This company has really declined in service and ability. I admit I am very frustrated as I have spent over 20k here. First we had our air conditioner and furnace replaced. Their communication and reviews had me sold. Then when they installed the equipment it didn't match what we paid for. The error was recognized by me and they offered me an extended warranty as a result. Due to their great service during this time I felt like they resolved my issue. There were also hiccups with the air unit that they fixed. Fast forward to 2026 when we needed a new water heater. We received several quotes and this one was comparable. They installed it a few days later and all appeared well. We paid $575 for the permit process to Balanced Comfort. They said we would get the inspection within 1-2 weeks. I called three different times and was told they did the paperwork, and lastly to call the city myself. When I called the city they said it had never been filed. I had to call Balanced Comfort again and again to get the plumbing manager to call me back. When he did it's clear he doesn't have customer service training. He's rude and was like oh well it's filed now. It took six weeks total and action on my part or it may never have been completed, a paid service. Next up the inspection. spoiler alert! We didn't pass. The inspector was clear they cut corners and should have known better. He advised I call the company and let them know. When I did, the plumbing manager was beyond rude to me and said "these things happen".... I will never give them my business again. read more

Terrible company I have the blower under warranty and they're refusing to replace it because they haven't been out in a couple of years. Keep in mind that that's saving them money by me not utilizing their free 5 year service of product once installed (I'm in outside sales so being home costs me money). Very untrustworthy company. Had them come out to check our HVAC system for a freon leak. Before coming out I confirmed with manager that there would be no diagnostic fee. When technician visited he crafted an estimate of over $3000 in repairs, which were not needed. I had 3 other companies inspect the system and none of them recommended any of the repairs they recommended. In fact 1 year later after not doing anything the system is still running totally fine. They are also still trying to bill me $225 for a diagnostic fee! I have requested multiple times for them to remove it but they still have not. After checking my unit I was told I need a compressor and only one available at $7900. Also recommended full unit at $18000 and full hvac from $25000 to $42000. I asked tech to come back with quotes that evening. I had 2 other companies check my unit that and both said I had a Freon leak and compressor works fine! I asked for a descale of my tankless water heater that they had for $99 dollar special which was a lie $440.00 dollars was the total for a 30 minute job for that technician that sat in his vehicle through the whole process. I requested for the refund which they said would be done but the conversation went dead once they said they would take care of it it's been a week no resolve not returned phone call, dead conversation. Do not use balance comfort they are frauds. They recommend aeroseal for our ducts without checking if we were candidates. When the subcontractor came to seal our ducts the aeroseal sprayed out everywhere and the sub stated we were not candidates for this work due to the size of the gaps in our ducts. It's a long story of back and forth messages between us and them and basically they said that the work was complete and stuck us with the loan. Today I finally went under the house to see the gaps myself and I'm so disgusted with balanced and their techs Nick and Tommy for allowing this to happens. Talked w our insurance about a stoppage decided to go with BC for a better price/deal on mainline clear out and a AC tune up. My husband confirmed w rep over the phone it was only $73 as advertised. Technician Estevan came out 1hr later and was kind. We only called to clear our mainline but tech started looking in other places for what idk spent some time in his truck, quoted us over $1k to do other things that we did not ask for still charged us $90 for coming out and truly did nothing really. I called to cancel the AC tune up for the next day bc no way. Told the woman over the phone what happened and she sounded indifferent/annoyed. No asking if I wanted to speak to someone else, one small apology. Just spend your money elsewhere. read more

Be aware of this company. I recently had a motherboard replaced and the heater was working. A month later the cooling system wasn't working. Balanced Comfort stated that they were going to charge the service fee of $89 and would not be able to come out until the next day. I informed them that it is the motherboard but BC stated it is a cooling issue. Called a different company out for a second opinion and they found that the BC technician did not connect the cooling line. I called BC twice (3/18/26 & 3/25/26) to speak with the service manager requesting for the $317 refund to make me whole again as this should have never happened if the technician did it correct the first time, but have not heard back. I am hoping this was an honest mistake and not purposefully done to rip me off. read more

