Not great. The 3 stars are mainly for the look of the establishment itself. Trendy and funky, definitely going for a specific vibe. The food, however, just wasn't good. Full disclosure, my wife and I moved here from Southern California so we've been spoiled when it comes to authentic Mexican, and at this point we've basically given up all hope of finding a decent, authentic Mexican restaurant out here. Our Margaritas were mostly mixer. Very weak. I had the enchiladas verdes and my wife had the chicken grande burrito. The only flavor either of us could taste came from the sauce that drowned both entrees, and even the sauce wasn't good. The chicken in each dish was dry and mostly flavorless. This is a beautiful restaurant in a very weird place. The food I've been here twice isn't that great but today I came on a Saturday for lunch for just a little bite to eat so I ordered the sampler plate which was four small items with some beans and queso. It was OK not very seasoned well. They really need to add some spice in their food but oh my God $30 that's ridiculous. They have now lost me forever. read more

My wife and I tried out a new Mexican place in Covington this evening and enjoyed it very much. Casa Tequila has an extensive menu, a welcoming staff, excellent service, vegetarian options, and a full bar, along with a trendy decor that imparts a stylish, somewhat upscale, ambiance. This was our first visit to Casa Tequila and the atmosphere was so cute. I loved how spacious and spread out this place is. The chips and salsa were great! Margaritas - my husband and I ordered the frozen blackberry margarita, and my daughter ordered the lime margarita. We all ordered mediums. The medium is comparable to a small at other Mexican restaurants. The taste was good, but my daughter said the lime was way too tart and could barely finish it. So the margaritas overall were just ok. The food was decent, nothing outstanding, and if I'm being honest, a little bland. I had the enchiladas Don Juan which had 2 chicken and 2 steak, very generous portions! They were good overall. I know this restaurant is new so we may give them another chance and try different items from the menu. read more

As some reviews have pointed out, the decor is exceptional. In fact it looked more like a night club than a Mexican restaurant. We got seated immediately and it was Father's day so the place was packed. They brought a small basket of chips which disappeared quickly with 3 people. It took about 10 minutes to get more. It took 20 minutes to get served which I will not dwell on since the place was full. I got a Chimichanga with "steak " but it was in a word, terrible. Refried beans were like soup. Salad had a spoonful of sour cream and guacamole. One other person got shrimp and the third a pineapple Fajita. We got no alcoholic drinks and the check was about $80. I cannot comment on things I didn't order but i will not be going back. BTW I make a few Mexican dishes at home and mine are much better. Ok, so ambiance is cool. We walked in at 2:10. Ordered a sweet tea and Diet Coke.. Put food order in 2-ala carte tacos because there is no taco plate. Offered to order rice and beans ala carte. Ordered chicken fajita fries as entree rather than appetizer at 2:18. 2:30 waitress offered cheese dip on her for the wait. No one comes to the table for 50 minutes. Not to check in. No refills. 100% active avoidance. Lunch guest tells host we just want the check so we can leave. Food appears 3 minute later miraculously. Taco meat had a hint of salt. That's is all. Taco Bell across the street would have been more appetizing and satisfying. $4.00 each, rip off. The fries were interesting but an absolute mess. Not great but ok. Waitress finally checks in after we receive our food and we request a box and the bill at 3:28. Ran card at 3:32. Left a personal note on the back of merchant copy of receipt expressing the absolute disregard for quest service and overall experience. It's a shame because the place looks really nice. It's a paper dragon. Looks good but ultimately hollow. 1-star only because 0 is not an option. read more

Colorful dust collectors disguised as silk flowers fill the dining room. The restaurant was pretty full so imagine my surprise that the chips were very stale. What's wrong with people they did not notice that? The beans I got were ice cold. So disappointed bc I love me some creamy refried beans. We went with friends today, January 4, 2026. Immediately seated in a booth. They were very busy at 12:15, but had great service and food was delicious! Anthony was very helpful in deciding what to order; was knowledgeable about the dishes and was very happy to get us refills of our drinks, bring us fresh chips and salsa. Prices were reasonable and portions sizes were very good; we all brought home some of our entrees. Love the decor, wasn't noisy considering the number the people in the restaurant. Called ahead for a table of 15 , they gave our table way first , didn't give us any menus and we had to ask multiple times to even get one , every time something was brought to the table it was placed right in front of my 13 month old and was slammed on the table like it was inconvenient that we were there , spent two hours waiting on food once we finished it took 45 mins for our check which was right the first time our server brought it to us but once we paid I was charged 2x more and the checks were wrong . Over all it's a very cute place and good drinks but service is absolutely horrendous this was our first and last time we will be dining here.
