I had previously boarded at a veterinary clinic, and this was much less stressful for both me and the cat.

While I was there, I noticed a little pug and asked about her. They told me she wasn't available for adoption. I could see why -- her butt was prolapsed and there was liquid poop and blood all over her kennel. She was panting, whining, and frantically trying to get out. It was really upsetting to see. I spoke with the manager, who told me not to worry, that they had it under control and the dog was fine. I left feeling terrible. I came back a few days later and the poor pug was still in the same condition -- prolapse, bloody diarrhea, the whole thing. She still looked miserable. I'm really concerned that they don't have the animals' best interest at heart. A prolapsed rectum is painful, and there was clearly blood coming from her. I just don't understand how a person could look at that and think it's okay to leave her like that. This experience has me seriously questioning the level of care the animals are getting. I wanted to support the shelter, but I left feeling heartbroken and worried. I'm still looking to adopt a dog, but after this experience I don't feel confident adopting from here.

I tried again two days later, same experience happened. Finally a day later they told me the cat I chose was already gone and told me to just make an appointment whenever I see a new cat arrives. I did but then the lady said I can't make an appointment because the cat just came in, need 72 hours. She can't guarantee I would get the cat though. I don't want to waste more time, I went to a different shelter where people know how to run the business. I got the cat!

When I explained why I didn't want the puppy, she became irate and told me I was a horrible person, etc. She refunded only half my money. I feel like the victim of false advertising--the puppy was nothing like the rambunctious puppies in the video, and I was not informed of that before I put down the deposit. I cannot recommend this breeder.

It is never an easy decision in selecting a trainer, especially someone who will care for your new puppy in her home for 30 days. I am in the Bay Area and the breeder for my puppy was in Arlington Washington. The breeder mentioned Maggie and that she heard great things about her. We thoroughly checked out Maggie and made the decision to utilize her services before we even met our new puppy. Henri went from the breeder to Maggie's arms. This was the best decision my family has ever made. Not only was Maggie professional, but she has such a caring nature the moment you speak to her. She made us feel at ease day 1! We received constant communication, videos and pictures of our sweet Henri and his training progress. Maggie was able to add in her caring touch so that Henri quickly felt comfortable and at home with her. Henri's progress was impressive as seen in the training videos she sent us regularly. Seeing his tail wag and obey her commands melted my heart as I knew Maggie was someone special and we made the best decision in selecting her. Our boy needed some extra medical attention with something he had acquired before being sent to Maggie. She was able to take on this extra task with numerous vet appointments. What an adorable business! Sarah has a calming, pleasant manner that put my cat at ease. It is nice that Sarah does house calls, since my cat is most comfortable in his home environment. Sarah is very aware of, respectful towards, and responsive to my cat's reactions to her massage strokes. She didn't try to force anything, and she gave my cat breaks when he wanted them. My cat particularly loved the cheek / behind the ear part of his massage. Sarah also went above and beyond simply massaging my cat - she initiated a great dialogue with me about why my cat could possibly have been acting stressed out lately. She asked if we recently had anyone move in to our neighborhood. The answer was yes. She asked if the new neighbors - who live right across the street - happen to have a dog. They do! She asked if Benjamin Kitty looks out the living room picture windows a lot, windows that look out over the house across the street. The answer to that was yes, too. She said this may be causing Benjamin Kitty stress. I wouldn't even have thought of that! That is very insightful! Sarah has an intake process which you can complete either online prior to the appointment or in-person when she arrives. The intake questions were comprehensive and thorough. Sarah has a way with my cat. I can tell he likes her. I appreciated being able to give my cat a professional pet massage! I am going to have Sarah come back next month! I think the massages will get even better the more Benjamin gets used to Sarah massaging him. Sarah left not long ago, and I have included a photo of my cat post-massage. He seems very relaxed and happy. I highly recommend Sarah if you would like to give your pet a special treat or regular healthful massages. I was willing to give it 2 or 3 tries if my cat wasn't sure about it at first, but my cat was sold after the first 5 minutes of his massage, and so was I.

I just adopted a cat last Saturday…read moreand wanted to share my experience: About a week ago I began my search to adopt a cat- specifically searching for a Russian Blue or mixed. After a few failed attempts to contacts owners through craigslist I landed on adoptapet.com and found an ad for a cat posted by Cats Meow. I did a bit of research on their site and reached out to inquire about 'Maurice'. Michele responded a few short hours later letting me know that the cat was still available, and also mentioned another that may match my search. As they operate on an appointment only basis- we agreed on a 1pm Saturday appointment (2 days later) and everything was set. Michele was a joy to work with and made sure to answer the couple questions I had via email prior to our appointment. I made the drive up from Seattle with my best friend and we were greeted promptly at 1pm when we arrived. The shelter has made home in a beautiful classic house near the shipyards, with a series of rooms and catios (cat patios) allowing many of the cats to roam- while other cats are organized into shut rooms, still allowing them space to roam/eat/relax and socialize. I believe she mentioned that they are currently housing about 30 cats awaiting adoption. Again, Michele was an absolute joy- she was very patient and informative while answering questions and addressing concerns, and made me feel very comfortable as a new cat adopter. I ended up adopting Maurice, and she even graciously allowed me to borrow a crate to take him home, as my cat carrier was a bit too cramped. Maurice had a comfortable 2-hour journey, and has been slowly settling into his new space. Everything worked out well, and I highly recommend Michele and Cats Meow to any and all prospective cat adopters- whether this is your first adoption or not I'm confident in saying you'll have a pleasant experience bringing a new friend home.
