Absolutely awful. The lady that works there is extremely and could not care less about anything else other than giving you hell for your car being impounded there. I understand that they probably deal with a lot of angry customers on a daily basis but being rude just cause you ask for updates on the price of the impound is disrespectful. During the past year I have been going through financial issues and dealing with a lot of nasty people as a result. This circumstance was really upsetting. I DO NOT recommend going here for any mechanical work whatsoever. We also believe they slipped us a counterfeit bill which would not surprise me given the nasty lady at the front wanting to make everyone's life miserable. Do not bring your car there. read more

I wish I could leave less than one star! This place is an absolute RIPOFF operation. My car was towed from Billerica to 97 Tanner Street in Lowell - all of 5 miles for a charge of $346 !!! If you have a choice for a tow, I recommend you look elsewhere! I can only imagine what there mechanics fees would be. There should be a law against hostile, highway robbery pricing such as this! read more

Had a great experience with Stuart's towing, my vehicle was a towed in around 4:30am due to flooding from a main water break. The police were the ones who called the towing company to tow the vehicle. Progressive was giving me some trouble with my car but the men working here were very cooperative and helpful through out the whole process. read more

I normally dont write reviews. but, i had to with this type of experience. My car got towed 5 miles down the road from them. im very familiar with tow yards, I practically grew up in one. I call to ask for a price, and jr (who I spoke with) was extremely RUDE. They wouldnt allow me to drive my car out. i had to renew my plates. Which i did. I had to pay for it to be towed out. So they charge me 240$ for the tow, and "mileage" and storage fee...mind you the tow starts at 108$- storage 35$. Wouldnt allow the tow truck to pay for us, made me drive up there to pay them. 9 months pregnant... great stress!! Haha now I dont mind paying. Its the shitty customer service you receive. ur talked to like shit, and at the end of the day they still get paid and cant get punched in the face for their ignorance. horrible experience. Its unfortunate that people like this can still be in business... oh and they only take cash BUT they dont telllll you that!!! When my car arrived at my residence, I was welcome by cigarette ashes all on my console and my car smelled like smoke. Tow driver I used doesnt smoke.. so I will now have to pay another 200$ to have it detailed and ready again for my newborn. read more

If I ever get stranded in Massachusetts again this is who I would call. These guys are the best. Our rear tire fell off our truck with a travel trailer in tow and two children in the truck. They had us towed very quickly with the help from the state police whom were also wonderful. They offered to let us stay at the garage with our camper plugged in for the night. We chose to get a hotel so the kids could swim. These guys were so nice to drive us to the hotel. They went above and beyond for us. They had us back on the road the following day by 2 pm. I just cannot say enough great things about them. Thanks guys!! We won't ever forget this. read more

On Monday my front driver side tire blew out.. Called state police, they called stuarts auto and Scotty got there super fast. Scotty was respectful and efficient. Got the truck towed back to their shop as it wasn't drivable. Scotty got the new tires ordered (replacing both front). the tow was quick and responsive. My issue is that i've worked in garages for 5+years and for the first year I was a lube and tire technician so I definitely know a thing or two about the basics of mounting tires.. The next day i picked up my truck and hopped on the highway for maybe 30 seconds and i was bouncing around like nuts.. Immediately brought it to my buddy's shop after a grueling 50 min drive through backroads.. Not a single new wheel weight was on the wheel.. How are you gonna send me on my way without balancing a freakin wheel.. Cmon thats like basic 101, new tires, mount and balance. Not sure if its an intentional thing as im a 5 foot blonde chick who wouldn't strike the average as a mechanic and be able to recognize incomplete/ incorrectly done work, and they were maybe lookin to use me for another cash grab and expect me to call back for them to do more work on the truck? anyways.. towing fine, but definitely not gonna trust any more work done to my truck if they cant get mounting tires correctly. read more

This towing company is dispatched by state trooper and they are very pricy. Starting at $140 just to tow to their garage but then you have to pay more to get your car out or for them to tow elsewhere. Then they charge $30 per mile towed. I did not expect cheap toeing but I know next time I would not use state trooper dispatch . I was actually waiting for another tow company who quoted me for half the price Stuart charged. But Stuart came first and basically old not give me a price until they got the car hoisted. Yea basically took the car hostage. I hope these guys pay get audited by the irs for all the cash transactions. ​​ read more

My car was parked on the side of a road nobody in it and was sideswiped. They called Stewart's to come tow it because it was not drivable. When the insurance company asked me where I wanted it fixed I figured I might as well have it fixed where it was towed but that was the biggest mistake ever! While they fixed the exterior of the car and it looks decent although they used a different color front bumper they gave the car back to me barely even drivable! They told me the problem was not linked to the accident although before the accident it was not doing what it is doing currently. The fact that a business can give somebody something back in that condition with no explanation and think that's okay it is disgusting! I would not recommend anybody bring their car there for anything ever! read more

