    Bacalao frito

This was recommended by our tour guide. It was absolutely the best food we had in Sevilla. Plenty of food at a fair price and excellent quality. We enjoyed the grilled vegetables, jamón ibérico, solomillo al whiskey and bacalao frito. Also, much quieter setting, but still close to the Cathedral area.

After a nice tour a Seville, we decided to stop in for lunch. It was very busy, but after a while we were able to get a table. The waiters looked busy and appeared to be quite frustrated. After about 5-10 mins I decided to get up and get our menus since no one had been by. One of the older waiters rudely snatched out of my hand the wine menu. When I got up to ask him why, he just said they were out. That just set the tone for the rest of our visit. The same waiter demonstrated a passive- aggressive attitude towards us. I also noticed they were ignoring a table behind us. The food was great, but the older waiter needs an attitude adjustment.

TOURIST TRAP - We had been walking around the Alcazar and wanted a place to just sit for 5 min, have a glass of wine and eat some jamon... nothing else... the spot seemed like and old school GEM with nice seating outside... We sat, ordered Jamon and wine... I ordered the most expensive copo on the menu and they brought me some cat piss... I know my wines... I asked to see the bottle and they could not find it, haha! Then they brought me out the Jamon....I will attach a picture... I didnt like being treated like an idiot and lied to, then overcharged for some shitty food.

We tried Salmojero for the first time, it was weird at first, because we're not used to cold soup, but it grew on us, we liked it. Our server described it right, salmojero is like salad in soup form. The Calabacin was delicious, it was veggies with cheese on top of zucchini (I think). The squid ink spaghetti was good, but it seemed dry for me, I prefer my pasta with lots of sauce. It tasted good though, I just wish they spaghetti was all black noodles instead of mixed. I thought the black and white noodles together was not visually appealing.

You can make a reservation online, so I highly advise that because the restaurant is rather small. Somehow I got lucky enough to snag a table right before the lunch rush. We were famished upon arrival and everything on the menu sounded absolutely amazing. Normally not a fan of fusion, but they incorporated modern twists to classic Spanish tapas seamlessly. We ordered a few tapas to share between two people: KING PRAWN CARPACCIO: an absolute must order. The prawns were fresh, thinly sliced and marinaded well. Paired with the sweet soy sauce reduction, it was absolute *chefs kiss. The arugula added a nice refreshing touch to it too! I'm still drooling over this carpaccio til this very day. BRAISED OXTAIL IN PHYLLO PASTRY: was flavorful, tender and moist. Somehow with all the oxtail stuffed in it, the phyllo pastry managed to stay crispy and crunchy. This whole tapa had an amazing texture to it. The oxtail was so flavorful, you didn't even need the aioli that came with it! SQUID INK PASTA: was plentiful as a tapa, but we saw people around us ordering it as a plate. The garlic flavor really penetrated the pasta and we didn't actually need the pesto on the side. But the pesto sauce was nutty, refreshing and spiced up the dish itself. There was a generous serving of mussels, scallops, shrimps and squid shreds; all which tasted very fresh! GRILLED PLUMA IBERICO: was served on a tender piece of pumpkin puree and microgreens. No spain trip is complete without some iberico pork. The pork was tender and well seasoned. The pumpkin puree with the curry oil also complemented each other very well. I believe the curry oil is a bit unconventional to Spanish tapas, but I thought this really elevated the tapa. MANCHEGO: they served 4 slices with dried raisins/apricots and a jam on the side. I love Manchego, so this was non negotiable for me Must order a sangria or tinto verano to pair with all these tapas. The drinks were well made and very refreshing! We enjoyed our meal so much we made plans to come back later that night. If there's any place you should come to in Sevilla, it's here!

A metal comptoir, a seafood display, and full view into the kitchen action. The kind of place where you want to sit, order vermouth and whatever the chef is excited about that day. The whole menu is a local recipe book. But I'd stick mostly to the entrees and absolutely go for one or two off-menu specials. That's clearly where chef (Cristóbal Rosales) gets to play with whatever the seafood vendor brought in that morning and thought, "hell yeah, I can do magic with that." The tostada de atún de almadraba con mayo de mostaza y trufa was fantastic. The tuna just melts in your mouth and somehow tastes exactly like putting a seashell to your ear and hearing the ocean inside. Soft, delicate, but still punchy. The off-menu fried cabracho were magnificent. we also order the berenjena andalusí with sun-dried tomatoes, pistachios, and feta, plus the lingote de atún al whisky con habitas encebolladas. Overall, a great welcome from Andalucía. 7/10; come for the starters and trust the specials.
