The staff and the doctor at Cascades chiropractic wellness center are very welcoming and professional. The doctor has an extremely good bedside manner and genuinely seems to care about his patients. I was gifted a groupon for a 90 minute medical massage and a 30 minute infrared session. FIVE STARS for my massage with Kat- it was one of the best massages I've ever had. She said from the beginning not to expect a full body massage and this is exactly what I always wanted- no fluff. Just working out my kinks and only in the specific areas my body needed. I never once had to ask her to go back to a spot or for more pressure. If you are someone with chronic aches in your body, I HIGHLY recommend her. To say the rest of the experience was a disappointment is an understatement. I was booked for a 2:30pm appointment and told to arrive 15 minutes early for paperwork. When I arrived, there was a huge lock on the front glass doors with a note saying the office was closed and would reopen at 3pm. I checked the emails and texts I received to make sure I was there on the right day and time- check. I called- and could hear the phone ringing at the front desk and see nobody behind it. I was able to pull the door open regardless of the lock (the lock was faulty or was not put on properly) and called out for any kind of answer. Eventually somebody came around. The 30 minute infrared session I would not try again. On the paperwork, it mentioned the temperature would be 150+ degrees. At 7 minutes left, the temperature had just reached 142F/61C. It may not have even hit 150 by the time the 30 minute time hit- I never opened the door during the session so there was no possibility of heat escape due to anything I did. I was encouraged to bare my skin so I could benefit from the red light therapy, but the door was left open a crack when the session started so I had to wait for somebody to come back and close the door. With the door already being left open at the start of the session, I did not feel comfortable. The infrared box is positioned in a way where you are completely exposed if the door is opened. The size of the box itself was pretty small- I'm a small person (5'5") and felt cautious trying to move around. I couldn't imagine anyone taller or with a bigger frame being comfortable. I was also not given any protective eyewear. DISCLAIMER- I'm unsure if eyewear was necessary, but it felt like I should've been wearing something considering the brightness of the lights. Lastly, once the timer went off I sat there for a bit. I wasn't given exit instructions, but after a minute I just decided to get out on my own and leave. Before I left, I also noticed my paperwork was just left there in the room haphazardly. I brought it to the front desk before leaving hoping that it would be filed or disposed of properly. read more

Wendy is a Beauty Magician! She always make magic when enhancing my face. I was willing to drive 2 1/2 hours just to follow her to her new practice in Sterling, because no one does cosmetic med spa work like Wendy! She was able to give me a mini-face lift and balance my uneven eyes, add a little perk to them, ...And give me a cute baby gummy lip flip...and mellow out my bunny lines - all with only 30 units of Botox! Bought a groupon for a peel and microderm and LED facial-- I've never had such a short facial in my LIFE. The whole thing (which supposedly was 3 things) barely lasted 20 min. I'd like to say it was false advertising cause 6 mini swipes on only half of my face shouldn't count as a microderm. As soon as I got in, the esthetician was clearly in a hurry. There was no real cleansing or steaming- she just jumped into the peels and honestly, got the exfoliation beads all over my hair. She spent more time trying to get that out of my hair than actually treating/touching my face. And after that, she says 'let me get you some water' and comes in with a paper cup that's ¼ full. This place was a joke. This particular provider was a joke. She ran out of the office while I was paying for the treatment with the receptionist. Nothing screams "I did a half-ass job cause I don't want to be there" than running out of the office before the client. Won't be coming back, and do not recommend their facial services. read more

