Lori and Ginger in the office, helped me with the paperwork , made me feel comfortable and answered any questions I had. Once I got in the chair, both assistants whose names were Ashley took great care of me and reduced my stress level and prepared me for the extraction. Dr. Akin is very personable, kind, and was gentle giving me the shot to numb the area around my tooth. Once the procedure started Dr. Akin made sure I was not in any pain during the extraction. Dr. Akin is very experienced and has the "wisdom" and skill to make sure my extraction was successful. I highly recommend Dr. Akin as your oral surgeon of choice!!

At one point he even removed an implant that had been poorly done by another oral surgeon. Gruesome, for sure, but he managed it with professionalism and personal attention. I have now moved away from the Canton/Potsdam area and am dealing with dentists in Westchester County. I miss Dr. Akin and his whole team.

I feel it is imperative to be polite on the phone and I expect the same treatment in return. On more than one occasion I have called and been treated very poorly by the reception staff. The receptionists are very rude and condescending on the phone and all but hang up on you. I called with an emergency and was told, I should wait three days until their scheduled was less full and that his regular patients have priority. (I am a regular patient) I have been a patient for many years and was made to feel as if I should find another dentist, if I wanted treatment. Despite conducting myself in a very cordial manner toward the receptionists, during the entirety of our conversations I understand this is a very busy office but, that is no excuse for being unprofessional toward patients. I will not be belittled on the phone no matter how good the rest of the staff is. I encourage anyone to call and find out for yourself just how rude they are.
