The quick story is every year on the way up to Lake George we stay at the Hyatt in Saratoga. This year we booked late and it was all filled. We came across this Hyatt (only around 20 minutes away) which was truly a blessing. The hotel is in a gorgeous location, right on the river with waterfront views. It's across the street from a gorgeous and modern apartment complex with a few eateries on the bottom. We usually come up at night, just in time for dinner, so after a long car ride it was wonderful to be able to walk across the street and grab dinner at the brewery. And a scenic waterfront dinner, at that. Again the hotel is brand new, so because of that the facility is gorgeous and so clean. There's a nice lobby bar area, a gym with brand new peloton equipment and a small indoor pool. Our two queen room was pretty spacious and also had a pull out couch. There's a very nice complimentary hotel breakfast, and a huge bonus is that you can eat it outside and enjoy a riverfront breakfast. I can't imagine that we'd choose the Hyatt in Saratoga (much older, not walkable to any restaurants, no river view) after staying here. Perfect for our needs. 10/10.

Went to stay here on our honeymoon for an elevated stay experience. I stay at Marriot properties…read moreover 20 times per year, and had high hopes. Unfortunately, what I got was not an elevated experience. We chose this hotel because it was newer, had amenities, and seemed elevated. At check in, we were told we are required to pay $30/day for an amenity fee. Okay got it, this place maybe has some elevated amenities. The key amenity we were looking forward to enjoying was the sauna. After changing and going down to the sauna the next day, we learned it was out of order, and was not going to be working for the rest of our stay. We spoke to the front desk to see what the hotel could do (cover the cost of using an off-site sauna, offer a partial refund, etc), but the front desk said all they could do was take a note for the manager. After not hearing from the manager the next day, we went back to the front desk to a different worker, and got the same response. "We can't do anything, all we can do is let the manager know". Days have gone by and I still have not heard from the manager, despite follow ups. The whole stay wasn't bad, but we were paying $110 per night over an equivalent Marriot property for amenities that were out of order, and in one case "out of stock".

My husband John and I have experienced several rehab facilities over the years. Some so-so, some…read morevery bad. John came to Glendale for rehab in early April 2025. What a wonderful place! John and I are very impressed. His private room is very spacious with three large picture windows looking out to lovely fields and woods. It's immaculately clean. All the staff are wonderful, especially OTs and PTs. They have given John many hours of therapy with great compassion, kindness, and professionalism. He is in a lot of pain. The aides and nurses are so caring and kind to him. In his younger years, he had a band which played at Glendale often. We love that there is entertainment in the Multi-Purpose Room about twice a week, including everything from folk bands, DJs, and even an Elvis impersonator! Last week, an ice cream social was held outside with a singer and Mr. Ding-a-Ling giving out ice cream. This type of thing helps relieve boredom which can happen easily when confined to a bedroom. Also, once a week religious services are given. As devout Catholics, we appreciate mass and communion each Tuesday. The Director Todd visits every resident to make sure they are happy and asks if there is anything he could do to help them. We never saw this before in other facilities. John says the food is wonderful. I wish I could eat there every day. A menu is given a month in advance so you can select all of your meals. On Thursdays, pizza is delivered by a local pizzeria. Every place is spotless. If you have any concerns, they are addressed immediately. So I thank everyone who works at Glendale Home. You make my life and my husband's live very much better. Thank you. It's…read moremagnificent-- from the moment you walk through the massive guardian lions at the front door to the banquet tables in the Great Hall to the Kennedy room at the top. This is not a food destination. The Castle has a limited menu, not offering cocktails or apps. We ordered a basic bottle of red, Apothic. Ciabatta bread was served, but there was no sign of bread plates. My husband ordered the salmon, and I ordered the braised short rib. Both were mid, not much flavor, and the table didn't even offer salt and pepper. When I requested it, it was graciously provided. Each meal came with an historical salad, circa Alexander the Great. When our meals came, they were warm, served with unimaginative vegetables. They did offer a purple carrot, a unicorn in Amsterdam. In a spectacular location like this, they could do a killing if their food was as unique and as inspired as their ambience. The service was solid. Everyone we encountered did their best to meet our needs. They were obviously kind people. At $140 for two with gratuity, this was steep for what we got.