I don't know how Angie at the front desk does it, but she is always so friendly and helpful every time I have a visit. She is the best. Cute place. Great little coffee bar and snacks down the hall. The first thing I noticed when I walked in to the office was the smell of mildew or mold.. a very distinct smell. The receptionist was friendly and Lisa the massage therapist ( I believe that is her name) gave me one of the best massages of my life. Beats massage envy any day. I think I even fell asleep! Enjoyable massage wise, but maybe get a dehumidifier. I probably will return because the massage was just what I needed. My boyfriend and I had a groupon for a couples massage as a Christmas gift, so we scheduled to come in today. To be honest, I was a little skeptical that this place would be more of a medical office vibe rather than a relaxing spa vibe, but to my surprise, upon entering, it was very nice and spa-like. My massage therapist was Joanna and my boyfriend's therapist was Binta. They took us back immediately and led us into a dim lit room with some soothing music on in the background. After getting undressed and laying down on the heated bed, which felt so nice, Joanna and Binta came in soon after. I requested for my upper body, neck and scalp to be worked on as I didn't really care for my lower half and Joanna did a GREAT job. When I asked her to apply more pressure, she applied just the right amount. Not too hard, not too soft. I didn't want it to end! And then she worked her way up to my scalp and OH MY GOODNESS. I felt like I was going melt. My boyfriend afterwards told me that Binta did an amazing job working on his legs and we both agreed that we would most likely come back. read more

Facial was and awful experience from start to finish. Making the appointment the receptionist on the phone was curt and unfriendly. She gave me a 630pm which was later than i wanted but times were very limited. The day of the appointment I receive 2 calls, the person doing my appointment was asking me to move up the appointment a few hours. I received the message too late, but I confirmed my original appointment. When I got there the curt receptionist is now plain rude. She gave me the wrong paperwork and I ended up waiting 20 more minutes. Finally my "esthetician" invites me in and she is in A HURRY. I could tell she was in a rush!!! She firsts tries to get out of the appointment by asking if I was pregnant. Then she says I have a cold sore and proceeds to tell me all of precautions with having a cold sore while receiving my facial. I told her I didn't have a cold sore but she went over the possible issues of cold sores. I told her again I didn't have a cold sore, so she turned off the lights & looked at my lips under a light and admitted that I DIDNT have a cold sore. The whole time she was speaking so fast and waving her arms, my relaxing facial turned into an uncomfortable, rushed and frantic experience. Even though she admitted I didn't have a cold sore she had given me such an awful first impression, her vibe was so frantic I conceded told her Id reschedule. She actually ARGUED with me when I brought up her saying I had a cold sore. She said "DON'T SAY I CALLED IT A COLD SORE,... just like a bully." At that point, I wanted to leave. The only reason this place is even getting two stars from me is because Dr. Winseck is fantastic, upbeat, friendly, and all around amazing doctor. Other than that, the staff at Cascades Chiropractic has made several customer service faux pas that will prevent me from ever returning. First- the very first time that I went there I was told that they would bill me later because they wanted to see how my insurance would cover the services, which seemed more than fair to me. Then another staff member collects $25 from me. The first staff member told her to give me the money back because of what we had discussed earlier. The second staff member didn't even apologize for taking my money for no reason. For all I know, she might have just pocketed the cash since there wasn't even a service for me to pay for at that time! After that, I had an allergic reaction to the Electric Muscle Stimulation machine so I requested not to have the service. They STILL billed me for it. In fact- when I asked how much these services were going to cost (because I have a deductible to meet and I wanted to keep costs low) they GROSSLY misrepresented the amount I would be charged. I went four times and was quoted about $50 per visit so I expected about $200 MAYBE $300 bill. My Bill is over $400 and includes the charges for Electric Muscle Stimulation that I did not want. After all this, my last visit was on May 17th, the staff called me on May 20th and said they hadn't seen me in a while and when would I be back? They seem like they are constantly trying to book you for appointments (eg: Saying "Will Monday and Wednesday next week work for you?? Instead of just asking you when you would like to visit again!) I'm so dissatisfied with the service solely due to how the staff manages the billing and scheduling. Very poorly managed. Very poorly indeed. read more