These people are unscrupulous crooks and con men. They came to an accident I was involved in -a 3 car fender bender. The police told us to drive down the interstate to a safer spot-all 3 cars drove perfectly. The EMT's etc came. No one was hurt. My car had a tiny bit of damage-no fender marks, no glass or parts breakage, no headlights disturbed, my dear alert fender devices perfect. My car was in perfect driving condition.This tow truck was called without my permission. The driver was weird, creepy .. insisted I could not drive home because my airbag deployed.The cop agreed. The tow. a few miles cost me $190 in cash.I was 140 miles from home(In CT) I was left with $2They locked up the car to "fix" it the next day..told me to stay in a hotel. I got triple A-so they left car on the street. My car is a 93 Volvo 940 wagon. Airbags were not required in 93. Mass. does not inspect airbags more than ten years old.There is no law against driving with a deployed airbag if vehicle is sound...and a '93 No law whatsoever. Stewart's driver lied to me. They committed fraud and even added a $35 STORAGE fee for no storage. They harassed me and robbed me.I am contacting the Massachusetts Attorney General and the State Police. I"ve been doing business here for over 25 years. If your looking for cheap, cut rate work, look elsewhere. The bad news is they will charge you what the job is worth. The good news is they won't tell you that you need more work than you really do. And they'll do the job right the first time, for a fair price. The negative comments on this review seem to be from people who were towed. Try to find a towing company who would do anything differently. Horrible!! My daughter was in an accident and her car was towed there. When she went down to get her belongings, license plate and sign the release form as instructed by the insurance company. LIE #1 She was told she can't take the license plates until the insurance company assess the car. LIE #2. She asked for the release form to sign and was told she needs to bring in a form from the insurance company. I talked with the insurance company they they said both answers are completely inaccurate they are trying to SCAM more money out of the insurance company by keeping the car on the lot. In the process of their scam they inconvenience the people who have to take multiple trips to take care of something that should have simply been taken care of on the first visit. I took my daughter for her second visit and asked for a release form to sign and they pulled out a form. Wow!! Imagine that. read more

One of their drivers almost rear ended me getting on an on ramp, he kept inching up and pressuring me to take a left into oncoming traffic and honking like a maniac when we did not have the right of way to go. I do not know how or why he got so close to me or what he was trying to accomplish. Eventually we get on the high way and he starts tailgating me and changing lanes and driving dangerously up to me. I call to report him and the receptionist was rude as hell and said all the trucks have the same plate... some how that's legal, and he was heading to a big accident. Well if he's not the paramedics or the police he does not have to be trying to run me over to get to an accident he was about to cause another. This business has rude unprofessional staff and unsafe drivers, and reading the other reviews on google I do not know how they stay in business. read more

Terrible business. Got my car towed there due to a snow emergency and they were very rude when I arrived and the receptionist on the phone "forgot" to tell me it was cash only. When I arrived with no cash, they shrugged and said "walk to the atm" during a snow storm. No regard for customer safety or satisfaction. This is an unethical business. I briefly parked at my husbands apartment before getting a parking sticker. When I came back outside to move my car, the tow truck driver who would not tell me his name had loaded my car onto the truck. I asked him to take it off because I was moving it, but he refused. He claimed that he couldn't get it off because of the other car he had picked up. He made me ride in his truck to his shop and then pay him $125. Along the way he was rude and insulting. When we got to the shop, magically he could get both cars off without any additional tools. They are not decent human beings. All they care about is racking up as many multiples of $125 as possible. They also have the police contract but I saw online that they were suspended for a time for failing to cooperate with a police investigation. read more

First I have to share how WONDERFUL Mike my tow truck driver was. He was quick and efficient when getting myself, son and vehicle to safety while stranded on I-495 outside of Boston. NOt only that but he personally went out of his way on his own time, with his own vehicle and got us safely in a local hotel while we awaited to get our repairs done. MIKE you are a hero. Now for the not so good news. The woman in the office was rude and unhelpful. I hope her mother never gets stranded, broken down in a strange place with no one to help her. I was told that no one could look at my vehicle until after the holiday weekend as everyone was already on vacation and this was the Friday before Labor day. That meant staying in a local hotel for 4 days with the added expense. I was told on Tuesday that they could not actually fix my vehicle but was to pay them $300 IN CASH (credit or debit cards and personal checks are not accepted be WARNED) in order reclaim my vehicle and have it towed to someone that could actually fix it. When I asked her where I was supposed to locate that kind cash she told me that was my problem. If it had not been for the kindness of Mike I would totally give this place a 0 start rating. FYI All Pro Exhaust was able to fix my vehicle and get me on the road that same day..................He truly cares about stranded strangers from out of town. Hats off to All ProExhaust read more

DO NOT use this business if you have another choice! Unfortunately they managed to get the towing contract with the city of Lowell so if you get towed by the police you are stuck with them. They are greedy, rude, and could care less what you are going through. It's ALL about the money-ALWAYS. They even have a sign in the window that as of November 1st they will be charging you $120 for a position in line fee. They charge $35.00 to have them open their gates to bring the car they are being paid to tow into their parking lot! I have no problem with any business making a profit but they are so unscrupulous and so rude to their customers I can not understand why anyone would use them unless they are "legally" being forced to. Beware also that if you write a negative review instead of apologizing and trying to figure out how they could help their paying customers or rethink how they do business they will berate and belittle you and even blame you for being a "bad driver". Oh, yes, don't forget to bring CASH ONLY to get your car out, they are too cheap to even take credit cards. So once you or your loved one have an accident, and God forbid, you have injuries, for which the owner will mock you by the way, you will have to get out of your sick bed and get over there because even though they have a computer and a fax machine they can't be bothered in setting up an online customer signature, which is legal, to sign a release for your car. Of course, that will take money out of their pockets so that will never happen either. read more
