Brought my 2013 jeep wrangler for a repair...4 days later i I picked the vehicle up. But I noticed that the aftermarket parts did not Fit correctly. So I brought it back. Mind you lost time for work, lost time period. I picked the vehicle up the second time. My driver side mirror is not working. It was disconnected, but not connect it again. So 3 trips later. The jobs should be done right the first time. Upon picking it up. I also noticed they only cleaned half of the vehicle. The side that they worked on. So now my Jeep looks like a commercial. I dropped my vehicle off for repair of a small dent and a passenger side mirror replacement on May 1st and was told I'd be updated every other day on the status. I was updated on May 30th that my vehicle would be completed the next day May 31st. They called me on May 31st and said the mirror was never ordered and they had to order it that day which meant I would have to wait until the mirror came in for completion. Now my 30 day insurance rental expired so I had to pay out of pocket for an additional 8 day rental. I picked up my car today June 8th and had to have them take it back in to buff the door they painted as it was scuffed. The Manager or owner never came out to apologize but they did make sure I paid my $300 deductible before I left. I would not recommend them to paint my toes never mind my car again. read more

Brought my Audi to be fixed (minor scrap rear end) and my backseat was trashed. Tissues that were nicely in the tissue box was ripped and left all over my back seat. Things that were in the trunk was also thrown into the backseat. Another things is that , things on my dashboard were popping up once I started my car and stayed. I never had anything pop up when I dropped my car off. Also They have kids from tech school working on your car and apparently going through the car. My car was trashed period! read more

As a virgin local costumer of Carstar Atlantic collusion center in Lowell, MA I would rated 2 out of 5 stars for Satisfaction I was experienced to my vehicle with pick up my vehicle on June 19th 2023: *Was contacted by friendly customer service to pick the vehicle about 9:00am (by the way, customer service was excellent along the way since first day beginning of the service) *first look the exterior of the vehicle wasn't 100% ready at all, the accident side of the vehicle-the gap between the hood and the side passenger fender wasn't right-too big by 5mm compare to the original driver side gap. *the fog lights wasn't on-the service guy has to drove the car back in the shop to got it fixed. *the wheels lock key wasn't there-again the service guy has to gone back in the technician bay to find it. *the remote starter wasn't working with the vehicle which was working when I brought the car in-no one has fixed that issue now It fall on me as the customer to find the way to fix it. How that sound to you? If you were as the costumer?? *Wait...! there not done yet! After me and my wife taking of the parking lot of the Carstar, I drove the car dropped off my wife at work about 30mins driving on the highway, arrived at her destination, she saw her passenger side of the DRL light felling off the bumper...ok! There we go again has to brought back to Carstar, long story short at the shop...the manager has to told by himself that his technician couldn't get it fixed he tried to stick there for over 20 times...but not working!? Then he refused to fix for me, stated: it's an after market part would void the warranty of the bumper so on and so for....I mean atleast, put the try to put the light back on instead of send me home with one light falling off like that! from a collusion center!? Are you kidding me!? Are could you calling yourself provide service one the best collusion center! In the area and nationwide! I don't think so! Edited: Brought my car to CARSTAR Atlantic in Lowell to have body work done after an accident as it was an approved shop by the insurance that was covering the damage. Car was given back in terrible condition. They did a terrible job with the glue so what the looks terrible (unfortunately did not see it due the the rain droplets when I picked it up otherwise I would have said something on the spot) and the glue is now detaching from the vehicle as well as the fender guard being misaligned and peeling from the fender. There was also additional damage from the initial accident that was not addressed by them or the insurance company that I had not spotted, but photos from the their assessment show I've been provided by the insurance was noticed and I was never notified to have it supplemented and addressed; which had the fender been done correctly would have still resulted in a second trip to a body shop and more time without the car. I admittedly jumped the gun and blamed them for the damage that wasn't addressed; as I hadn't initially spotted it at the accident and only noticed it inspecting their terrible work on the fender piece. I confirmed in accident photos that it was there and that was the cause of the damage, for that I apologize. The work on the fender however is still unacceptable and I will be going to a different shop to have it repaired again in addition to the damage that I was not notified about. read more

I really dislike giving negative reviews but I feel the need to turn customers away based on my experience. Had to use this establishment due to the insurance company of the at fault driver. My car was repaired and had multiple safety issues and bad repairs which were not evident when it was picked up. There were a total of FIVE yes FIVE bad repairs on this car. One of which they claim was not their fault (broken items which were not broken when the car was dropped off). They did not own up to some of the mistakes made while the car was in their care. In fact, they put the burden of proof on me to PROVE that the very evident damage happened in their care (after they carefully inspected the car on receipt). Releasing a car with multiple safety issues and then arguing with the customer over damage during their care is no way to run a business. My only guess is they do so much business with this insurance company they don't care about the customer. Not the way to do business in my opinion. Go elsewhere. read more