3.5 - Now, let's keep in mind this is a chiropractic, not a spa. Wipe any image of a spa out of your head. Out, I say! Out! It's too bad it's not a day spa really, because my massage was all sorts of amazing. I bought a deal on LivingSocial for $49 I received a 1 hour massage and 30 minute detox. Despite not being a day-spa, I will say that they did a pretty great job setting up the massage room - dim lights, soft music, a couple calming pictures, and there was a heating pad in the bed. My masseuse, was amazing, and for being pregnant did a far better job than any non-preggo masseuse I've had. I don't like sissy massages and this was far from it - she had some strong freaking hands! My 30 minute foot detox was more interesting and disgusting than anything else. They have you in the back of the practice, sitting in a chair with your feet in a warm water bath and attached to some machine that measures or regulates something in your body. Basically, you just sit there and watch the water change colors from all the nasty "toxins" in your body - gross. I didn't really notice any changes in my body though (other than my feet feeling incredible soft afterward.) Go back for a massage? Heck yeah! I am usually chalk full of questions and these ladies knew their stuff and gave me helpful information to enhance my brain powers :) read more

My first visit to cascades chiropractic was today. I have really painful muscle knots on shoulders and back.they hurt to the point that I can't simply walk without being in pain. So, my first thought was to find a place to get a massage so hopefully they could be massaged out. Well, i googled massage places in the area and picked the one with the best deal after looking up the companies on yelp. $49 for a first time client who wants a deep tissue or Swedish massage. PERFECT, I thought. Ambience: the "office" is a mixture of a doctors office and a day spa. It's simple but inviting. The actual massage rooms are nice. Soft sounding music playing in a dimly-lit room. Very relaxing. For the most part it was quiet but a few different times I could hear people in the hallway talking... Not a big deal for me but for others it may be. Customer service: I arrived 30 minutes early so I waited I the reception area. The receptionist was very friendly. We talked about what we were both doing or thanksgiving. I love that the customer service was so good. I always look for businesses with friendly and efficient customer service. Massage therapist and the massage: When it was time for my massage, I was called back by the massage therapist. The massage therapist briefed me about what to expect which was nice. I've had professional massages before but not everyone has so it is nice that they tell you what to expect. My massage therapist was very nice and she Made sure I was comfortable. I asked for a Swedish massage with medium pressure. I also mentioned my knots. My massage therapist told me she would concentrate on specific knot areas but of course will massage my whole body. I got exactly what I asked for: a Medium pressure massage! I loved the massage! Afterthought: although the massage was great, I would have enjoyed it more if I didn't have muscle knots. The massage didn't really do anything for my painful knots. That is probably my fault. I should have asked my massage therapist to only concentrate on my back and shoulders and not massage my entire body. Bottom line: great place to get a massage. Should try at least once. read more

I got a living social deal for the massage and foot detox and I have to agree with pretty much everything Chunnu said in her review. Trying to find the place was a bit confusing and I did try to call them to find out exactly where it was but had to leave a message. I didn't hear back but found it soon afterwards. When I got to the center, there was no one there at the reception. A few of the people who worked there did see me come in, sitting there, and looking around for someone but no one came for the longest time to help out. They did help other people out though which was a bit strange. The place does not look like a spa and it's not intended to be one so if you are looking for the spa type feel, you may as well not come. After someone finally came by, they did get me in for my massage which was great! The masseuse did a great job and really worked at trying to get the knots in my back and neck out. The 30 minute foot detox was interesting. I wish they had done the detox first since the massage was more relaxing. As mentioned they do put you in the back of the practice, sitting in a massage chair with your feet in the warm water bath. There's some sort of machine that regulates your body and removes the toxins. The color is kind of nasty but it's interesting watching the color change. I don't feel any different so I can't say if it did anything. I would maybe go back for a massage if it were closer and the prices are pretty cheap. read more

