Wow this place was amazing! Would come back every day if I lived in Miami. Arepa fritters were super unique and tasty, and they had a great gooey and cheesy center. I knew when I planned this trip with my friend that I wanted to take her here for her 1st time because I had loved its aesthetics as well as nice looking pastries! I ordered the Exotic Tart as well as one of their berry tart-like pastries and loved both! The tropical tart which had passionfruit was the perfect ratio of tartness with sweet, and the crust was the perfect texture. I also really enjoyed the berry dessert, because I'm always a fan of tart-like pastries with fresh fruit on top. I had brunch at Bachour with some friends. We made a reservation since Saturday brunch can be quite busy. When we got to the restaurant it was as expected very busy but we were seated at our table within 5 minutes. The ham that was provided with the scrambled eggs was really tasty and definitely elevated the dish from your standard scrambled eggs. I would've given this trip 5 stars but the service was not great. The woman at the counter was rude and kept on pushing us to the side and taking other orders. Have made Bachor a possible bday tradition for the person that I cherish to go for brunch as it's highly recommended. I'm surprised I did not write a review based on last year's experience, but based on this year's experience, I ordered pollo saltado and it was average. The chicken breast pieces were over cooked, the flavor of the saltado was just ok. We also ordered the crab benedict and my Mom enjoyed it thoroughly. I made the mistake of not getting a benedict as it would have been better. We shared salmon benedict last year along with some of their pastries but this year we refrained (reluctantly) from their array of delicious pastries due to sugar. This is a special place that's a nice alternative to the busy Miracle Mile area. They have terrific indoor seating and very nice outdoor seating options, without all the foot traffic. The pastries are showstoppers. Take a look at the pictures I included. However, it doesn't stop there. They have an extensive menu to satisfy every craving--from Guava Pancakes to incredible pasta dishes. Took my husband here for a Father's Day brunch on Saturday. The food was not all that in my opinion. He did not enjoy his crab Benedict. I could not try that due to my allergies. I had the steak sandwich which was decent but not sure what the hype is. If you enjoy a ton of cheese and steak then that would make sense. The cheese was overpowering. I'm not obsessed with cheese so don't want to be biased. I was surprised to see I was charged and extra $10 because I made my fries truffled. I think that was excessive. I was under the impression the sandwich came with a side already and it would be a small charge for some cheese and fake truffle. It was as if I ordered a sandwich alone with an appetizer of fries. That was a rip off. The highlight for us was the rib appetizer as the meat fell off the bone. That was great but my husband said he felt a bitter taste off the sauce. I enjoyed it. This was the best meal that we had on our most recent trip to Miami. We made a reservation for Sunday brunch weeks in advance, and we recommend that you do too because this place is jam-packed and bumpin'. A super umami, peanut-y dressing with plenty of veggies. Ahmmmahhhzzzzzing. The croque madame did deflate us bit because it just wasn't very impressive considering the high standards of everything else here. Like, it was fine, but seemed more like an after thought broiled grilled cheese than an elevated dish. Our daughter got the salmon scramble (don't ask), and if you're into that kind of thing, it's good enough. We also ordered (upon Jose's advice) the guava and cheese pancakes for us all to share. There were layers of guava jam between the pancakes and a guava compote on top, and a sweet cream frosting and maple syrup...so be prepared for your blood sugar to absolutely skyrocket. I had only tried the Doral location and was so happy when my girl friends recommended we go to the Gables location for brunch. It's located in a not so busy part of the gables, so ample parking but you can still walk around and enjoy the neighborhood. We were seated as soon as we arrived, and our server was so kind and patient with us. He recommended some options, and they were able to easily modify my pancakes due to allergies.
