I came here looking for a bowl of Menudo on a Sunday last Autumn and I was surprised by what I saw…read more When my Menudo was brought to the table I realized why it was so expensive: it was ALL meat - about 80% soft tripe and 20% gelatinous foot meat with a bone. There was no pozole: None. Most regular Menudo bowls are around half & half, pozole to meat. But not here. And the bowl I got was really big. "So that's why only customers other than us were all getting the nearly $20 large Menudo to-go" I thought, "because if mom cooks up her own jumbo pozole soup at home (which has cheep ingredients and takes about 30 minutes to make), while dad runs to La Mexicana Buena Vista to pick up the tripe menudo (which has costly ingredients and takes about 4 hours to make), and then they are combined at home, this could feed 6 to 10 people. That's the way to go. Everything here is from tasty to delicious. But the Ambience here feels like a workroom at a theme park, an army grub station, or the St. Joseph spaghetti dinner in a Church basement.

New little gem that we stumbled on after checking out Savers next door…read more This is a New Mexican Grocery Store that opened up about two months ago. Nice, organized & clean. Large meat/deli section. We were hungry and discovered their little counter order restaurant within the grocery store. Between the 2 of us we had the Mexican chicken tacos with cilantro & onions. Sorry - I took the pictures after I devoured most of the taco. It was very good & I highly recommend. They also had a counter where they sold ice cream. Maybe next time we will try that. They have another location in downtown Crystal Lake located at 131 N Main Street. The employee that took our order was very nice. English was not her first language so one of the other employees helped her ring up our order. We had our hot meal in about 5 minutes. We will return!

Ambiance is ehh. Been to better tequila bars that arent over priced and food doesnt taste like reheated leftovers. Owner is a POS. NO ONE WANTS TO WORK FOR HIM OR WITH HIM. WAS a customer there for 5 yrs but i get trespassed all because i got bad food.
