I am suffering from chronic pain that gets so severe there are times I cannot get out of bed I had an appointment that I rescheduled do to accidentally making the same day I had another appointment on the new date I was in so much pain I was not physically able to make the 2 1/2 hour drive. Less than 24 hours before my appointment I was contacted by Columbia and told that they were refusing to see me because I canceled on the day of my appointment I explained the reason but received no compassion or understanding just a notification that they were refusing to treat me. read more

It is almost impossible to get through to these people - for office or setting appointments I give them one star - for the pain management six stars. Dr. Russo and everyone else is great - very professional and do help. Trying to call and set up an appointment is extremely stressful. I know people who drive over there to set up appointments because you absolutely cannot get through on the phone. Right now, over the last two weeks I have called and waited on hold for 10 minutes to be told to leave a message - then no-one returns the message - I have done that three times. This is typical and I dread having to get through to them - the actual appointment and treatment is fine and easy. read more

I have chronic back pain and have decided against further surgeries and now the question is can Columbia help me find a relief from the pain. Insurance requires a variety of steps to go through and I have chosen Columbia to work with. I tried another doctor first with no success and giving it one more shot. My brother is an anesthesiologist in Virginia and also practices pain management, and sometimes the difference in success is not just the procedure, but the doctor doing it. We are now in step 1, with Dr. Soon, and she and the staff have been wonderful. The first test shots went like a breeze and was done with care and professionalism. I am SO Happy to FINALLY be heard!!! I have a rare condition that has caused me a considerable amount of pain. I called in desperation, last ditch effort to possibly find a doctor that might be willing to work the problem. It took a referral and a little bit of a wait, but it has be worth it! The staff has been a HUGE help! The doctors are exactly what I needed and they have dug in and are actually doing the foot work to find a solution!! Their effort alone is much appreciated. I highly recommend Dr. Russo's practice for your pain management needs. I went in for a trigger point injection in my neck/shoulder area due to chronic pain from working on a computer daily and playing tennis. I felt immediate relief and am thrilled with the outcome. What stood out most of all from the appointment is how kind the office staff was and how I didn't have to wait at all once I checked in. I can only base my review on my visit with Dr. Khemlani but I'm giving him 5 Stars. He came highly recommended by my PCP and I have to agree. I've been dealing with back issues and Dr Khemlani was able to explain what was going on, he prescribed treatment and administered the proper injection plus a recommendation for future self-care. The folks at CPM are very thorough and thoughtful as they help navigate you through what can be some pretty scary procedures. My only complaint is they kind of keep you in the dark a bit when it comes to explaining the next step(s). I was DEAD wrong about this place! Everything was great for a year plus... but Dr. Khemlani (who I really thought was a great guy) just "disappeared" as my physician. Instead, the appointments which I had booked with him, were with other members of his "team". Dr. Russo -- was/is an amazing physician; so no problems there. However, it's the female "physicians" -- in particular, Amanda Osborne -- who, like practically every other young woman in a position of power, felt the need to exert her control by treating me like sh** on the bottom of her shoe. She wouldn't even look me in the eyes. Everything I said was met with a "uh huh" and the occasional head tilt, all the while, she would stare at her computer and go off of old notes and previous issues/complaints. In other words, she could have cared less about me as a patient; even though I had never done anything but be nice and as compliant as possible. After a few months, I was told that I was a candidate for a spinal cord stimulator and was given instructions on how everything would go. Yet, month after month passed with no progress. When I would come into the clinic and attempt to engage in (ask about) the procedure, I would get the deer in the headlights look. No one knew what the hell was going on. They simply thought that I was only there to get pain meds; the one thing that I was NOT wanting. Worst of all, when I began to question why things weren't adding up -- well, that's when everything went to hell. In return, I was subjected to continual UA's (despite zero problems) and treated like a problematic patient with a drug problem. I put up with that for two months before one day while seeing Amanda, I straight up asked her why it was that she had such a problem with me. This caught her off guard, and she asked if I'd like to speak to someone else; to which, I firmly agreed. After she stepped out, well in comes the invisible man: Dr. Khemlani. And this time, he wasn't as nice. Fortunately, I had recorded what was said between Amanda and I and asked if I could play it -- as I knew he had been given inaccurate information. Of course, he declined. However, he stated, he'd see what he could do to aid in the miscommunication issue I was having with Amanda. A few days later he called me up and told me that I should look into surgery and that he'd help me get everything going all the while, assuring me that he would not just leave me hanging without my pain medication (as of course, I had developed a dependence upon it). Well, he was full of sh**, because about a week or so later -- or, as soon as he knew I was going ahead with the surgery, I received a letter stating that I was no longer welcome at the clinic and that he'd given me a 28-day supply of my medication. 28 days! There's no way in hell that anyone could find a doctor who is licensed to prescribe buprenorphine in less than a month. Needless to say, I had the surgery. As for the pain meds, well -- I decided to just wean myself off of them over the next few months by taking 25% less every 2 weeks. Eventually, I just threw away 16mg that remained and went into withdrawal for much longer than I had anticipated (2.5 weeks). Fortunately, I'm off them now and feel great. NONETHELESS, WHAT I WENT THROUGH SIMPLY BECAUSE I HAD ASKED NOT TO BE TREATED LIKE DIRT -- FROM A CLINIC THAT I HAD BEEN AN IDEAL PATIENT AT FOR YEARS, WAS SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNETHICAL THAT ITS SAD. This place (and Amanda Osborne) is/are TRASH. Avoid at all cost! read more

