What a dream. This is one of the oldest breweries in the city. They feature four types of beer. I ordered the flight sampler. I also ordered the beef brisket. It had the best sauce thus far during my Australian trip. What makes this place magical is the garden. This is a heritage spot overlooking my Wellington. It's also adjacent to the rivulet walking trail. So a nice combination is walking from Central on the trail. And stop at the brewery at the end. There is also a. Went for a nice Saturday afternoon to the bar/cafe bit. Nicely remodelled during the Covid lockdown- a nice cozy fire, extra bar area, safely spaced out tables. A little confusing figuring out where to order- before the remodel you ordered from a counter near the door, now you order everything from the bar across the room. Offered a coffee, which was nicely made. Didn't catch the brand of beans, but the coffee was not too milky, good temperature and served in the correct glass. I'd definitely have a coffee there again. read more

We went on a tour of the cascade brewery and it was one of the most memorable parts of our trip to Hobart! Sam, our tour guide was funny, witty and full of information about the brewery and the area. He gave us so much information about the brewery in an easygoing fashion during the tour. After the tour, you are given 4 Beer tokens and left with all the cascade beer and wine options!! We had a blast trying all the different beers and taking part in the daily "beer pulling competition". My husband and I both sucked at beer pulling but we had an amazing time trying to win the big prize of a certificate and beer champion name. We tried out their restaurant as well before the tour. The food was ok, not mind blowing but the scones after the tour that we enjoyed with our beer were worth raving about! Perfectly sweet with the jam and cream that was provided. Cascade Brewery is definitely worth a trip if you are in Hobart! read more

I was in Hobbart on vacation from Miami and it truly is a beautiful place. We took a historical tour from the harbor up to the hills where Cascade is located. We took a detailed brewery tour that detailed all of the equipment and all of the processes that go into producing the different types of beer that they make. After the tour ended, we had a tasting of a few of their brews. A great experience overall. I would suggest anyone to visit Cascade Brewery and take a tour as well as tasting. read more

I've never been to a brewery with such a beautiful setting. Just looking at this old building with the mountain as the backdrop is just amazing. Let along the nice well kept grounds, which anyone can walk or just hang out in. If you've done brewery tours in the past, then this tour is nothing different. However the price is worth the tour if you plan on trying an assortment of their beers. For the cost of the tour you get 4 tokens which gets you a full glass of whatever they have on tap for that day as well as a discount for dining there.....well worth the price. What's also great is they have a full menu with good prepared food. If you're around the area, Cascade Brewery is a must!!! Even if you're not into beer go for the amazing the views the brewery gives you Tip: - if you go on a Wednesday, around 3pm they have a fun game that you should enjoy! read more

This is hands down the best tour I have done. Our guide was amazing. Informative and funny. The old buildings are great. As are the stories about its past. After the tour enjoy your complimentary drinks in the new and beautiful restaurant and bar. Outside the bar is some stunning gardens to stroll around. And all this at the foot of mount Wellington. It was an adventure getting out to cascade brewery. We were able to catch a bus ride that stopped right at the front door. We lucked out in arriving at 12:30 PM when a tour was just beginning. The ride out to the brewery is beautiful. The tour seemed a bit pricey at $25 per person, but it did include tastings of three drinks and a discount on their food. We enjoyed our tour guide. Probably the most impressive thing about the tour was the enthusiasm of the tour guide in regard to his Tasmanian homeland and the quality of Cascade beer products. The food at the restaurant was fabulous. One factor could be that we were starving by the time we ate lunch. We had fish and chips as well as salt and pepper squid, both of which were delicious. Even though beer is not really our favorite beverage, this was a fun adventure. Cider was especially good. My favorite beer was the First Harvest. read more

I have done this tour 6 years ago, and I remember it being cheaper and more interesting. It was $25/hour, which would be better spent on a few pints while sitting in the garden enjoying the view! Our tour guide Alex was very knowledgable and witty. It was the hottest day. I don't recommend the tour when it is that hot, as the kettles and boilers add about 10 degrees on top of what ever temp it is upside. They no longer let you enjoy a beer pre-tour (obviously a health and safety issue), and I found that particularly lame. I am not going to get blind on a tiny sample. We had an antipasto platter after the tour, and it was nice. The beers of course were delish, straight from the source, although as I mentioned, save your $25 and just head out there for lunch and beers. read more

I cannot comment about the tour, because my husband and I arrived at the restaurant after visiting the Female Factory historic site and were simply hungry and footsore after a lot of walking. Poor organization is probably the biggest flaw if you come to eat. We were not seated at a table, but asked to order and pay at the counter/ entry. After being given a number, we were left to troll for a table, but there were none! I've never paid for a meal at a restaurant without having a place to sit down! The staff were rushing around, but I wouldn't say there was any more service required than taking our money. We lucked out just before our food arrived by lurking like vultures as a trio left their table. My husband's fish & chips were okay - not worth $23! My soup and salad were boring. The beer isn't even that good! A large tour group streamed in, making any further requests a frustration, so we left. Dissatisfied and ripped off. read more

Great place, good beer friendly service. We sat outside on the grass grazed on chips and a burger and drank beers all afternoon.
