I had my first ever MRI in Clifton Park today. I did not know beforehand what the fasting test…read morewould entail. It was prescribed by my gastro doctor. 1. An IV to inject dye was needed. I am a "difficult draw" because of my small arteries. The staff member who did my MRI put the IV in skillfully on the first try which does not always happen. Thankful for her expertise! 2. The MRI was 20-25 minutes long and noisy. I had to wear a headset. She gave me a much appreciated and needed break after 10 minutes. There were lots of recorded holding your breath prompts through the test. 3. I received assistance getting off the table and placed in a wheelchair for a few minutes. It was a fasting test, so I appreciated the juice and pretzels that were offered to me. A nurse checked out that I was feeling well enough to leave the waiting room. I was. The check in women had no personable skills. Her customer service wasn't very nice. Then, we get walked into a room that had crumbs on the table. Obviously it wasn't wiped down, prior to us. The nurse came in and scared my son with the swab stick, told him she was swabbing and he would gag. Scared the crap out of my 6 year old the way she said it. He opened his mouth she attempted to swab, he moved and she said, "don't touch my hand in a rude voice". Unbelievable, the staff here. The dr came in and she seemed personable but only comment was that her hair wasn't groomed which made sense why the cleanliness of the room wasn't made important before arrival. Being that this is…read morean urgent care, I was a bit surprised that you have to schedule an appointment to be seen, hence minus one star. The earliest appointment was one hour from when I got there, so I waited. Once I arrived, they brought me straight into the back right away. The initial doctor who saw me was very sweet and welcoming and made me feel cared about. The second doctor listened to what I said with intent and gave me a proper examination. I ended up being prescribed with antibiotics due to a possible ear/sinus infection. Nothing took too long (besides the initial waiting), everyone was nice, and I was actually listened to and taken seriously (unlike Ellis Urgent Care at Mohawk Harbor). Thank you!

She said I was up next to go into an exam room, but there were six people ahead of me in six exam rooms, and it would be at least a couple of hours before I was taken care of because there's only one medical person (doctor? NP?) working that day and she had a migraine and was working slowly. I left, and made an appointment with my physician, even though I have to wait four days to be seen. By the way, this particular Wellnow is no longer associated with Saint Peter's, though the sign is still on the building stating it is. Also, the reception area was extremely cold. The few people in there were complaining, but the receptionist had no control over the temperature. It was so cold I stood outside to warm up.

Almost everything on the tray is white (bread/pasta/rice/SUGAR) and there is high fructose corn syrup in EVERYTHING including the ginger ale. WTF? Ellis Hospital does not provide patients with any ACTUAL FOOD. At least nothing edible. Fresh veg is NEVER provided, rather they serve some dead, frozen veg along with a TINY burger in a HUGE bun (white bread, of course), and the only beverages provided other than water have HFCS in them, same as all of the "desserts". It's as if they actually want their patients to be unhealthy. The basic neglect and unacceptable level of "care" is off the charts. When a bed-ridden patient rings the bell and then has to wait TWENTY-FIVE MINUTES for someone to show up it is unacceptable. I find it difficult to believe Ellis has kept its JCAHO accreditation. According to Google they have it, but I cannot fathom why they still do. This place seems to be at least 20 years behind normal standards. Their doctors do not even carry tablets. They seem to rely on "memory" for everything a patient tells them. I have yet to see even ONE "doctor" write down or log anything. Hell, I have never seen ANY medical "professional" log ANYTHING AT ANY TIME. DO NOT EVER allow ANYONE you love to be sent to Ellis Hospital. You will regret it.
