Extremely unfriendly doctor. Worst bedsidemanner ever. Staff was friendly. I was scheduled for cataract surgery, but today, after the way the doctor treated me, I chose not to see him again. Call before you visit- several times I've arrived to find a sign taped to the door, "We are closed, we apologize for any inconvenience" etc.

Word to the wise: Take a picture with you cell of your glasses the moment you hand them over, in the hands of the person that cleans them, or you'll lose out hard. Cascade Eye Center destroyed my Ray Ban frames and blamed me. I've been a loyal customer at Cascade Eye Center for over a decade. I ordered my last pair of glasses with insurance in August 2020. Due to COVID-19 delays in shipping, it took about 6 weeks for them to arrive. I finally got them, and was handed warranty paperwork at that time. The glasses ended up making me nauseous due to a new coating on the lenses I was trying. I took them back on the 3rd day of having them and asked them to reorder new lenses with my normal anti-glare coat. I asked if they wanted the glasses to fit the new lenses because I can't wear them. No, they didn't want them. Weeks went by I called. "Be patient, COVID is making things slow." I called for months. "Be patient, it's COVID," they'd say. I gave up after several months of calling and came in person to check. Only then was told they'd just never placed the order for my lenses in the first place. The optical manager informed me that I should have called them more. I should have been checking in more frequently, and it was my fault-- I was now out of the warranty period for replacement. But, *graciously* she said, she would void my warranty and reorder the lenses. So, they screwed up and graciously took my warranty away. I gave up and said fine. I asked again if they wanted my frames to fit the lenses. They didn't. After several weeks, the lenses came in, and they didn't fit the frames at all. Finally, they asked for the frames I'd repeatedly offered, and got my new glasses to me yesterday.  Not only did it take them until mid-April of 2021 to get them right, but they were handed to me brand new, voided warranty and all, because remember: The customer is supposed to parent the optical department to do their job beyond regularly checking in. Now, when I arrived, I was so excited to be done, I asked them to clean my classics. I love this pair of Ray Bans I bought from Cascade Eye 3 years ago, I take remarkable care of them. I mentioned this to the woman who was to clean them, telling her, "They are my favorite, please be careful." She came back with them and had completely removed the shine/finish from the frames. they looked like someone doused them in nail polish. "What happened to my glasses?!" I asked alarmed. "What do you mean?" she replied. I said, "You took off the finish of my glasses, entirely." She rushed back and I could hear her talking to someone else. "Oh my god, what do I do? I cleaned them and it came off, all of it." to which the person in the back replied, "Just tell her that happens sometimes." I watched the woman try again to wipe the frames. She then came out and gave me a bottle of glasses cleaner and told me, "Maybe something got on there while I was cleaning them? Here, you can try to fix them with this." I said, "The finish is gone. Cleaning them won't change that. I have a client shortly, and I have to go, but I really don't think cleaning is going to work." I took my glasses home. I called Cascade Eye Center today and spoke with The Dalles office manager. She essentially let me know that I was lying, that my glasses were three years old, and that they had no way of knowing I didn't just bring in totally destroyed glasses in the first place. After hearing my frustration, she quipped, "Well, I think they do a great job in Optical." Like, really? Y'all destroyed my glasses and called me a liar, then you've got snark at the top of the chain? I asked for a call back from the administrator. She said, "You're not my first tantrum," and I should pay for the frame replacement with their gracious 20% discount. So, more money to them for screwing up? This is by far the worst local customer service I have ever had, and I've been in the Gorge 20+ years. Not the least bit happy with this place. Exam was super rushed. Fine, whatever, my eyes haven't changed in many years. However, the staff is less than pleasant, if not rude. Their billing is absolutely horrible. I've been to TD location twice now. There will not be a third. read more

