I have not visited this place yet and I am already in lust. Someone brought in a pumpkin pie to the office and I have to say it is THE best pumpkin pie I have had. It was really more like a tart because it was not thick. The filling was creamy pumpkin goodness that was topped with a thin layer of cinnamon flavored merangue and the crust had bits of pecans in it. I've always been a fan of the sweeter things and was first introduced to some of Gioia's amazing sweets thru Small Tea in the Gables. They were so delicious and I'd come back over and over again just to pair my teas with yet another treat. On one particular day, I noted a post advertising some pies and a Meet the Baker sesh at the tea spot. There was no doubt in my mind that I needed to be there to try the pies and meet the maker of my sudden obsession. Mari was undoubtedly the sweetest and nicest person ever. I binged on all her pies in one sitting and it was friendship at first sight. Since then, I have used her for gifts, catering orders and sudden cravings. This is a hidden gem! We ordered several items for Father's Day (sorry for late review! ) and everyone loved them so much! The coconut pie is incredible! Everyone was fighting over the last bites. We also ordered the chocolate chip/Nutella cookies and they were delicious. Perfect texture and not overwhelmingly sweet. Lastly we tried the guava polvorones, they were a bit hit also. This is the one. It's been difficult to find a good bakery after moving to Miami and I had to drive 45 min each way to Casa Gioia but oh was it worth it!! The dulce de leche Dominican cake was gorgeous! And a steal for the price. The cake is huge, sturdy and delicious. There is a dulce de leche filling that is amazing!! I also appreciated that they texted me a day after pickup to ensure I liked the cake. Great customer service. Highly recommend. I can't wait to try more of the things on the menu! read more

After salivating over Casa Gioia's Instagram posts for what felt like eons, I FINALLY got to try their delectable pastries for myself! Since I live in Brickell and work Downtown, I rarely ever leave the area which explains why I hadn't experienced Casa Gioia heaven yet. HOWEVER, I learned about their Art Basel pop-up at 19 East Flagler Street which started today and goes through Sunday and just HAD to go. Luckily, the pop-up is just a couple of blocks from my office so I grabbed a friend and dragged her over there with me (because I refuse to engage in gluttony on my own). As soon as I walked in, I felt like i'd died and gone to heaven. I was so overwhelmed by the delicious array of options that I had to take a moment to pull myself together. I ended up opting for the dulce de leche churro pops and a nutella chocolate chip cookie. I also got to try the brownie and the guava cake that my friend purchased. Absolutely everything was perfect. It was so good in fact that I may have to go back tomorrow (don't judge me). Also, for the record I did not only have cookies and brownies for lunch. Actually, also at the pop-up was Small Tea, so I got to buy a turkey and avocado wrap from them and pretend to be "healthy." The wrap was delicious! Where do I even begin? My daughter thinks the rosemary shortbread cookies are the best she's ever tried. In her entire life. If I don't have slices of Casa Gioia Zucchini Bread in my freezer AT ALL TIMES, I break out in a cold sweat and wonder if the sky is falling. The alfajores are... RIDICULOUS, and the owner and her mother are the sweetest, funniest most down to earth people possible. You cannot go wrong, ever. First off, I am a BIG fan of this place. Nutella cookies are a must and the Guava bites are PERFECTION. Melt in your mouth delicious. Amazing! I tried the mini pies from the Bites Collection and I was impressed not only with the taste, but also with the presentation and the care Mari took to make sure I was beyond satisfied with my order. All of the bites were delicious but special props to the Pecan Pie (fresh and my favorite!) and Lemon Lime (not too sweet, not too tarty, just perfect). The first time I tried Casa Gioia's cakes was at a kids birthday party. The owner and her mom were teaching cake decoration to 8 year olds. They are both amazing people, kind, funny, and good nature. The owner has a talent for both baking and teaching young kids. I was impressed with her Dominican cake. It's delicious both inside and outside (meaning, the frostin) And what shocked me most was that EVERY SINGLE kid ate their whole piece of cake. I have two little kids and I constantly go to birthday parties where kids just eat one or two bites of an amazing looking birthday cake and then they set it aside. With Casa Giogia's cake it's totally different! Kids love it and the most amazing discovery is that it doesn't have to be even chocolate flavor! So I ordered a cake for my daughter's First Communion. The presentation and taste were spectacular. So much so that everyone commented about the delicious cake! I am very picky with bithday cakes and this one is definitely my top choice!! read more

