Despite having Winter Payment and Low Income programs in place, I witnessed many neighbors, friends and people at my church struggle and contact Benton PUD to get on a payment program and they would not help their customers out. Amerigas cylinders in Pasco, wa that are being sold on exchange are out of date by up to decade! They refuse to refill old LP tanks, but they are more than happy to continually refill long since expired tanks themselves and then sell at a mark up. Seems like this should be against the law, if the tank is unsafe to use until it is recertified, then Amerigas is knowingly providing unsafe product for sale, gambling their profit will outrun any potential customer injury or death.

Whenever I have needed to close or open accounts the reps I have worked with were very friendly. Benton PUD sends out newsletters to their patrons about the work being done in the area to conserve energy, and in turn lower our costs. Hey, I'm all for that! A couple years ago when the energy saving light bulbs were hitting the market Benton PUD sent everyone a box of them to change them out with the old energy hog bulbs. Very cool! In the focus of conservation I think they could make more of an effort to move to paperless bills and electronic transfers, but I have a feeling they will.
