I have a very dear friend who we consider a member of our family who recently moved into this…read morefacility. My friend could no longer live on her own and needed a safe nurturing environment with on site activities. I was on the hunt. I left a message one evening at Heritage and was contacted early the next morning. It was one of the easiest things I have done in the past few years dealing with facilities for both my Mom and husband. Everyone I met went out of their way and rearranged their schedules to facilitate a quick transfer out of a rehabilitation facility which my friend was paying out of pocket for since her insurance ran out. I am so impressed by the staff and their attitudes. They seem to enjoy their jobs! My friend loves the activities and the food. She calls me to brag about some of her meals. She is the happiest I have seen her in years! If you have someone who needs a safe haven to live and thrive in check out the Heritage. Retired RN

I recently moved BOTH of my parents into "The Heritage" and I really can't rave about it enough…read more The staff is WONDERFUL. The food is surprisingly great (I ate there for a week!), and the facility is homey, and very well decorated - and that's coming from me, an interior designer! The staff will really try to accommodate whatever you need - whether it be clean dish towels, a bath, a ride to dinner, or just about anything. I also enjoyed meeting the residents. It's important to live with nice people, too! ;-) I highly recommend The Heritage at Framingham.

A 5 star-facility that we are happy my mother is at. She has now been in there Memory Care unit…read morecalled "Avita Community" since march 2022. She is 97 and has limited age related memory. She does have ups and downs physically, but the attention and care she gets brings her right back to as they call it her "Baseline" Head nurse Enid Parker and nursing staff Jason, Karyn, Annett and Judy give her compassionate care. They readily inform us of a status change, if a new care plan needs to be put in place or just updates of the days events. This is key info as we are out of state. On many occasions, we have participated in the activities run by Taryn, Anna or Dawn. They do keep them active and focused even sending us a video or her dancing. Yes, the "Avita Community" has a safe, secure area, but it doesn't feel like a prison. Cloth napkins on the table, beautiful outside area, large activity room. She has a large bedroom/private bath that the housekeeping dept. has kept fresh and tidy. Hat's of to the Chef, yummy food even we have sampled, the best baked haddock ever, delicious butternut squash, mashed potatoes and a mouth-watering lemon square. A real home-made meal. Upon arriving at Carriage House, we have been greeted by many of the assisted living residents enjoying rocking on the front porch. Upon entering you are greeted by very professional reception worker, Joanne, Karen, Sue or Cathy. They help you thru the precautionary steps you must follow to visit. We love that the communication is transparent and readily available even including from Director John Radcliff. Many thanks to all those we have not mentioned such as the aids that work hard. She gets a ton of individual attention and support - not just for the necessary things (bathing, dressing, etc.) but also on the social front, finding what she likes and helping her do the things she enjoys doing. I love knowing that she's in such great hands!

My brother had to take a leave of absence because they were so unreliable. They use the excuse that they have kid's...don't most of us have kid's. From day one, their team showed genuine compassion, professionalism, and dedication. They took the time to understand his health issues and created a care plan that made him feel safe, supported, and respected. One of the biggest challenges for our family was managing his medications, and the caregivers handled this with absolute precision and care. They were always attentive, organized, and patient--making sure he stayed on track and fully explaining anything he didn't understand. It gave our entire family peace of mind knowing he was in such capable hands. Beyond the medical support, the caregivers treated my uncle with warmth and kindness. They listened to him, encouraged him, and made his days brighter. It's rare to find a team that combines skill, compassion, and reliability so seamlessly. I am truly grateful for everything they've done. If you're looking for a home care agency that goes above and beyond, this is the one you can trust.

If you are involved in your loved one's care, I strongly recommend you do not bring them here. Go…read moreas much as you can, go when they're not expecting you. You will quickly see that they simply do not care. My father missed multiple important appointments while under their care. They never scheduled a GI appointment despite repeated requests. His catheter change -- which he needs for dialysis -- was missed because they failed to stop his J-tube feeding 24 hours beforehand. Told them multiple times my dad was discharged with a wrong med/old med list.. that it was not on his med list from MGH and they didn't even care to make a appointment to see if he really needed it or not. They told me themselves they wanted him on a stronger dose of metropolol ! Which is CRAZY to me because if someone tells you he's not supposed to be on it, no one makes a cardiovascular appointment to verify what he really needs... why would you make it stronger?? On another occasion, they forgot him in his room for over an hour and did not have him ready for his dialysis appointment. Metro West Transport even told me themselves that this was why they had to leave, they only wait 10 minutes. I also informed staff during a care meeting that it looked like my father was developing a bedsore. Nothing was done. When I asked staff later on if it had been documented, staff told me no. It was only treated after he left and went to another hospital. What's most frustrating is that now, after he has left their facility, they seem aware and concerned about what's happening with him outside of their care. Yet while he was there, they showed little concern -- even leaving him sitting in a wheelchair for over an hour by himself, not being able to reach his call bell. My dad's exact words to me were: "Sarah I'm dizzy, they forgot about me... I didn't go to dialysis." Absolutely unacceptable! Patients deserve dignity, attention, and proper care while in your care... not after discharge ! Even when talking to them it didn't even seem like they cared. Best thing about this place is the CNA's. Lost count of how many times the CNA's told me the staff doesn't listen to them... even if they try to advocate for a patient.
