This place was honestly a dream. It was the perfect vibe of a local home, but as an hotel there was no air Bnb non sense. The price is great! Great communication, easy access, private, quiet, clean and uniquely decorated rooms with all the basics plus more. The garden out front and patio is green and lush.

My sister and I stayed at Casa Botanica Hotel a few weeks ago for our visit to Puerto Rico to see Bad Bunny! We absolutely loved our stay! I was a little nervous about our self check in because we landed in San Juan after midnight. However, it was a very quick Uber ride from the airport and the self check in instructions we received were great and easy to follow. As soon as we entered the gated garden surrounding the hotel I felt so peaceful and relaxed. We stayed in the vintage treehouse which was so beautiful and had a great indoor/outdoor living vibe. Our breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious and the staff were so friendly, chatty, and able to give great recommendations for our beach day. We will definitely return and are looking forward to having more time to explore the neighborhood!

I wanted to be as impartial as possible, and I considered if our stay was truly worth a 5 star rating, and I've come to the conclusion that it absolutely is. La Botánica is truly worth 5 stars. My sister and I were floored by our stay. For logistics: super close to the airport, the beach, Old San Juan, but all the hustle and bustle melts away as soon as you enter the gate. The only sound that remained was the coqui. As soon as you wanted to reenter the local environment, you just needed to step outside. Incredible location. For the vibes: such a beautifully curated space, our room was gorgeous and clean, just as advertised. The public spaces were peaceful, gorgeous and clean. For the quality of the stay: the hotel staff were incredible (welcoming, knowledgeable, calming), my sister thoroughly enjoyed yoga every morning, the morning vegan breakfast was well balanced and varied each morning. The staff was also super accommodating and attentive during our stay and we received so much information before arriving that left confident and prepared with our reservation. We also connected with Pablo per their recommendation and had such a magical time. He was also accommodating to my health concerns (and just fears of adventure lol) but definitely can accommodate a wide variety of guests and their concerns. La Botánica's team felt like a well oiled machine and a really connected community. It honestly felt like staying at a friend's house (but a friend you're a little jealous of because of how cool and grounded they are). We are so grateful for our stay and cannot wait to come back. Thank you for welcoming us!

I love La Botanica Hotel and Wellness Center. It's truly a bit of zen in the city. You walk into the courtyard and are greeted by a fountain and lush landscaping. Through the courtyard, you will find the gift shop and check-in. Our check-in hostess, Kimberlina, was so nice and welcoming. We were able to leave our bags and she gave us a tour. There is a complimentary beverage station and yoga mats for the daily yoga class. The coffee is quite good. A daily vegan breakfast is also offered complimentary. We stayed in the treehouse room. It's up a narrow spiral staircase, but so worth it. At the top of the stairs is the outdoor shower and a deck. To the right is the most adorable room ever, complete with a hammock. The vintage decor is great. The bed is comfy. And I love the essential oil diffuser that had been turned on for us. Water is in your room, as is wine for purchase. La Botanica is in a busy neighborhood, so you can still hear neighborhood sounds, which is perfect for a city girl like me. I didn't see any bugs, which was my greatest fear. Just lots of cute little lizards. And you fall asleep to a coqui symphony. La Botanica is so peaceful and tranquil but you are still close to everything. I highly recommend staying here when in San Juan.

La Botanica was amazing ! Our stay was truly perfect. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful during our stay and we loved how peaceful our room felt. From the natural lighting in our room to the vegetarian meals made by Chef Victor we truly felt like we were in paradise. We would definitely return and suggest this hotel to everyone we know taking their next trip to PR Thank you !

Just WOW! This phenomenal boutique hotel exceeded our expectations. It was immaculate and every nook and cranny was artfully curated. From the hammock in the room, to the trickling water fountains, and the vintage photographs this place was so unique and special. The 24 hr coffee bar was AMAZING! The 8 am yoga classes were perfect and included. The vegan breakfast starting at 9 am was so memorable! We stayed at 2 other hotels on this trip, and this is the only one we are still talking about. If I were a travel agent I would book every client here. The staff was so professional.

