, but after submitting an inquiry through Barrier Energy's website, Logan responded in less than an hour, provided a quote, scheduled the inspection quickly, and communicated clearly the entire time. They were thorough, responsive, and proactive, even reaching out directly to my architect to review the plans and offer assistance. After a difficult experience with our original contractor, it was such a relief to work with someone so professional, helpful, and diligent. I'm not sure how their pricing compares, but the service and peace of mind were absolutely worth it. I highly recommend Logan and Barrier Energy.

The AC installer got the permit but just told me to call Barrier Energy for the testing. I had had HERS testing at a previous house, so I wasn't too worried and didn't ask the price. Two guys were at my house for less than an hour, and they were very nice, professional, and clean. Our ducts passed. But then I got the invoice, for over $450. When I complained, the owner basically said this was their standard fee for HERS testing; they offered to take 10% off my bill. So overall, they gave me good service but at what I think was an exorbitant price.

We had a new HVAC unit installed and this was the company that my HVAC installers had called for…read morethe inspection. There were pluses and minuses with this experience; although, the minuses outweigh the pluses. Let me start with the scheduler whom I will say is quite persistent. Called twice within a 5 minute period of time, and then texted... that's fine. But the urgency behind the messages were a bit frustrating. I had scheduled a time for them to come out which was to be Memorial Day between 12 and 3. So, on the day of the first scheduled appointment, I got a text an hour or so BEFORE the scheduled time telling me a tech was in the area and could come by early. We weren't home, so I had to reschedule for a couple of days later (same time slot). I will say, the scheduler didn't really give me direction as to where this inspector was going to inspect... the ducts? The attic? The air vents? The unit the roof? No guidance whatsoever... I had to ask questions since I've never been through this process before. THEN when the tech sowed up the rest of the story happened. He was super polite and courteous, but he never offered to wear booties in my home and I had to tell him those were needed on all carpeted areas. He was super efficient and quick which I appreciated but he left a mess behind. We live in a 50!year old house that still has popcorn ceilings in some areas, and when he tested the air return, a bunch of popcorn fell into the carpet and tiled areas. Sadly, the guy just left it like that and didn't even bother to clean up after himself... not good! So, my recommendation to the owners of this business is to coach your people to offer booties for their shoes when they enter a home AND vacuum your mess up. I wasn't very happy that I had just vacuumed a few hours prior and a mess ensued by a contractor without being cleaned up.