Girlfriend got into an accident (not her fault) and other guys insurance sent her to Carstar-which wasn't convenient for us location wise but they insisted. Fine. They were friendly and seemed competent. They called us a day before a storm to pick up the car early. We went on a workday (they aren't open on Saturdays and they close promptly at 5pm... We pick up the car, damage seemed fixed...what we found out when we got home is not only did the damaged blinker not work, the other one didn't. Mike who helped us when we had to spend an extra hour (there/back) to fix the light said they were both "burnt out bulbs" thereby implying they weren't working before so it wasn't their mistake. #1 What mechanic doesn't check his work i.e. checking the blinker at least on the side you replaced the lights #2 How do you not even feign being sorry when you waste an hour of someone's work day. These guys may be friendly, they might have a large facility and contracts with insurance companies but don't call a customer till the vehicle is 100% fixed. I read the reviews beforehand and I didn't want to drive into Lowell to have subpar service but we were forced too, which would have been fine had they just done their job. The situation was fixed but it was insult to injury when he tried to blame it on a bulb. read more

Atlantic Autobody/Carstar will get all my autobody work now. For over 20 years my wife and I took our autobody work to a friend's shop in Woburn (McCauley), however, it's out of our way now since we live near Lowell. Recently, I tried Maaco when my wife has a very minor dent and was not pleased with the service, repair work, or honesty (Maaco: "It's $100 more than I told you sir. (Not even a phone call to let me know prior). Maaco: "We didn't replace the part, it would have been to expensive." (The car was two months old, I would have paid for the part if they had let me know before deciding I wouldn't.) Contrast that experience with Atlantic Autobody just a 1/4 mile or so away. Quote was right on the money, Rich, my customer service agent, returned the emails I sent promptly (I was in a rush and asked Lindsey the receptionist--who I might add was also very professional and knew what questions to ask--if I could email Rich instead of waiting. Also, I needed a bit of a rush which Rich said they would do their best to accommodate. Sure did, Rich, my car was ready 2 days early, just in time for me to return my son's car back to him when he got back from his trip! So they get all my work in the future, and you should give them a try! BTW: I'm and English teacher and my wife works in Biotech, so we have no other connection to this company. read more

Wow!! I just had my Kia Soul in for repair and they did an incredible job!! They are courteous and professional from the first phone call I made to them up until I left with my baby again!! Wow, what a great experience this was. I brought my Ford Fusion here because this was one of the places my insurance company recommended, and now I can see why. From the moment I stepped into the office I was treated like royalty, warm greetings from the ladies at the front desk, coffee and soda to enjoy while I waited and some pretty cool before and after pics scrolling on the display. They explained exactly what I should expect for the repair process and made me feel so comfortable. They told me the repairs should take about 7 days which seemed reasonable but got it back to me in 4. They even washed and vacuumed my car. *03/01/16 Update* My husband brought his pickup truck in to get some repairs. It was there for roughly two weeks. He was called to pick it up and before he left they noticed the bumper wasn't aligned. They told him to wait while they made a quick adjustment. He waited over an hour and was sent home again in his rental. They called a week later for him to pick it up again. He picked it up and they stated they still would like him to come back one more time so they can make a few more changes. He has an appt for next week to have them make the final fixes. My car has started leaking fluid this week. I may have to bring it back to be looked at by them again too. I will update with results. 02/02/16: I just picked my car up yesterday after being there for several weeks. I am initially pleased with the end result of the work they did. It looks beautiful!!! Thank you! CARSTAR was so easy to deal with. I loved speaking with the courteous, friendly front desk and staff. They were so helpful, answered all my questions and helped me out whenever possible such as contacting the rental company or my insurance company for me. PLEASE READ FOR YOUR SAKE I never write reviews, but I have the responsibility of letting everyone know how bad they are. My car was supposed to take a week to fix, which turned into about 2 and a half months. 1. They presented me with the most hideous front bumper replacement I've ever seen. The edges were all wavy and it didn't line up correctly. They tried to persuade me to take it as is and I spoke with the person in charge because it looked like shit. It also took about 2 weeks when they initially said 1 week, which cost me more in rental. 2. They fixed the edges on the bumper, but the whole bumper is out of alignment and looked like shit. I told them it was unacceptable and they kept it for a few more days. 3. They fixed the alignment issue and I drove it for about 1 and a half days and the bumper fell out of place. It was just hanging on. I brought it back and they said they'll have to order a new bumper. 4. I kept having to call them about the new bumper (and I already paid the deductible) and they kept saying they'll call me back but never do. Finally they told me when I can bring the car in and I did. I dropped it off and the next day someone hits my car in their parking lot. The dented the bumper and the fender. Again I have to wait for them to order a new bumper, fender and to do the autobahn clear film. They don't care about the condition of your car. Make sure you thoroughly exam it for gaps and missing clips. They will try to persuade you to accept it as is even though their work looks like crap. IT TOOK ME ABOUT 2 1/2 MONTHS TO GET MY CAR BACK!!! Also, I had a folded heart shaped 2-dollar bill in my front visor. It's been there for 2 years and now its gone. Someone stole it along with 2 scratch tickets. Its only 22 dollars total, but beware. read more

