So apparently you need a reservation for this place. We walked in right on time and got the last table. Loved this place!. At first it felt weird because there was no one else but us but that was because there was a reservation for a big party that took all the tables. The waiter was very helpful and spoke a little bit of English. Then a second waiter spoke English and Spanish.. Since we speak Spanish we're able to pick up on keywords in Italian that made it easier to communicate. But he spoke Spanish very well. Recommended some Ice cream spot a couple of block down, which turned out to be good:) in overall, this place was very cozy, quiet, and the food was excellent!

This place is a classic. Everything about it is perfect. The room, the service, the wine, and the food. First I had selections from the antipasto buffet (serve yourself), each item worth its weight in gold, ultra fresh produce, spiced traditionally with a deft touch. And the waiter is more knowledgeable of wine than most sommeliers in the states, brought me a half bottle of a white I never heard of, squarely between a prosecco and an Alsacian, a nectar of the gods. And then he shows me today's catch, again, fish I'm unfamiliar with, too-superstitions to order the devil fish, though he touted it as remarkable, I took something I took to be akin to seabass, and clearly the fish had been happily swimming in turquoise seas this very morning how fresh it was, grilled to perfection, and drizzled with olive oil and a squeeze of lemon. I haven't had dessert yet, but if is a slice of Carvel birthday cake this place is still worth a trip to Sicily, on its own merits.

We did not do the tasting menu, some iffy stomachs in the crowd. Rabbit, veal chicken and pasta were the mains, the Palermo appetizers to split. Went with the sommelier recommendation, not sure that was the right choice. My daughter loved the simple roast chicken and bride loved the veal chop. Daughters friend had the rabbit and it was great. Maybe my fault didn't do the spleen and lung, now I feel offal. Good meal but had higher expectations

This is clearly a tourist trap. Although the restaurant proudly displays its Michelin stickers, in…read morereality it is selling mediocre overpriced food. You can get much better authentic food at trattorias around the corner in the alleys at much better prices. The menu is surprisingly limited, offering very few choices, while the "dishes of the day" amounted to a single, unimaginative option. (At real Palermitani restaurants the "plates of the day" are a list of specials with fresh ingredients--not here). The wine selection was equally underwhelming and overpriced with a very stingy pour. The biggest disappointment was the degustazione appetizer. For 20 euro they served a small plate of very ordinary street food (caponata, overcooked tuna, re-warmed panelle)--nothing memorable, nothing that showcased local tradition or exceptional ingredients or any elevation or unique twist. You can find these same dishes throughout Palermo for a fraction of the price, fresher, and better quality. What makes this especially frustrating is the pricing. By Palermo standards, the restaurant is extremely expensive, but there's little on the plate or in the glass to justify the premium. It feels as though you're paying for the Michelin stickers on the door rather than the quality of the food. You will see there are no locals here, only foreign tourists steered here by their hotel or guidebooks. Overall, this was a disappointing experience. If you're looking for authentic Palermitan cuisine, generous hospitality, and good value, there are countless restaurants in Palermo that deliver all three far better than this one.

The sandwich here is served slightly different than other locations as the meat is sliced very thin and its topped with shredded cheese. At first we were a little nervous about trying the sandwich but after the first bite i was pleasantly surprised that the cheese really cut organ taste of the spleen. In addition the thinly sliced meat gave it a good balance between the meat to fat ratio. I know a lot of people in our food group were apprehensive about trying it but to be honest my wife and I are pretty open to all types of food and our motto is that will always try something once.

Antica Focacceria's two owners stood against the Mob by refusing to pay the 'pizzu', or protection money. According to Michelin Star Chef #giorgiolocatelli , the consequence is even in recent years, the owners were in exile. Now settled in a confidential place in mainland Italy, they fortuitously and successfully managed the expansion of this Sicilian restaurant all over Italy. Proudly supportive, I sat at the very first branch of the restaurant, the gutsy one that courageously said no to mob bullying, the original Antica Focacceria San Francesco . And I went twice, too. This spot knows how to bring fun people in thanks to him. When seated you get a complimentary sparking wine and then the fun begins. The beats on the menu are fabulous and flavourful. The Caprese salad had fresh tomatoes and homemade mozzarella cheese that made you want more. We had two Manzo Steak and they made it the way I like it. The steak melted in my mouth. Then they brought out the big guns the Steak Florentina OMG it comes out sizzling on a hot skillet and this sucker can feed 2 to 3 people on its own. Then came out the Canolo and damn it was good. Then the tiramisu and I have eaten lots of tiramisu and this was not that crap lady fingers soaked in watery flavours. This was the real deal Holyfield and was made to perfection. The creamy and smooth flavors were as if it was sent from the gods. This has been the best one I have EVER had and it was so good I had to let them know. It was Tutto Bene!!! And absolutely divine. All of the staff was very friendly including the cat that roams around Mykaela who was introduced to us by another server who was very good but I did not remember her name. While taking photos I spoke with the owner George and he was an amazing humble man and was so happy we enjoyed our time here. I highly recommend this spot because of the service, the food, the drink, and also the live music that calls you like a siren luring you in. #icucci #palmero #italytravel #italy #tripadvisor #yelpelite #vacation