My cooling maintenance I had to tell 2 jokers where my returns and supplies were in a mobile home, what? And they were here maybe 20 minutes the beginning of May. Now fast forward I call, I get AI on the phone twice, I call back a third time and got an actual human. Oh I'm sorry did you need service. Duh. I was then placed on hold for 12 minutes after leavening all my info, member info, address again. Receptionist comes back, new policy if you have an active home warranty we can't service you, new management. But yet you took 180 again in membership? Shortly after writing a review about not being able to move forward with the fixes that the final inspector said needed to be done, I was able to secure an appt. for today. The 2 young men that showed up, Jose & Jamie, were great!!!!!!!!!! They went above and beyond what they were here to do and got the heat pump working correctly, which wasn't on their list of things that needed done. They rewired and reconfigured everything so it is now working the way that it should! We are very happy with the work that was done and hope that now we can move forward with the final county inspection and get this all taken care of and be done with it all. I had an HVAC system installed. The job and interaction with employees went well. I gave a 5-star review. However,I was never furnished with a single piece of paper, including warranty, contract, invoice, etc. except for owner manual. I have made six calls to no avail. I need this information asap (as I've explained to them) for the new buyer. No response. Monday morning will be my 7th call. I'm so very, very disappointed in their service from the business end. I don't even know the model # or company who manufactured the unit. I need the warranty or are the new buyers just supposed to take my word for the warranty. I purchased a new AC unit from Balance and Comfort in 4/2024, within 3 months my AC was only blowing hot air. When the tech came out, they said that the AC was installed incorrectly, and the mother board was fried. They replaced the mother board and then on 7/24/2025 my whole unit stopped working no power to the unit or the thermostat. I called and scheduled a repair appt for 7/25/2025 for the hours of 8am-10am. When 11am came and still no one came I called them and they said they were no longer going to service my house because in March of 2025 their pluming tech case out to do a free plumbing check up and suggested I have my tankless water heater flushed. I agreed and paid for that service. When he was done he wasn't able to get the water heater to turn back on and it was discovered that the mother board was fried. After going back and forth with them because they wanted me to pay thousands to get a brand new water heater installed when it was their techs fault for frying the mother board remember I had NO previous issues with the water heater and only did the flush based on the recommendation of the technician. Because of the company's inability to hire knowledgeable technicians I constantly had problems with them. I would have left their business a long time ago but because the AC I purchased through them is only 15 months old, and I purchased the Comfort Club Membership I called them and they're refusing to come fix what is probably an issue they created by again not installing something correctly. Save your money and go somewhere else. UPDATE AFTER RESPONSE. I made an appt with your company and when I called because no one showed up I was told that the company was no longer going to provide services to me because of the Water Heater issue. I have called another repair company and was told that the wiring your company did was done incorrectly which caused burned wiring and a bad sensor. Paid Balanced Comfort and Cooling to come to my house and diagnose my HVAC. After my HVAC was diagnosed, I was told my circuit board was the issue. The estimate for the fix was $811.45. My HVAC system is 2 years old so I mentioned that I wanted to check if it was under warranty before having him proceed with the work. The technician said it wouldn't be under warranty and that he had the part at the shop and could fix it right then and there. I told him no and found out that my HVAC was under warranty. When the other company came out to diagnose my HVAC, they said the circuit board was perfectly fine and that all that needed to be replaced was the gas connector which was a $100 fix. Feel like since I am a female, he was trying to scam me. UPDATE: I received a phone call and an apology for what happened. I am hoping there was just a misunderstanding and that they really take care of their customers as other reviews show. I really appreciate the apology and the respect I received over the phone. We wanted to find a HVAC service company that was familiar with and knew how to clean an American Standard AccuClean whole filter. It was installed by Marthedal AC with our new HVAC system in 2019. Unfortunately, Marthedal went out of business in 2021 and was bought by Lee's and we have struggled since to find a company. We tried Lee's for a couple year but weren't thoroughly happy with them either. They too did not know how to clean our filter. So many other companies also had no idea what the filter was and how to clean it. We called Balanced Comfort after a recommendation from our neighbor and we were thoroughly impressed after the first phone call. Not only did they know what the whole house filter was and knew how to clean it, their price was a third less than what other companies charge. We set an appointment and Say Vang came out and he was professional, knowledgeable, wore booties and knew exactly how to clean our filters. He serviced our heater, cleaned the filter and vacuumed his work area. It took about an hour. We are so thrilled to have finally found a reputable company and we will be using them in the future. read more

Balanced Comfort sent technicians to figure out the problem we were having with our heat pump. They said that cold air blowing during "defrost" is a characteristic of the Bosch unit. The techs returned and installed a device that somewhat mitigates the problem. The cold air now blows for a shorter period of time. Won't give a quote based on a simple valve insert on an existing line. They want to come out and charge you whatever they want.

