if you have ever wished you could be in the TV show scrubs, a teaching hospital where the drs are still learning but you still get quality care, then Ellis family medicine seems like a good choice for a dr. but NO. after one appointment you'll be wishing you had the writers from scrubs as a dr because they seemed to know more about medicine than these drs! good luck getting your concerns delt with. Having a dr. not know something and have them Google it in front of you is just depressing. at least leave the room. tests ordered never get done. and good luck actually calling and talking to a dr or even a nurse. take this review as you will. this is just one mans opinion read more

Doc put in scripts they told me they would call to setup appointments for them. No calls they don't follow up or follow threw. People expect you to take care of yourself. Etc.. but it's the hospital that does not follow up or follow threw. Makes me wonder if I should really care about my health when the hospital acts like they dont. read more

The past few times that I have visited here lousy but surprisingly, it was pleasant today.

I called this morning 2/6/19 and was on hold for 43 minutes until a girl picked up and asked me to hold. I grabbed a cell phone and called again while remaining on hold with the other phone. I waited 27 minutes for someone to pick up on the cell phone, all while the other was still on hold, only to find out they are not accepting new patients. By the way, after they picked up on the cell phone I hung the other one up that was still on hold past the one hour mark. Not sure I wanted to go there after all that anyway! read more

I come to get blood drawn here at the health center as its the next building/driveway from my doctors office at the Medical Arts building. Very friendly staff, well usually everyone is friendly and really nice right when you walk in. Liz (lead supervisor) she's extremely rude but why let that affect my review for this clean and nicely put establishment. Love the guys at the lab, Faroz, Peter and Kara! Kara has gone the extra mile to make someone feel really comfortable considering this is a phlebotomy lab it's quiet fast and pain free. They're always cheery and plenty of parking. You must have scripts and have to register every time you go for safety and health reasons, which can be a tad bid redundant but that's the policy. Liz should be removed from the front lobby area as she shouldn't be the first one to greet or be rude because that's her thing and that's not a way to treat anyone coming to the facility for any type of care. The lab is great, all I have is good things to say about the Lab! read more

Honestly, the surgery we had for our son went very well. My issue is with the COST of seeing a darn doctor here. They gave us an estimated cost of surgery of $600... only to get 5 bills in the mail totaling $2700. So excuse me for wondering... what in the WORLD costs $400 for an OFFICE VISIT? According to your "billing associate" it was because the dr removed ear wax from my son's ears. NOT ONCE WAS I TOLD THAT I WOULD PAY $400 for this. I could have damn well done that myself. And realistically, there is NO way in hell that a 15 minute office visit and ear wax removal costs that much (AFTER INSURANCE) SOOOOO how about your drs stop feeling privileged and stop overcharging people. I could have told you going into that room that my son needed surgery. I don't need an M.D. after my name to tell you that. But because of your damn letters, that information costs me $400. Thank you for the highway robbery of your operation you are running here. And don't tell me its because of my insurance. It's because you overcharge for services and your dr's "time." I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. And you wonder why people hate doctors.... maybe its because its a complete damn waste of time and money to go see one. read more

This review is for the Pediatricians' office at Ellis Primary Care. We loved them. I had two children in Schenectady, and have recently moved. In looking for a new practice I've realized just how good we had it. Our PCP was Patricia Hughes, who just had such a wonderful manner with my boys, was very non-judgemental (a lot of pediatricians can foist their ideas about non-medical parenting issues off on you) and a wonderful listener. The staff were wonderful (nurse Tammy! Emily in reception...) We never had any trouble getting sick visits, though I do think they might be a bit over-subscribed. I am new to the area and was looking for a new primary care doctor. This health center was the closest to my house, so, I made an appointment. First of all, I made the appointment a month and a half ago. Today was the earliest they could get me in. My appointment was at 2:15. they told me to come at 1:40 for paper work. The paper work was literally one line, and two signatures. The place was FILTHY! The waiting area was full of trashy people swearing, and openly talking about doing drugs. Half of the patients were wearing pajamas. The smell was unbearable! Like body odor and onions. There was actually poop on the floor, from what, I dont know. I waited for 2 hours before I was called. When I got in, I saw dirty walls, and people standing all over the place. The nurse was an absolute idiot, and actually took my vitals in the Hallway in front of everyone. I was then asked to wait in the waiting room AGAIN for the doctor. I waited for another 30 minutes until I was called. I was placed in a patient room that actually had a camera in it. -Isn't that illegal? I waited another 10 minutes for her to come. I guess the doctors there are actually students. I didn't know that. But, she was nice. I had no issue with her. But our visit lasted about 8 minutes until we were done, and I had to wait AGAIN for the receptionist to give me an appointment. I waited for about 20 minutes before I FINALLY gave up and left! That place is absurd! I wont be returning! And I would NEVER suggest this place to anyone! Not anyone with any class anyway! The place is dirty, the staff are rude, idiotic, and some do not even speak very well English. Their patient privacy is non-existent! Terrible, very gross place! read more

I had a question about my bill from Ellis and I called to speak with the billing center and right from the start the lady on the phone was incredibly nasty. I told her I had no idea what the bill was for and then she huffed and was like read the back of it. I was like I see that, but I didn't have that done so I am confused as to what I am paying for when my insurance says that I owe nothing. She proceeded to speak in a very rude manor and said she did not know and would have to send the bill back to billing to have them review it. I asked her how would I know if the bill is real or something that just got messed up. She again as rude as can be was like they will send the bill out to you again when they do their next billing cycle. I was said to her, I just want to know so a bill is not hanging on my end. She said someone will call you and then she HUNG UP ON ME!! REALLY?? This is how they choose to do business. Screw something up and then when the patient calls to ask why you are billing them you hang up the phone! She probably is not going to do anything with my bill. Stay away from these people. I can tell you that they have no idea what is going on and I am most certainly finding someone else who actually cares about the people they deal with!! read more
