Cary was my divorce lawyer and I hired him based on the amazing reviews on yelp. However, the service I got was not the greatest. First off, Cary's time is expensive compared to the other firms/lawyers who have similar ratings. Second off, just like other reviews who talk about Cary being very attentive and responsive and I agree with them that he is that way however it's not enough to be a good lawyer. With my case, Cary didn't show any care/empathy towards my situation instead I was treated like another item that is getting manufactured in a factory. He made several mistakes in his emails, which was very un professional of him and his reason was that he had too many clients to take care of, and on top of that I was still charged for his time to rectify his own mistakes. Further Cary's strategy is to be defensive and that will work all the time to move the case forward however this caused me to loose lot of assets whereas I could have easily got back my assets with some effort on his points. In over all, I would say Cary is way too expensive for the value you get out of him. He is attentive and responsive however this is not enough if there is not enough time spent on the thinking and strategy. During my case, Cary had too many cases for him to handle and he was still charging me a hefty fee compared to the other lawyers who would have given me more time. So for others who are deciding on Cary, unless it's a litigation case, I wouldn't recommend him for a divorce case. read more

Cary Schneider is the man. I was fighting a DV restraining order filed by me Ex-girlfriend. It was a very messy situation to say the least. There were many different factors to the case (i.e property, custody of my dog, as well a false acquisitions of physical violence). I attained Cary as my lawyer just a week before my court date, and as soon as I called him he went right to work. He was in constant contact with me, keeping me updated, and working his ass off to get me my property returned and the case dropped. Unfortunately despite his many attempts the case went to court. Cary made sure to get all the facts about the case and prepared all the documents, and helped walk me through what was going to happen in court. The day of the trial he met me at the court house early to go over everything one last time. The trial ended up taking 6 hours of back and fourth questioning, and cross examination between me and my ex. While he was questioning her he was able to ask her the right questions to catch her in her lies. I cannot express how relieved I was. My reputation, as well as my personal property was at stake and Cary was my greatest asset. After Cary was able to uncover that she was lying I knew we had won. The DV restraining order was dropped, and I was able to get all my property and compensation for split items that me and my ex shared. I came home from an extended work trip only to find a very unfortunate situation involving a threatening eviction letter from my landlord. I had no idea what to do. My lease, actions, truth, and intentions all pointed to the fact that my landlord was out of line but it left me hopeless and forced me to seek out all options including legal advice. I went to the San Francisco Rent Board and, as they were very informative and helpful, I realized that it was at a dead end. I needed more professional guidance. I typically use Yelp, like a good friend, to be helpful in finding great new trivial things like restaurants and beauty services but I was hesitant to use it as a tool to find legal advice. I called a few other "professionals' first but feel that I was truly lucky that Cary popped up.