I've been to car star twice when I've been in accidents. First time the car came back to me a week late because the first bumper didn't fit. Seriously? The second time I went back because I knew what to expect and they are local. Sure enough my car was ready 3-4 days after their scheduled date. The work was done well except the fog light they had to replace (one side of the car was damaged) was a different type of glass and doesn't look symmetrical but I'll pick my battles. They call you once a week (mine took 4 weeks) to give you updates but just be prepared for that "last minute" issue and you'll be good! I give them 3 stars because they work with the insurance company and the adjuster goes there and they do all the work. But keep in mind that they will do more work then is required especially when the insurance company pays which means you spend more time without your car. Overall I'll go back because the devil you know is better then the devil you don't. read more

I had an excellent experience at CARSTAR. I have their address as located at 1516 Middlesex St., however, not 915 Pawtucket St. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. My car had minimal damage from a fender bender, but they took the time to repair damage underneath the bumper. Their repair work on a dent was flawless. They even took the time to buff out scratches that were not related to the accident. My car looked new again when they were finished with it. To whom it may concern, I am in independent small business owner who has been working with CARSTAR for almost 25 years. I too am in the automotive business so I know both sides of the car repair business. On numerous occasion I have had conversations with management at Carstar that might shed some light on what its like to fix todays cars and trucks. [1] The insurance company dictates what gets done ! What parts will be replaced ! and Quailty of parts to be used ! fenders and doors that dont fit because they are CHEAP !! . Which you dont know until the door or fender is painted and installed on car . Even when there will use USED PARTS. . In the old days insurance companies would go and replace all the suspension on the side the car was hit on . But now , the bodyshops are authorized to install only 1-2 parts and to do an Alignment on the car and see if it is spec. If that doesnt work they put in a couple more parts in it. WELL PEOPLE THAT KIND OF THINKING IS WHAT DRAGS OUT THE WHOLE PROCESS!!! .and heaven forbid they find unseen damage underneath the work being done. Did you know that there are 10,000 parts on average in each car or truck? All need to fit like glove. After readings some other reviews ,I needed to add my own. I too am a customer of CARSTAR and it is not always easy keeping the customer in the loop and doing what the insurance company allows. I think there is ALWAYS room to improve, but over all I think they are as good as anyone in the business !! read more

Complete scam artists. I was happy when I first arrived and waited for my rental. But overall am not pleased. They gave me the runaround for three days. I had been hit by someone and their insurance covered repairs and rental . this company told me it would take three days because they needed to wait for a bumper to come in. When I picked up my car , some shmuck told me they didn't even put a new bumper on it. So.. Does that mean you charged an incredibly high rate for that persons insurance to cover ? Because I'm pretty sure the estimate was for a new bumper... not a buff and minor paint job. This whole ordeal interfered with my work schedule and I will not return. read more

Update: The last windshield I got from them was okay for a few months. A few months back I went for a car wash when I noticed water coming in from the top left corner of the windshield. Frustrated as all hell, I reached out to my insurance and explained everything. They sent out a re-adjuster who told me they would probably consider dropping Carstar from their list of associated shops if they couldn't get this right. He told me that I could bring my car elsewhere, but that Carstar really wanted to make this right for me. Reluctantly, I brought my car back for yet another windshield. I also asked that they looked at the windshield sprayers as they never worked the same after the initial replacement. I also ask that they detail the car because of the moldy smell from water getting in every time it rained. When I picked up my car they told me the windshield shifted due to not being properly installed. That was the 3rd incorrectly installed windshield they gave me. It's just amazing to me that it took three tries to get it right when there are MOBILE windshield replacements done every day. Please, save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. read more

