    White fish on potatoes
    Stacy S.

Excellent! Nice variety of items on the menu, especially since I don't do ANY seafood (fish, shellfish, NOTHING!). I had the Land Cannoli (ricotta ravioli go in black pig Ragu)....yup, my first time having black pig anything! It was simply delicious! Hubby had the white fish on potatoes, which he said was very good! We started though with Caprese, needless to say, buffalo mozzarella....delicious! The wait staff was great! We would definitely eat here again.

Just one word to discribe: AWESOME!!! If I will be in Palermo again, I'll eat there every day! The food is delicious. Found the restaurant here on YELP with 4,5 Stars. In my opionen thats not enough, if I could give more than five stars I would give every number of stars! As I wrote, the food was delicious, the waitrer friendly, always asking for well-being and the recommendation for the wine was perfect. And holy sh.., the dessert was awesome. You guys have to choose the mixed dessert plate! Eat there, you will not regret

    Zuppa! (Veggie soup)

We're staying just off Piazza Bologni where this restaurant is located and after passing by for a day and a half, we decided to stop in for a late lunch. Vegan options in Palermo are fairly limited, so I was pleased to find a couple of unexpected items: an eggplant appetizer (caponata) and a cream of veggie soup. The caponata is an antipasto to be shared, but I had mine like a salad and with no intention of sharing. Now this was not like Nonna used to make, but if you're into eggplant this is - WOW! I'm sure I won't get all the ingredients, but imagine pickled chunks of eggplant with chopped olives, onions and (I think) orange bell pepper. Finished it. And the soup.... This was like a thick cream of fava bean soup my Peruvian wife makes (crema de havas) which is thick (espresso), like cream of wheat - but this stuff was green! I can't tell you was in it, but talk about lick-the-bowl-clean good! Here's what the menu has to say: La zuppa di cereali (Crema di brodo vegetale con cereali, olio e.v.o, e rosmarino fresco) I think that's something like veggie cream of wheat with olive oil and rosemary. Anyway - check these guys out when you're in town. They check all the boxes, great food quality, great flavors, great service.

Came for lunch. Looked empty at first especially with busy Cafe next door but what a pleasant surprise! The food is incredible and locally sourced, the staff is super professional and kind. Just a great place to go!! Grazie!!!

"Soute" for two people for €60 (recommended by the waiter without mentioning the price), bigger than it looks on the picture.

Some of the items are ridiculously more expensive than the rest, so watch out what you order, especially if the waiter recommends a particular dish - check the price on the menu before saying yes! Also, when I ordered the raw fish appetizer for 14 euros, the waiter suggested making it "un poco piu abundante" to share, and then charged 30 euros for it. More than doubling the original price seems a little steep to me as a price change he didn't confirm with me, for something I understood as "rounding up"... Other than that, the service was wonderful, extremely friendly. They also brought us a little prosecco at first as well as limoncello in the end on the house. As for the food itself: very fresh fish and seafood, nicely presented, but not overwhelming flavors. I guess they let the fish speak for itself. I personally would have preferred something a little more sophisticated than simple red wine vinegar to accompany my raw platter of shellfish, oysters, shrimp and fish, especially for the price. Overall, we left the place very happy and only later, when reviewing the bill, started to feel a bit disappointed.

Excellent location quiet, "romantic". Staff very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend the fried sardine appetizer. I never asked or noticed the prices but got out for at least €20 less than expected.

Right in the hear of the Quadro Conti. Enjoy people watching, musicians performing and delicious fresh food. Very nice staff.

    caffè freddo

Lovely riposo pomeridiano Although we observed a number of restaurants in the square, we were immediately greeted by the hostess of I Cucci with a friendly, welcoming smile. Our light lunch consisted of caffè freddo, la caprese (mouthwatering buffalo mozzarella and beautifully ripened grape tomatoes), and carpaccio (fresh and delicious raw fish and fruit). The caffè freddo, as well as both antipasti were beautifully presented and delicious.

After a day of sightseeing in Palermo this is the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy Italian birras, great, locally sourced ingredients-based food. There were many vegan and vegetarian options (try the due ratatouille preparation - cooked and raw!) so my daughter was happy . The black bread was awesome with their lovely olive oil and rock salt - so Bella!! Loved it - and was glad to find it on Yelp.

Meat tartar! To be eaten counterclockwise.

Great place with sophisticated, high-end cuisine. Highly recommended to be the best decoration of any Sicily vacation. Do not miss starters: raw fish assortment is especially recommended, outrageous (!) explosion of taste. Follow recommendations of waiter how to eat it. Perfect up to the last bite! Meat tartar and spaghetti pesto with mussels are also an absolute must. Wine selection is also great.

The First Restaurant Experience in Sicily Served Food & Some "Godfather History"…read more I ate at the main branch of restaurant that is known for being one of the first and, for many years, an establishment that stood up against the Mafia and Cosa Nostra. Antica Focacceria's two owners stood against the Mob by refusing to pay the 'pizzu', or protection money. According to Michelin Star Chef #giorgiolocatelli , the consequence is even in recent years, the owners were in exile. Now settled in a confidential place in mainland Italy, they fortuitously and successfully managed the expansion of this Sicilian restaurant all over Italy. Proudly supportive, I sat at the very first branch of the restaurant, the gutsy one that courageously said no to mob bullying, the original Antica Focacceria San Francesco . And I went twice, too. While in Palermo, this was one of the stops our food guide took us to in order to have its famous…read morespleen sandwich. The sandwich here is served slightly different than other locations as the meat is sliced very thin and its topped with shredded cheese. At first we were a little nervous about trying the sandwich but after the first bite i was pleasantly surprised that the cheese really cut organ taste of the spleen. In addition the thinly sliced meat gave it a good balance between the meat to fat ratio. I know a lot of people in our food group were apprehensive about trying it but to be honest my wife and I are pretty open to all types of food and our motto is that will always try something once.