Let me just start off by saying, if I could leave 0 stars I would. Last year my heater stopped working mind you my unit is only 2 years old. They came out and said I needed a new motor so I paid around 900$ for the motor to be replaced. I quickly noticed that the heater was still not working and had them come back out to see what the problem was. I had to pay for a service fee so I let them know that I just wanted a quote for a new thermostat while they were out there because I had an eco bee and I just wanted a more simple one without a screen. They then said that the thermostat was the problem and that's why my heater wasn't turning on. The prices for a thermostat were completely outrageous 600$+ considering I can literally go to Home Depot and buy one for 40$ and literally do it myself. But I didn't believe that the thermostat was the issue because my ac still turned on and when I turned on the heater the fan would turn on but without heat. I called them back out for another diagnosis and told them I didn't feel that was right diagnosis considering my unit was still responding to the thermostat. They said if they found that it was a different diagnosis they wouldn't charge me for the second diagnosis. They sent out the same tech and he said that the thermostat was still the issue so I had to pay the service fee again. So I went ahead and changed the thermostat myself and guess what ? My heater is still not working. So I gave them a call again and asked if they can come out here and diagnose it correctly without paying a service fee because I just want my heater to work properly and they already made me pay for two wrong diagnostics! They then told me that I would still need to pay the service fee and the problem is that I'm not on their yearly subscription. This place is all about money, they have inexperienced techs, and they are completely a scam . Do not use this company. Update: Your own technician told me it would be cheaper to put a new thermostat myself and that "I can just take a picture of the wires and match them back up." So your technician must be inexperienced. Please stop making excuses and take responsibility for your horrible customer service . We clearly wanted to pay for the service that needed to be done. We don't work on our own hvac unit. We asked for some type of discount on the diagnostic fee nothing more, and u couldn't compensate us . Maybe paying the service fee and then waving the service fee if we did the job with you guys? That would have worked . We told you we wanted to use your company even though you guys gave us the wrong diagnostic twice. But now we definitely won't be working with you guys so thanks but no thanks aaron . Update once again: We had advanced air come out today and they told us that our thermostat was not the problem. The problem is that balanced comfort hooked up the wires incorrectly to the unit. Which caused the thermostat to not send signals to the unit. They hooked up the wires correctly for the price of what balanced comfort charges for a diagnostic fee!! They finished in less than 30 minutes. We called to pay immediately and they told us we don't have to pay until next week because they want to make sure we are satisfied with the work first. In conclusion, Aaron, clearly your technicians are inexperienced and don't know what they are doing. It took this person who has never been out here 5 minutes to assess the issue. We were never looking for cheap work we were looking to get the work done and we ended up finding a great professional company who did not only get the work done but gave us a great deal and wonderful customer service. read more

I used balanced comfort for an HVAC replacement a few years ago, and things were good. However, upon trying to sign them up for another project our house, they have been pretty unresponsive. Apart from sending me a large quote, most of which was NOT explained to me, they didn't ever follow up on the questions I had. I was able to find another local company to do the work at a much more reasonable price, and they actually responded quickly. Maybe it was just bad timing or the wrong employee, but I was disappointed with the service the second time around. I also found out afterwards that I was never placed on their schedule even though I had contacted them a few times, each with different people, before finally giving up. It is not likely that I will hire them again unfortunately. read more

Our AC was having issues and we contacted this company on Friday and we had someone scheduled to come out Sunday. Given that it was a weekend, I was very thankful for the turnaround time. The tech that came out was nice and respectful so I have nothing negative to say about the workers. However, the tech did not have the part on his truck and after contacting other companies, realized that this should have been something very standard for them to carry. The tech was desperately trying to get me rescheduled ASAP as we wanted to move forward. I called Balanced Comfort myself and was told that I would have to wait until Monday to get rescheduled as that individual was gone for the day and that someone would call me Monday morning. Nobody ever called me. Him not having this part was a blessing in disguise. We contacted a competitor that same afternoon and had them scheduled to come out this morning by 9am. To our surprise, this is when we learned how severely overcharged we were. Balanced Comfort's quote was 5 times higher than other competitors! This was not from 1 but 2 difference HVAC repair providers. I am so upset that I even paid the $99 membership/diagnostic fee but lesson learned. We saved over $1000 going with someone else who we trust. What is even more unfortunate is that we were looking to do other home repairs with this company which we will no longer do. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this company and highly encourage others to shop around. Even if it means you suffering without AC for a few more days. read more

I'm a certifed & licensed refrigeration Technician but I got too old to climb on roofs at least ten years ago. My Air Conditioning failed late on Friday and I couldn't get my preferred company to respond over the weekend. I searched Angi's List, found "Balanced Comfort" quickly scheduled a "service call". Unfortunately there was nothing service related, or Technician related, about the call. They had no intention of doing anything but selling me a $20,000 complete system. They didn't even have any appropriate diagnostic equipment on the truck. They also lacked any appropriate parts or materials inventory on the truck. The "service call" was strictly intended to sell a complete new system. I called around to some friends and realized that this is their business model. They pay huge commissions ("spiffs") to their "Technicians" for selling overpriced complete systems. I even gave the owner a second chance to provide an appropriate diagnosis. They failed miserably. I'm not opposed to companies making a healthy profit. But over 2,000% markup on parts & materials is insane. I ended up waiting several days for my preferred provider and saved a VERY significant amount of $$$ for superior PROFESSIONAL service. read more

Zack came out to replace my 3 piece faucet & found that the matching sink he ordered for me had a wrong part in it so he had diligently took the middle piece off & had replaced all the plumbing under the sink! He politely explained how he would have to come back & cleaned up after himself before he left! He came back today with his friendly, easygoing manner & brought his young helper to fix my leaking tankless water heater that was leaking from the roof! They fixed the leak which was under warranty & he patiently supervised Joseph, his assistant! I asked for Zack specifically to come back & finish the sink & because I felt safe with him in my home as I'm elderly! I would highly recommend this company!