I stayed at Casa Botanica in Puerto Rico for 5 days in mid April, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. I was looking forward to this trip as it was a joint sister birthday trip for my sister and I. We booked the Botanica Suite and had a terrible stay. From day one, there was no hot water in my room. While the shower was eventually fixed, I had no hot water in the sink for the entire duration of my five day stay. I reported this issue multiple times both in person and via email, but nothing was resolved. To make matters worse, my emails eventually started bouncing back, leaving me with no way to follow up. Also our bathroom mirror was extremely streaky and I brought this up too in email and when our rooms were cleaned it seemed as if the whole bathroom was skipped and not cleaned. On top of that, I was randomly charged $324.85 during my stay with no explanation. It wasn't until day 4 that I was finally able to speak with a manager and have maintenance come to my room. At that point, I was told the sink would need to be completely replaced to fix the hot water issue, and that the charge was just a "system glitch." The resolution offered was also disappointing. I was initially offered 10% off my stay, which felt inadequate given I went the entire trip without proper hot water. After pushing back, the manager agreed to 15%, but I was only ever given 10%. I've since sent two follow-up emails and have received no response in two weeks. There were a few joys which were mainly the location which was next to the beach and the chef cooked breakfast. We did have yummy vegan breakfast made by the amazing chef and I did enjoy the yoga class. Overall, the lack of basic amenities, poor communication, and unfulfilled promises made this a frustrating experience. I would not stay here again nor recommend to others you will not have warm or hot water. Especially if you are trying to celebrate a joyful occasion. read more

We just spent three nights in The Greenhouse Suite. Wow! The entire hotel is beautiful. It's a house within a gated tropical garden in a great location in San Juan between Condado and Ocean Park. We were within walking distance or a quick Uber ride to everything we wanted to do in San Juan. They took great care of us. The breakfast was so good. We liked it so much, we decided to join the end of the month dinner on Friday evening. I have anaphylactic allergies to most nuts, and they kindly accommodated me for the entire stay. It is a boutique hotel, which I prefer, but keep in mind it doesn't come with all the amenities of a chain hotel like parking and cable TV. If you're in San Juan watching TV, you're doing it wrong! We absolutely loved it and will be back. read more

I couldn't have asked for a better, more cup-filling experience than my stay at Casa Botanica. The outdoor spaces are lushly green and serene, and the indoor spaces are well decorated and smell heavenly. It's hard to travel while vegan (#veganproblems) so I appreciated the hotel's plant-based breakfasts every morning, which were delicious and filling. The staff are super helpful with their suggestions for things to do and places to go. Shoutout to Tamara, Chef Victor, and Pablo, who were so welcoming and amiable they felt like old friends. And the location! This hotel is two blocks from the beach so I was able to go swimming every day. Comfy bedding and the serenading coqui frogs make for a very restful sleep. I highly recommend Casa Botanica and would definitely stay here again. read more

The entire experience has been pleasant. We arrived and were greeted with kindness. Our room super romantic and lots of love making room! :))) it has that bohemian vibe that we were looking for! They were able to accommodate our last minute trip. The guest services desk were able to provide us guidance on where to eat and what to avoid. They even helped us set up tour guides! Thank you so much. We are here to be out with the old (literally) and in with the new! Continue to celebrate new beginnings, health, peaceful life, new chapter, my career, his promotion, and karma.... Bcuz you can't treat others like crap & think you will be happy. God sees it all! So far I recommend anyone planning a vacation to mark this one as a top choice. :)))) read more

