I wasn't in a spa day mood, but I extended the time once the massage started. For good reasons! I was in heaven. Agustin rubbed every knot out of my body. After the body massage, I got my feet washed before getting the fish pedicure, which I didn't necessarily care for but decided to do once he told me how it worked. I flew to Cancun from NYC and scheduled an appointment for CO2 laser treatment using the Sonolife 2200 machine in five different areas: my face, neck, both hands and chest. The clinic arranged for their driver, Christian to pick me up from my hotel in the Cancun Hotel Zone on a Saturday afternoon. Christian was very friendly and his car was new and spotless. The clinic is conveniently located about 15 minutes from the Hotel Zone. When I arrived, I was greeted warmly by the receptionist, Liz. She asked me to apply hand sanitizer and invited me to relax in the waiting lounge area. Evette, the doctor's assistant then brought me into a treatment room where she carefully applied numbing anesthesia cream to all five areas. After about 45 minutes, my skin was fully numb and ready for the procedure. Evette then escorted me to meet Dr. Isabella. She was extremely professional and friendly. She thoroughly explained the CO2 procedure and suggested adding exosomes at an additional cost to help speed up recovery and reduce pain and swelling. I'm so grateful she recommended this, it was absolutely worth it. Dr. Isabella performed the procedure herself and it lasted approximately 4-5 hours. Throughout the entire process, she was gentle, meticulous and very professional. She also has a warm and kind demeanor, which made me feel comfortable and at ease. After the procedure, I settled my bill with Liz, who was lovely and she gave me a small goodie bag with gifts. Christian drove me safely back to my hotel. Dr. Isabella's team followed up with me that evening and again the next day to make sure I was following post-procedure care instructions and recovering well. From the time you walk in, your person stays with you to the end and see through your spa experience. We had Abraham as our guide and were there for hydrotherapy, which I have never done. We first were directed to some of the most luxurious locker rooms I've seen and change out into their provided bathrobes and slippers. We then walked down this beautiful walkway into the hydrotherapy area. We began our experience with the sauna, which included cucumbers on eyes with a cooling rag on your head. Then came a shower. They give you 4 options, all are private showers with closing doors. I chose the one with the cold water bucket (it's literally a bucket that you stand under and pull a chain). Then came the steam room for a little over 5 minutes, followed y the cold plunge! After that freezing experience comes the massage pool, where you sit in warm water and have water jets massage you lower back. Finally came the big pool. The pool itself is pretty huge in size and has a waterfall spout you can stand under, water jets massage platforms in the pool, and water jets for your lower bag. My personal favorite was the two spouts that are shooting out water at a higher pressure as this really helped massage my neck, shoulders, and chest. Overall, I give this experience a 11/10. I definitely recommend the hydrotherapy spa experience if you're staying in Hyatt Ziva Cancun.
