We were greeted at the Reception by Brenda who obviously loves the property as if it were her own. She very proudly and sweetly explains all the details to us. Soon, we too fell in love with Jashita, and I write this very proudly! Jashita Hotel is a very hip, boutique style hotel with great energy felt the moment you pass the giant Buddha in the lobby. We ate our meals on the beach-front terrace overlooking the very serene, quiet, calm, crystal-clear, shallow bay. The servers were A+! They all helped each other- so there was never a lull in our experience. After returning from the diving trip Brenda so graciously arranged, we threw an impossible last minute request at Abigail (the other receptionist). While we drank cocktails in the (Sahara Cafe) lounge, Abigail very sweetly researched and made calls to accommodate our requests. Before I could even finish my drink, she had me on the phone with the tour operator booking my private tour! Who goes through that much trouble!? Everyone took the extra effort to make sure our stay was a great one! "There are no set paths in life" and none to the rooms either! - you just walk through the sand to your fabulous clean, beautiful, comfortable room nestled in the tropical lushness. I hate to broadcast that this place exists because selfishly I'd like to keep it all to myself-- so shhhh! Keep it on the down low--- this place is a hidden paradise! Enjoy. The front desk is staffed 24 hours a day and there are many restaurants and bars that are within a 5 minute walk away. Less than a 5 minute walk away is a bus and train terminal making travel around the city easy. Of course there are always Ubers nearby plus the hotel has a taxi service. Oxxo's are very close too. My room was sufficient in size with an attached bathroom and shower. The room had windows that would open for fresh air if desired and included a wall mount TV. The hotel has central heating and air but my room did not have its own thermostat however I was comfortable during my entire visit. During my stay the front staff and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. Also, I had breakfast in the restaurant and was pleased. My only negative was a very firm bed and to a lesser extent the pillows. Much firmer than I prefer. Other than that, I would return. P.S. the map location on Yelp is currently inaccurate. I have requested a change on Yelp. The actual location is NOT in the southern end of the city.

This hotel is located on the 3rd level of a small shopping facility. Cabs are usually waiting for you downstairs for your convenience. I had a personal driver with me at all times so that was not needed. However, if you are looking to go to a local joint, you might need to hitch a cab ride as there really isn't anything close to it. There is a small mall within 5min and a home depot next to the hotel. The room itself was big enough for any travelers. There was a shower stall which was sufficient enough for me to shower. Some people need bath tub but you might not get lucky if you have the cheapest room. The toilet flushing is always a case in other countries and this seemed to be the one as well. Not too sure why it doesn't flush in one shot but that's just my problem. Safety deposit box is there for your important belongings. Iron board and iron was there as well. They give you 1 bottle of water which is usually not enough for you to be hydrated during the night. The gym was big enough but not much exercise machine in there. If I remember correctly, 3 treatmills, 1 elliptical machine, and 2 bicycle, and free weights. Good enough for me but the elliptical machine was on its way out. Staffs were friendly and tried their best to accommodate you. Be nice and you will get the respect of getting that in return. Morning breakfast was great with fresh fruits and other tasty treats to energize you throughout the day.

We initially booked a suite for 2 nights and the staff was very accommodating, assisting extending our stay. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. It is also in a safe area. We walked to the military hospital in the middle of the night without any issues or safety concerns.

The internet wasn't working and I wasn't able to use my phone app to contact my family in USA. Sigh. The walls were paper thin. The only electricity outlets were in the restroom and extremely far from the mirror. Basically we were only able to get ready in the tiny bathroom that only fits one person. Bedding had stains. Shower drain was clogged and I think we had two towels, one facial and one shower. Thanks Ibis.