I stayed in The Glass House at La Botanica and truly felt like I was living in a dream. Surrounded by nature on all sides, with light pouring in and greenery everywhere--it was like my own private sanctuary in the middle of paradise. Every detail was so intentional, from the natural textures to the calming minimalist design. It's the kind of place where you instantly exhale and slow down. What made my stay even more memorable was Chef Victor--he's a gem. Not only is his food nourishing and flavorful, but he himself is so sweet, kind, and welcoming. You can feel the love and care he puts into each meal. He made me feel right at home. The community vibe at La Botanica is something special--yoga in the mornings, meaningful conversations around the table, and plenty of space to reflect and reconnect. Whether you're solo or with a group, it's a space that meets you where you are. If you're looking for a soulful, stylish, and restorative escape in Puerto Rico, La Botanica--and especially The Glass House--is it. I'll absolutely be back. read more

Dear Francisco,…
Prior to booking our stay, I was intent on a mini wellness retreat, solo, to start off the new year. I recently completed a 5 day Ayurveda workshop so was inspired to try La Botanica. Once I booked my partner asked to join. I was elated. We chose PR for an easy non stop short flight from Boston. Booking was easy and Claudia and Kimberlina answered all questioned and secured our booking for Urban Treehouse. When we arrived, we entered through a wooden gate and found ourselves in the most splendid garden. The fresh tropical flowers and lush foliage created a warm and welcoming environment. We were greeted by a lovely woman and given a tour. We tucked away our luggage and headed to the beach. The walk is 5 minutes. When we checked in, we navigated a spiral staircase to our romantic oasis. The furnishings were so comfy and the outdoor shower, heaven. We heard the coqui's at night as we sat in our stools and sipped fresh filtered water and discussed our day. Gio and Adriana made lovely Ayurvedic breakfasts which we enjoyed once in house and once to go. The flavors were delicious and plating, artful. There is a water tea and coffee bar and if you wish, wine to purchase. The gift shop features lovely local artisan crafts and jewelry. They sell books from my two favorite authors, Yung Pueblo and my friends, The Ruiz Brothers. I enjoyed daily meditation by the fountain. I took one yoga class which was lovely. Nights were comfortable for sleep with no disturbances. Our stay was a slice of heaven. A side note, Gio, Claudia and Adriana went the extra mile during our stay to curate day trips and dining options. Everything they suggested was spot on. During check out, Kimberlina took time to inquire of my experience and to ensure check out was seamless. I cannot wait to return and will bring a group for retreat. In three days; I have an upcoming birthday trip to La Botanica; which I planned months ago. Yesterday, I reached out to schedule my events and received this email: "Please know unfortunately we have taken a temporary pause on our vegan dinners & are not offering them for the time being. We are also no longer offering the cooking & yoga workshop as our chef who host these events are out for the season. We are very sorry for the inconvenience. Nonetheless, we provide complementary yoga everyday at 8 a.m. We lay out mats, blocks & towels for you to use during the class and your stay! It is followed by our complimentary brunch from 9-11." I based my trip on PR because I wanted to experience the events this hotel had and has listed on their website (AFTER THIS REVIEW: I RECEIVED A CREDIT, I WAS TOLD I "MISTERPRETED OUR OFFERING" AND THEIR WEBSITE REMOVED THE SERVICES IN QUESTION.) I found La Botanica on Instagram so I based my travels around this hotel and its events. For example; my birthday is earlier in the week but I delayed my a trip to experience the 4-course vegan dinner on Friday. I was told "If the booking is canceled less than 7 days before arrival, then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made. We can give you the option to change your dates & have a credit with us for 1 year." I am extremely upset because this was disingenuous: 1. False advertisement. 2. I was not made aware of this change for of events. 3. I was not offered my money nor a discount. 4. Why would they think I would ever want credit for an unscrupulous company? 5. The last email (there is no phone number listed on their website) was never answered Why I was not made aware, why isn't there an attempt to correct this situation, and what other activities are available at their facility? Therefore in 3 days; I need to forfeit my deposit at La Botanica or find another hotel (last minute) or have a penalty with my airline for a location change. read more