I saw Dr Khemlani to continue treatment for chronic neck and SI pain I had begun with another doctor. Unfortunately, my prior doctor left the state and I had to find a new doctor. Dr Khemlani came highly recommended by my old doctor as well as my primary care physician, both of whom I respect immensely. Dr Khemlani was friendly, listened to my concerns, answered all of my questions and was quite informative about my treatment options. He exceeded my expectations and I am so happy I decided to give him a try. I know I am in good hands here. Sometimes the front desk gets overwhelmed with phone calls due to a shortage due to COVID 19 but they always call you back. If you are looking for a great pain management doctor, please give this office a try. Chronic pain can sometimes be a long arduous journey to find a great doctor but not for me. Since July, I have been dealing with a what I thought was a shoulder re-injury in yoga. I decided to work on PT that I had been prescribed from years before for the same "injury." I also sought help with regular massage and acupuncture. After some time, the acupuncturist suggested the injury may be in my neck, and I should see a doctor. I was hesitant to contact a specialist but had been down the road of checking the boxes my GP would have prescribed (assumption). I'm so grateful to Dr. Russo and his staff at Columbia Pain Management. I was given the white glove treatment from my initial phone call. His staff walked me through necessary paperwork and scheduling an appointment. Dr. Russo immediately suspected a neck injury and the specific discs that were involved due to where pain was radiating. After a MRI confirmed exactly the location and degree of the problem (Dr. Russo was 100% correct), I was able to schedule a cervical epidural steroid injection. Dr. Russo is conscientious of how hectic holiday time is, and inconsistencies with schedules, that he made sure to adjust HIS schedule to get me in for the procedure before my kids were on holiday break. Grateful that this resource is in Hood River (other locations too)! And thankful for the wonderful treatment received from every employee at the clinic. read more

So when you go to a pain clinic you would think handicap parking would be close to the door. Its not its far away in between other offices. Strange that it's next to a school. Today is my first appointment and so far its been a long wait in pain waiting for Sergey and don't even get to get help with pain because get screened first after traveling 200 miles one way. This change with laws on opiates is crazy my 3 dr's think and agree I need pain medication. But tis is way it has to be done. Just not impressed at all. When you call you get a voicemail that is very slow talking and can't talk to anyone. Even knowing my back issues they still don't have any consideration on travel appointment in morning before noon and knowing im 200 miles away. Or reschedule another month and half later read more

You'd think that a pain clinic would do their best to treat your pain in a timely manner. I was referred here because of nerve damage during a hernia surgery. They did some tests and determined that the best treatment for me would be a DRG stimulator. I've been waiting 4 months. "Should be any day now" I was told two months ago. Forget about getting an actual doctor on the phone. Luckily, I have found that acupuncture addresses my pain adequately, otherwise I'm not sure how I would have dealt with it all this time. Laura is a very caring and understanding provider who takes time to get to know her patients personally and gets to the root of their pain condition. She works with you on different treatments for pain and does not throw medications at it like some providers. I have been seen by Dr Khemlani. H explained the problems that could be causing my lower back problems in a very descriptive, easy to understand way and recommended we proceed with a caudal epidural injection. On the day of the procedure, the staff was well organized, professional and pleasant. Dr Khemlani came to greet me and explained the procedure. The assistant in the procedure room was very helpful and professional in preparing me and the equipment before letting Dr Khemlani know that we were all set up. As with other top-notch professionals, Dr Khemlani worked efficiently and completed the injection quickly while making sure that I was relaxed. He also treated me for another pain I had been experiencing but which was not scheduled. I cannot recommend Dr Khemlani or the Clinic highly enough. read more