I have always had a wonderful experience at Cascades Chiropractic. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes. I can make a chiropractic appointment the same day I call. It only took a little over a week to see an improvement in the frequency and intensity of my headaches. They also just hired a nurse that is going to help me with my nutrition! I have thoroughly enjoyed all of my experiences at Cascades Chiropractic and highly recommend it. I witnessed the woman come in who has reviewed the groupon as a "scam". She was appallingly rude, slamming her fists against the counter and shouting. Reception stayed friendly the entirety of the time trying to work with this woman. The woman started screaming before even hearing out what reception had to say. I bought a Groupon for a 60 minutes Swedish massage for my fiancée birthday because of the positive reviews I read. We went for her massage and it was one of the worst massage experience she have had. The masseuse barely apply any pressure and when my fiancée asked her to apply a little harder, masseuse said she have to pay more. Sale tactic. We have had many messages in the past (Swedish, Therapeutic, Deep Tissue, Thai to name a few) to know the difference. Masseuse did not look professional. Needless to say we will not be back to this business or recommend it to anyone of our friends and family. A waste of time. read more

I have been to a dozen or more chiropractors over the years and Cascades is one i have been loyal to for 15 or so years. Dr. Winseck has certain unique techniques to alleviate hip, knee and foot pain that no one else has ever used. I am certain that these unique techniques have saved me years of pain and likely also prevented hip or knee surgery. I have had chronic back pain since about the age of 18. I started seeing Jason Winseck upon hearing a recommendation from a friend at work. After doing some ceiling drywall work on my house I was down for about 2 weeks with a sore back. Very bad! Finally dragged myself to cascades chiropractic as pain meds and muscle relaxers were not cutting it. After 2 days of adjustments I was improving greatly. I began seeing Dr. Winseck when I needed, which was about 2 times a month. My problem got worse around the age of 33 and I couldn't get relief even with chiropractic care. It was actually Jason Winseck who was very instrumental in getting me into have an MRI done on my lower back. Then I seeked out Dr. Hope who performed a Laminectomy to fix a herniated disk. I still see Dr. Winseck a few times a year and I owe a great deal to Dr. Winseck for helping me get my back fixed. At one point of my care here, I was in financial duress with my dogs surgery and my back was taking a beating as I had to lift my dog daily for his recovery of an ACL repair. He weighs 85 lbs. Dr Winseck and his office waived my co pay until I had myself and my dog on our feet. I cannot tell you enough about Dr. Winseck's personal care. read more

WARNING!!!! BE VERY CAUTIOUS ABOUT LETTING A CHIROPRACTOR MANIPULATE YOUR NECK First of all, I selected Cascades Chiropractic specifically for Dr Winseck based on good reviews. I was having neck pain and a persistent migraine so I figured I'd give chiropractics a shot. When I made my appointment, I confirmed that it would be with him. But they actually booked me with Dr Brower. My experience with him was not pleasant. He was very awkward and didn't really explain much of what he was doing/why he was doing it. After my appointment I had a really really bad headache. I triple checked that my next appointment would be with Dr Winseck and that one went much better. He was more gentle, explained everything he was doing and brought out a spine model to explain his treatment plan. I didn't feel any relief after this appointment, but no headache this time. He said I should expect to start seeing results after 3 or 4 adjustments so I made a third appt....with Dr Winseck again or so I thought. I showed up to my third appointment to find that I'd be with Dr Brower again. I wasn't happy about it but figured I'd give him another shot. Once again, I got a horrible headache right after my appt. The headache lasted all night and prevented me from going to work the next day. Then a few times that day I experienced vertigo where it felt like the room was violently spinning around me. After happening a few times, I went to the ER. They gave me some meds for motion sickness and my migraine and sent me home. The next day, I had a few more episodes of vertigo but I decided to just rest and hope it goes away. But I woke up the following morning dizzier than ever, extremely nauseous, half my body was numb, and I couldn't walk because I had absolutely no balance. Rushed to the ER, was admitted to the hospital, and they found a Vertebral Artery Dissection (VAD). Every single nurse and dr that saw me during my 30 hour hospital stay said NEVER GO TO A CHIROPRACTOR, especially for your neck. I now face a 6 month recovery and have been out of work for a week so far. I have to use a walker to get around, I can barely see because my eyes are spinning from the dizziness, and need my husband to help me with pretty much everything. I am lucky it didn't result in a stroke but that's still a possibility. Side note - on the intake forms they ask how much your copay should be with your insurance...I put $20 but they charged me $40 for the first two visits. I confirmed with my insurance that it should be $20 and brought it up at the my third appointment. They said they'd call my insurance and get it sorted. A week later, I called Cascades Chiropractic and they still hadn't called my insurance or taken any steps to refund me the overage. Once I mentioned my VAD, the Dr immediately said they'd mail me a check for $20. Hmm...I wonder why...Now if only they'd cover my hospital bills, numerous dr visits, prescriptions, and salary I won't be getting while I recover read more