I am writing this because I can not get this hotel to call me back after booking my reservation? I have called, left voicemails, emailed, Facebook messaged, everything. Has anyone else had this troubling experience with this hotel? The reviews all seem to be positive so I am unsure why I am having such a difficult time getting ahold of them for over a week now. read more

I stayed for 3 nights at this hotel, seven months ago, on my first trip to Puerto Rico. To this day, when I am stressed or overwhelmed, I choose to meditate on all those moments spent at La Botanica. That little piece of heaven on earth is a soul-soother, spirit-cleanser, energy-vitalizer...I can go on. Don't think twice, just book a room! Maybe first talk to the hotel receptionist about your personality and vacation goals, so they can set you up with the most appropriate room as it is a boutique hotel. Kimberlina was so sweet to show me around in all the other rooms and take pictures on my last day. The attention to each detail is phenomenal and inspiring. The young chef (whose name I forgot) was so delightful, chatting with me while I waited for her to cook my fresh hot Indian breakfast (reminded of my childhood days). She mentioned her upcoming plans of transferring soon to the other location on Vieques. That is apparently a much bigger, more intense Ayurvedic retreat. I can't wait to stay there when I visit PR next! read more

Dissapointed. The staff are amiable. The negative goes towards the management woman at the location. We had not a pleasent experience. The female boss was extremely rude plus condecending. definitely would not recommend this location or there services including lunch, especially the spa. Think twice before reserving. We suggest you search for better options elsewhere. Good luck. read more

Thank you guys for this amazing stay! I had a great time at La Botánica Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The vegan breakfast was very delicious! We stayed in 2 different rooms and both rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed including beach supplies as well. My favorite room was the one with the bathtub outside . The best part is every room had comfortable beds and a shower outside as well. This hotel is full of green plants and flowers, giving a lot of tropical vibes. The neighborhood is safe and the beach was very close, clean, and empty with no people. It was a wonderful experience and I would want to come back again because I loved staying here! read more

Had a stay in there Greenhouse Suite really enjoyed our stay there! Starting with the hospitality very caring making sure all yours needs are taken care of! Very friendly and amazing communication! Checking in and checking out was very easy! The room was just as the pictures very nice and calming. Theres a ductless ac system in the room so it can get a lil hot during sun peak hours however there's a fan in the ceiling and a fan you can plug in that helps a little bit with the heat. Coffee, tea, and water was provided as well! The hotel is very beautiful! Amazing plants and flowers throughout the space! There's tables in the patio you can hang out in which is a nice touch. If renting a car parking near by is limited and you have to be very careful where you park or you can get ticketed! Will be coming back! Definitely recommend checking them out and checking out the Greenhouse room as well as there other rooms! read more

I went here with my spouse for a stay-cation and couldn't be happier. The breakfast in the morning was high quality and delicious - I loved that it was vegan so I didn't have to ask what ingredients were in the meal and could just trust the chef. The bed in the room was so comfortable, I didn't want to get out of it in the morning. The outdoor shower was probably my favorite part and the only thing that could've made it better is if there was an outdoor bathtub as well. Overall, for the price and the amenities, I couldn't be happier and will certainly be back. read more

La Botanica is an absolute dream! I've stayed at their sister hotel in Vieques and loved it so much, so I knew this spot would be great! The property itself is absolutely gorgeous, and so was our room! We stayed in the glass cottage which has a beautiful outdoor tub & shower. We enjoyed the very delicious vegetarian breakfast that was included with our stay. What we loved most of all, was the kindness of the staff. We will most definitely be back! read more

I was fortunate enough to spend eight nights in this beautiful space in March 2023. I stayed in Sylvia's room which is very large and very comfortable. It was exactly what I needed for a vacation, somewhere where I could meditate and sit in the courtyard, read and drink good coffee . It's close to the beach and to many really good coffee shops and eateries , try la coffeetera , Dulce Salado and of course Pinky's .It's walking distance to the PR Museum of Art and to an outside free library . All of the staff are extremely kind. I will definitely be back in 2024 read more