Obsessed is the only word I can possibly use for this place!! All of Marie's desserts are out of this world. My top favorite is the Tres Leche! Very creamy but just perfectly sweet. If your in Miami, you have to try this place! I'm obsessed with Nutella, so clearly their Nutella cookies are my favorite, but the Rosemary shortbread is a a very close second. I am notorious amongst my friends for not eating brownies because they taste "eggy" to me. It's super off putting and so I stay away from them. I tried one of Casa Gioia's brownies on a whim and they are the most delicious brownies I've had in all of my life!! So great that I'll drive from waaaaaay down south just to buy some brownies. I cannot explain how amazing these brownies are you have to try them to know what I mean. Amazing, fudgy, chewy, melt in your mouth deliciousness. Casa Gioia is absolutely incredible!!! I've tried their desserts in each of my three trips to Miami this year and was compeltely blown away! Their Bites Collection is rich in variety, amazing flavors, and beautiful presentation. I also have a serious weakness for those delicious chocolate chip nutella cookies that melt with every bite... a definite must! The owner, Mari, is incredibly charming, talented, and devoted to her work. She makes every customer feel at home and really goes the extra mile to leave her clients beyond happy with her work. Delicious desserts! I ordered the nutella cookies, oreo shortbread, alfajores, and guava polvorones to be shipped to California. Shipping only took 2 days to get all the way from Miami. Everything was delicious, but my favorites were the nutella cookies and alfajores! I couldn't stop eating the nutella cookies - they have just the right balance of salty and sweet! Without exaggerating, all of Casa Gioia's desserts are amazing, but I had tried recently the Cake Clusters!!!!!! As we say in Spanish: "guay mi mai". They are just an unstoppable delight. They have the right crunchiness covered with an explendid amount of chocolate, just perfect to satisfy both desires. It is a great replacement for the almond clusters without the nuts which is less fat and perfect for anyone allergic to nuts. Super recommended! read more

I have ordered many times from Casa Gioia and each time Mari exceeds my expectations. I proposed an idea for my dad's 80th birthday party and not only did she produce a wonderful flavorful cake for such an important event, but she produced a wonderful memory with accent pieces left as a souvenir for my dad on his special day. This is the ONLY place I order my cakes from and will be coming back for every future special event. read more

I had the salted, Nutella, chocolate chip cookies and they were divine. It was the perfect blend between moist deliciousness in the inside and scrumptious crunchiness in the out. Casa Gioia itself has an abundant selection of desserts perfect for small, as well has large gatherings. I honestly can't wait until they start delivering to the big apple!!! Mari's (the owner) creativity is through the roof. It is dumbfounding how she can mix such different flavors that normally wouldn't go together. She makes them work in such a harmonious balance pleasing the most discerning palates with each bite. I highly recommend them for anyone who wants an amazing dessert for any event. read more

Wow, is all I can say about these desserts. Everything from the Nutella cookies to the guava polverones to the brownies are spectacular. Don't even get me started on the her famous tres leche!! Simply out of this world!! As you can tell completely in love with all of her desserts. read more

It's a small little bakery that just proves the saying big things come in small packages. To start the staff is beyond friendly and attentive. I was greeted quickly and offered free samples which were delicious. I came to pick up a Strawberry Pavlova cake for a birthday but I couldn't wait so I ordered a small personal one for me. They also threw in a complimentary cuarto leche sample which was unexpected. Such a nice touch. The Pavlova was delicious. The perfect balance of sweet of the dulce de leche and the freshness of the Strawberries. The shop itself was extremely clean and minimalistic which I enjoyed.
