Love this place!!! It's gorgeous, clean and they are highly skilled. They do laser hair removal, waxing, facials and the list goes on. I see Rachel for my waxing needs!!! My previous waxing salon was very similar to Carter Kayte so I wanted to give them a try. On my first visit, I was greeted with a warm smile and conversation by the receptionist. She also offered me a soda or water while I waited on my service. The salon features many products for your waxing and skin care needs which is convenient. I was then greeted by Maddy, my waxing specialist. She is super sweet. We have a lot in common so we talked during my whole service. Particularly, I liked how she explained everything before she did (washed her hands, getting tools, etc) she also gave great tips on home care, which I appreciated. One major convenience is that you can make your appointments online or in the store. And if you follow them on social media, they provide tips and promote specials. I've had several wax treatments over the years in numerous cities across the US, so when I moved into the Wilmington / Wrightsville Beach area, I hopped online to find out were to go. In doing my "research," what I found was that Holly / Carter Kayte was the only individual / salon that had reviews of her waxing services at all, and they were outstanding! Other salons / spa's in the area had 5-stars but in actually reading the reviews, the accolades were all for massage services, facials, or various other spa treatments, never waxing! Almost every one of Holly's reviews was waxing-related and positive. My experience specifically: Holly was extremely professional, her waxing was quick, and by far the most painless experience I've ever had. I had a full Brazillian wax performed and we were able to hold a conversation during the entire procedure. My time spent with Holly, from consultation through pants-on was no more than 20min despite the half hour booked which made me feel valued as a customer, and confident that she values her clients experiences, not just packing her schedule. Holly is amazing! I've had several Brazilian waxes and one facial with her. I've been more than happy every time I left. For the Brazilian she uses hard wax, which is great. The facial was wonderful. She really takes the time to analyze your skin, figure out what products would be best for it, and then give you suggestions for home treatments. I got a brazilian wax the other day for the second time ever. I had such a good experience! The salon was adorable and relaxing. Holly locks the door so no one will be walking into the salon while you are getting waxed which makes you feel more at ease. Holly used hard wax which is definitely better than soft wax. Hard wax only pulls the hair which was definitely a lot less painful compared to my last wax which was with soft wax. The last time I got waxed my skin was irritated for days.. Holly also took the time to tell me what to do to properly care for my skin in between waxes. She was also talkative which helped distract and keep me comfortable.