Made the appointment on Tuesday to drop off on Friday. Needed a grille replaced. They said it would be ready on Wednesday of next week. Got text updates all week that the car was "on track" for pickup for Wednesday. I called on Monday to get an estimate on a scratch I wanted repaired. Girl took my message but guy didn't call back. Called Tuesday, guy finally answered an estimated 800 bucks to repair the scratch. I was like ... uh.. let me get back to you. But didn't authorize them to fix it. Wednesday I got a text that the car is nearing completion and if there are any problems I would get a call. This was the pickup day. No call. I called at 5:20 and got a voicemail that their office was closed. Called next day to find out that they haven't even received the grille from my dealer yet. How is my car almost done if you don't even have the part I originally went in there for? They said they will have to keep the car until they get the parts. I didn't get any updates until the following Monday (5 days late from estimated pickup date) that the car will be ready next day. Got car Tuesday (6 days late) paid deductible. Now, here is why they got 3 stars instead of 1. The car was washed and looked gorgeous. Additionally they repaired the scratch free of charge and left me some extra touch up paint. So they got my exterior "fixed". The guy was like "looks good huh" and I was thinking "Parts of it wasn't put well together. I had to point it out to them and have them fix it. It's look better..but it's not great either. It's like you look at it and you feel that the people who put it together didn't give their 60%. Having a car accident any time of the year can really be a pain but having it just a couple weeks before Christmas is the worse case scenario. My insurance company pushed me to use another shop in town but I decided to do my research and chose to call Carstar in Lowell and man am I glad I did. I spoke to Mike and he handled the entire process from getting the car looked at immediately to handling the entire process with the insurance company and getting me really great car from Budget Rent-A-Car in Nashua. Best part is that he knew that I would need my car before the holiday and without compromising the integrity of the repairs he was able to get my car back well before scheduled. This guy Mike really knew his stuff and I felt completely comfortable using Carstar and would recommend these guys to anyone- You don't have to go with the shop your insurance attempts to send you to, I chose Carstar and because of Mike and the great staff there, I am really glad I did. read more

If I can give this place 0 star I would. This place sucks. Got a front body damage on driver side, fender and headlight. All they fix and painted was one side of the fender and part side of the front bumper. Why wouldn't they paint the whole front bumper instead of trying to blend in the paint on half of the bumper?!!!. even if insurance is paying for that part of the damage. CARSTAR should have contact the owner and ask if they would want the whole bumper painted for additional cost. Stupid piece of shit CARSTAR. I don't recommend anyone going to them. I had called them many times where they had transfer me to this person but he or she didn't pick up but then I had left a voicemail and he'd never called back. This other time I called again and finally got to speak with him. Then he said he have to go do something and would call me back but he never did! I was extremely happy with my recent experience at Atlantic Auto. An accident is never a fun time, but the staff and their service definitely helped ease the pain. The staff were all helpful and friendly and I couldn't believe how efficient of a system they had. While taking in my information, they called for a rental and I was picked up within minutes. I think this place isn't exactly getting a fair shot. Just because they take longer than expected doesn't mean they suck! I've (unfortunately) had about half our fleet here at some point in 2015 for repairs. Yes, they do take longer than quoted pretty much every single time but good work takes time and you have to understand that. They are also flooded with work which should tell you that they are trusted as everyone brings their vehicles to them. We have had nothing but solid, professional and sound repairs made after numerous accidents. We have been pleased with their professional office staff that communicate every step of the way, handling all of the paperwork and insurance issues through the process and always quick to get answers for me each time I call. I will continue to use their services even if we do have to have to wait longer than we would like because they do a fantastic job! Left one star off due to long wait times. read more

I brought my vehicle to get minor repair they told it would take a few days thankfully the other insurance covered for my rental for a couple days then I get a call from carstar that the wrong part was ordered that my vehicle wasn't going to be ready for few more days so now i had to argue with the insurance company to cover for rental for more days they only covered for 2 days i need it for 5 days now i was stuck paying for rental cost becase of carstar fuck up!!! so i get a call to pick up my vehicle right away i saw the gaps from the aftermarket part that was installed so the insurance company gave them the go ahead to install factory part so again i had to pay for out pocket for a renal car so i get a call to pick my vehicle the part that was installed looked worse then the first time the person i spoke with told me that these are factory parts to me these parts looked like there were part factory and after market nothing seam to line up so i asked why the parts didn't line up and person gave me bullshit story that the factory parts for my vehicle weren't that good ok so u know what im person that hates liars....but i know how to control my self and walk away with out argument so i took my vehicle home and i notice something else wrong with the repair that was made at butcherstar!!!! again here i go for third time for the same simple repair unbelievable!! i even found a different color paint on my vehicle like they made some scratches and cover it with different color definitely spot it when i wash my car but that's ok because i never bring my vehicle there ever again and i make sure none of friends or family members go to you hacks and crooks !!!! read more
