During the day, the atmosphere has felt family‑friendly, but at night the local crowd has felt aligned with an alt‑right vibe, and the bartender's style struck me as a kind of cosplay‑MMA persona. To me, that combination comes off as obnoxious and made me feel uneasy. I personally worry that some people there might not be above things like vandalism, theft, or even violence -- that's just my perception based on how the atmosphere felt to me. I'm not claiming anyone there committed those acts; the only documented issues from that night were my stolen keys and slashed bike tires, which I reported to police. I think this place is fine for monthly theme parties, and it feels family‑friendly during the day. Our family was very grateful to have such accommodating hosts in such a beautiful, romantic setting. Their prices are the best around, and easy on the budget as opposed to other venues. Met with several people. Shook a lot of hands. Looked at some things. One guy had a map. By about 6pm I had done basically everything a businessman can legally do in one day so I decided to get dinner. Went to TMACS. Sat at the bar because I was by myself and sitting at a table by yourself makes it look like someone is coming. Nobody was coming. The lady gave me the menu. I told her I wasnt very hungry. She recommended the octopus. I said lets do it. I have always respected the octopus because it has 8 arms and still doesnt have a job. Octopus came out. Very good. Charred on the outside. Tender inside. Had some sauce and other things around it. I ate all of those too. At this point I was no longer hungry which had been the original goal. Then she asked what I wanted for dinner. This caught me off guard because I thought the octopus had counted. She recommended the bolognese. I said lets do that too. This is one thing I like about restaurants. You can just keep ordering. Bolognese came out and immediately became a serious situation. Big wide pasta. Rich meat sauce. Parmesan. Everything stuck to everything correctly. I dont know who invented bolognese but they understood that sometimes spaghetti needs more stuff on it. Very good. Halfway through dinner a glass broke. Everybody heard it. For about 2 seconds the entire restaurant became about the glass. Then it wasnt anymore. Incredible recovery. At this point I had eaten octopus, cow and goat in about 90 minutes. Basically toured the farm. Then I learned the restaurant was originally T. Maccarone's because the founder's actual last name is Maccarone. This guy was born with the last name Maccarone and opened a restaurant with pasta. Sometimes life tells you what to do. If his last name had been Hamburger this could have been a completely different place. Eventually they changed the name to TMACS which is much faster to say. Smart. I paid the bill. Everyone said goodbye. I walked back to my hotel extremely full even though I had entered the restaurant not hungry. That is a 100% increase in hunger elimination. We stumbled upon this place while walking to another spot, and instantly had a place that we were excited about going every time we come into town! It was open by a gentleman who felt like the area could use a specialty butcher that carried a little bit nicer cuts of meat, slightly larger variety and had a cool vibe. He accomplished all three! They carry all the standard beef, chicken and pork, but also do some more specialty meats like rabbit and specialty sausages. We also loved the fact that they carry some good cheeses, including a really nice aged Gouda! My best half loves her some aged Gouda, so anytime we find something good we make note of it. The Decour here is slightly eclectic, but still familiar. They've also got some really cool custom doors that lead back into The back and windows that allow you to see where all the action is taking place. Never anything gruesome, but it's nice to see where the meat is actually being cut and prepared. In addition to the delicious non-vegetarian options, they carry some different varieties of crackers, some legit Marcona almonds and straight from the farm eggs. Prices were very fair, and the service was impeccable. This is a place that I hope starts to make T-shirts as I will definitely be excited to support all that they're doing.