I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. Although Dr. Soll and Laura Scobie seem to be good doctors they really don't seem to have the time to give the attention needed to a patient. The same for Dr. Russo. I saw him once. Holly Agnor is a very rude practitioner that treats her patients with disrespect. She didn't know any of my medical history even though she held 3 years of their own records right in her hands. After I told her that she was a rude individual that asked me a question at my previous appointment - she interrupted me and then began judging me. After I told her this she did listen, but it was with an attitude of how a teenager might sit and listen and let things run out the other ear as they rolled their eyes at you. After telling this woman that I had not been on my bipolar disorder meds because of my husband losing his job and we had not insurance for several months, she sent me home upset and without this medication. I came home severely depressed and so upset that my stomach was even hurting worse - due to stomach ulcers. To make a long story short. . . whoever fills out my medical information either didn't do their job properly and left out some of my medications or Ms. Agnor wasn't being truthful to cover up not looking at my medical files. This clinic on many times has shown me that they are not real concerned with the well being of their patients - other than Dr. Soll and Laura Scobie. Even Ms. Scobie can be a bit uncaring at times. At least she listened to me when I told her that I had a problem with how I was treated by her on my first visit with her. If you don't care about professional service then by all means use this clinic, but if you believe that a doctor and those working at a medical facility should treat a patient with respect and care about giving that patient their best medical attention then I would find another clinic because you won't find that treatment here. read more

I have had Dr. Rigert do Regenexx stem cell treatment on both of my knees and one shoulder. I was so impressed by his caring and professional manner, including all of his staff, the first time I had this done, that I again drove 7+ hours from my home area to make use of his clinic. I was very impressed with how much before hand information gathering and feedback his office staff did prior to my arrival and appointment time. I was also told ahead of time what my costs would be and there was NO additions or after procedure billings! I was able to do all the necessary before visit paperwork by way of email and type-able PDF files so that when it came to the time of my actual visit, I was able to check in and go right into my first appointment without delay. When was the last time, if ever, that any of us arrived on time for an appointment and were within a minute of few directed into treatment room where staff was waiting and ready to go?!? That is the happy surprise I have consistently had at this clinic. I can't speak to this clinic's pain management treatment, but I will share that my own pain management was of concern as I was treated. Happily I am not in chronic pain, but I was provided prescriptions for my after treatment pain - if any. One of those medications was not usable (body would vomit it) and the staff immediately switched it to one that my body would accept. Overall, I would again drive the distance to make use of this clinic for my stem cell treatments and would highly recommend it too. read more

Dr. Smith at Columbia Pain Management is a caring and patient physician. My first appointment was great, she spent nearly two and a half hours with me going over my very complicated medical history and what options are available to me. One thing I really love about her specifically is she doesn't just throw pain medicine at it to mask your pain. She also had ideas about a Neurostimulator, which no pain doctor had ever even mentioned being an option before. Without going into personal medical information, I will just say I have 3 chronic pain situations going on and she is the first to mention alternatives medicine. She also makes it easy to discuss pain medicine, should that be an option, without making you feel lile a drug addict. With all the new regulations in the USA, almost anywhere you go will say, "We dont hand out narcotics!" even when you didn't ask for them, which is another reason I've chosen this specific office to manage my chronic pain issues. Just to let people know, this office takes opiate medicine very seriously, which I love. They do pill counts at every appointment, as well as UAs, which helps medicine diversion! As chronic pain patients, this is a situation near and dear to our hearts because the longer people sell or divert their medications, the more people die, the more laws and regulations and hoops placed upon legitimate patients. They are a little more expensive than most but the care is definitely worth it. While I've only been seen 3 times thus far, everyone in the office(s) I've visited have been kind and accommodating to my disability and helpful in ways other offices have lacked. I have had continuous excellent encounters with both Dr. Blatt, his staff and their PA, Laura. I had to return to PM after my PCP left her practice. I came back to CPM and had a very frank and encouraging conversation with Laura about the stigma surrounding pain management, even for patients with chronic issues (like my LBP which will not go away). She is compassionate; understanding and so helpful. People think of pain management as just drugs, but at CPM they treat the WHOLE patient, have rigorous standards and make you feel safe. Hate that I need to see them, but so grateful for the staff. read more

This is the worst clinic I have ever been to. They treated me like a criminal. I have had had 4 spinal surgeries and a spinal cord injury. Cindy the FNP said my pain and insomnia was from the medication I was on. She also said she couldn't wrap her head around my case and had to bring the Dr. In. Machelle Dotson is truly the most uncaring and worst provider I have ever seen. When I explained I had steroid injections in my knee (not even something she was treating me for), she stated "steroids are like acid to your cartilage, they only make everything worse" then she suggested I try steroid injections for my back (no cartilage there, but still if it's so awful, why would you use it regardless of treatment site?!). When I asked about physical therapy for my pain she literally told me to go on YouTube and search for exercises that would help me, really, on YOUTUBE!!! You're a nurse practitioner for gosh sake, try using some professionalism! They treat patient's like criminals, even when you try to explain what your situation is. They only give their patient's one option for treatment and if you don't like it or agree with their diagnosis, then according to them, you're screwed. They will not work with you, they condescend to you. Honestly, I could have been treated by them and would probably be in less pain at this point, but I would literally rather be in pain than have to deal with their horrific version of medical care. Not only can I not recommend this office, I would caution anyone I know to avoid this practice like the plague. read more