I came in for eye exam for glasses and contacts, I took my Rx and went online to order glasses through zenni, because their prices were so good. When I got my glasses, I still couldnt see very well, I returned to cascade eye center and they rechecked my vision, I recieved a different Rx, the first Rx was wrong, I asked about fixing the matter of now having to purchase glasses again and how cascade op ctr should make things right, they didnt take any responsibility for the error and thought zenni should make things right, zenni only filled the Rx exactly as written.(Although zenni volunteered to replace my glasses with new Rx.)So I recieved a 2nd pair(Actually 3rd and 4th, because I ordered 2 the first time) So two more pairs of glasses, and the Rx is wrong again. Im not even mentioning the 6 prs of wrong contacts. Now I have 4 pairs of glasses and 12 contacts that I cant see out of and I have to come up with $150 +$for glasses/contacts again (Somewhere else) Im very dissapointed that they didnt feel any responsibility in the matter, ive been a customer for 10+ yrs shame on you.. Update, since I never was able to use the contact lenses prescription,and the 6 boxes of contacts were unusable, I inquire about a reduced price on an exam,I received a firm no,so I was never compensated for the wrong script or contacts, and they expect me to pay full price for another exam. How selfish!!! These people are only open till 1700hr each day. Last time I checked most all of America is at work durning these hours. Being that this is the only eye doctor in 20 plus miles you would think that they would not punish their patrons by having to take time out of their work day to get some eye care. Ordered contacts on their online portal. Never received them. Emailed their contact on the site, twice, to inquire about my shipment. No response. Called to check the status and was told the order was canceled because my prescription expired and I needed an eye exam. So I told the lady I'd like to schedule that. 3 weeks from now they have an opening. Two weeks ago they could have had the courtesy to call me and tell me what was going on. I would have contacts by now. Now im 3 weeks from an exam, 2 weeks from them being shipped, doesn't do me a lot of good. I've considered going elsewhere in the past because the optical staff has always been rude. Not the doctors or the optical assistants, but the contact and glasses staff. I've put up with it because the docs and assistants are friendly. But it's time to find a place that isn't like this and that communicates with their patients. Ridiculous. read more

I just got brand new insurance so I was calling around to see where I could get an eye exam, and I called this facility and the receptionist was very rude, talked down to me because maybe I have OHP. I mentioned I was pregnant and then all of a sudden her tone surprisingly change. I kindly said well I'm going to call around, because this phone call was very friendly. Don't get glasses or contacts here. The service is poor. If there is a mistake made they do not admit to it. They make it impossible to speak to your doctor. The staff is rude, will hang up on you if they don't want to hear what you are saying. Also always put you on a long hold and they say that whoever you want to reach is "in a meeting", "in surgery", or unable to come to the phone. They DO NOT help you problem solve but blame you for any mistake they make. The most expensive glasses prices that I've seen...very poor selection of "frames" with their "value package". Doctors are fine. Optical service and communication with doctors...well I wouldn't even give them one star. read more

My past experience with group was just okay. Recently, I ordered contacts for my daughter who was going off to college.... 3 weeks go by, I called to find out where they were. I was told they cancelled the order because her prescription was expired. Okay why not call and tell us? so takes a week to get in for an eye appointment- she leaves for college with two contact samples. I order her contacts again later that day, pay for priority delivery. Two and half weeks later I call, "Where are the contacts" oh you must have ordered them on a Friday and the order timed out over the weekend. I feel duped! someone dropped the ball and didn't have the courtesy to call and tell us they were late filing the order. I will not do business with this group again. read more

Had eye exam, bought prescription glasses but prescription wasn't quite right. Called Cascade Eye Center, they made me an appointment to get re-checked. They said the glasses were under warranty and there would be no charge. They re-checked my eyes, changed my prescription and charged me and my insurance using "DRY EYES" as the diagnosis. How can "DRY EYES" cause a difference in the prescription of someones glasses? and if so then you wouldn't change the prescription would you? you would just treat the "DRY EYES". Will not use them or recommend them to anyone. read more
