On my very first day, a male student called me a "fat bitch." The overall culture felt entitled and hypocritical--many people here call themselves "Christians," but their behavior doesn't reflect those values. As someone who values faith deeply, I expected more respect and compassion. Instead, I found students who lacked kindness and basic decency. I believe school should be a place where students can freely share their identity and personal beliefs without fear of ridicule. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at Aquinas. I ultimately left and returned to my home public school, and I would never recommend Aquinas to anyone. In my heart, I do believe that sometimes God places people in difficult environments to remind them to lean on Him. Maybe this school is meant for those who don't know Him and need to seek Him out. But for students who already have faith, Aquinas does not provide anything more. A public school or a different private school would be a much better option. Also, I couldn't help but notice they don't have reviews up on Google, which is concerning.

The teachers & principals are not doctors nor licensed to DIAGNOSE a child with AUTISM when he in fact does not have autism. He has a hard time learning as school is not his favorite thing in the world i mean..some kids didn't even graduate !! He's a kid he just started going to school as all other kids that cry and whine. MY POINT IS the aids, teachers, anyone there has questioned if my brother is autistic because of his behavior. These "adults" are clearly not capable of teaching or being nice to children. Some aids will give him looks ( we know because my niece goes there ) Everyday Teachers can't handle him & will send him to the office to either be picked up or they just keep him there. I never take my daughter because she's autistic and people can be in inpatient and unprofessional but the staff here is so great. Patrick and Rita are amazing! You would think their required teachers how wonderful they are worth the children. They make everyone feel welcomed and are very good with the kids and professional. They are able to give them directions and keep the line orderly, help them choose for and vegetable while still being kind. I'm so glad I brought my daughter. I really don't feel like the board cares about our children or the staff that serve them. My son's TK classroom didn't even have a bathroom in it, but they feed their faces like money grows on trees. It took nearly an entire school year to get my son speech services. Field trips are almost nonexistent but they can travel and spend money so stupidly. Teachers get away with treating our kids so badly. There's a rule that if you want to celebrate your child's birthday at school, you have to purchase cupcakes from the nutrition services department, but then they have our kids selling junk food, buying junk food for fundraisers and their lunches only meet minimal nutrition standards. I really feel they are doing it to profit off of parents wanting to celebrate their childrens' birthdays at school. Speech therapists are underpaid and the unions are definitely doing more for the board than the staff they take money from every month. Everything is in place to serve the board. It's really the most corrupt district I have ever come across. If you are supposed to send your child here, I strongly suggest you consider charter schools or an inter district transfer.

Came for a literacy event the district was hosting for elementary schools. It was a really nice…read moreevent with a lot of free books for the kids. Even food was included, which was nice. Sadly, I didn't stay long nor did I participate in stopping by all the booths for cotton candy because the event was not wheelchair accessible. My son ordered a wheelchair for safety to prevent elopement and social anxiety and it was too difficult to push him in the grass in it. The chair almost fell over a few times. We ended up leaving! On positive note, I appreciate the event for people who could enjoy it.