I have found Dr. Winseck and his staff to be nothing but professional and helpful throughout my 9 years of being a patient. I have had general back pain/neck pain, jammed elbow, 2 fractured ribs (LOVE the K Laser for this) and a fractured foot; all of which Dr.W has been extremely knowledgeable in treating! I have never felt pressured to have a service or schedule future appointments...the reasons why I avoided chiropractic care in the past. 3.5 STARS Tip to find the office: If you are facing the front of TJ Max (meaning your face is pointed towards the front), the office will be a couple of stores down on your left hand side. It will have a big red "Chiropractor" sign above it. My personal experience: I got a $28 Livingsocial deal for a '60-Minute Infrared Sauna Wrap with Aromatherapy' here. The experience overall was positive. I arrived around 3 pm when my appointment was actually at 4. The office wasn't *officially* open until 3:30 pm, according to the receptionist, but she worked me into her schedule and got me choosing my scent for the aromatherapy and into the infrared sauna wrap in no time. Her name was Angie by the way and she was very nice and accommodating. The sauna wrap was very cocoon-like and got me falling asleep for about 30 minutes or so...and then it all went down hill from there. I woke up sweating like a pig...not that I wasn't before, but now I was actually feeling extremely 'uncomfortably' hot. The fan wasn't on which was a huge mistake on my part. MAKE SURE THE FAN IS ON WHEN YOU GET IN YOUR WRAP. I was staring at that fan for what seems like a decade wishing I could whisper some incantations to make the blades spin. Angie told me that she would check on me every 10 minutes but it felt like forever until I saw her poked in again. The fan didn't alleviate the heat much and that last 10 minutes were the longest. Believe it or not, I had to practice a lot of perseverance and self control to keep myself from breaking out of that wrap. (A note on the aromatherapy aspect of the session, I had a cold so I couldn't smell much of the grounding blend that I had chosen ...Angie recommended the peppermint scent for my stuffy nose, but I don't like minty things so I didn't get much out of the aromatherapy to write about it.) Things that could have been improved: 1) I felt as if the office was understaffed. There were tons of people in the back laying on adjustment tables and getting foot baths and new patients waiting in the front but only 3 staff members visible. Angie was in such a hurry to get certain tasks done that I felt like she wasn't doing her best job. She could have made me feel more comfortable if she wasn't juggling ten million things at the front desk. 2) The towel that I was given at the end of the session was the size of my palm. How can I dry the sweat off of my body with this tiny towel?? Add on to that, the towel wasn't even wetted or chilled. 3) There are grammar errors on the brochures. Please check. Overall, I felt a bit lighter but I believe this was largely due to the water loss. I am telling you...I was literally sweating a river. Currently, I don't see any definitive results as I just ate a mountain of food but I will keep you updated. I came in as a first time patient with a Groupon for a massage. The place looked run down, paint dull and chipped and peeling. Baseboards removed.. carpet dirty, establishment over all is narrow and small. Receptionist was friendly but kinda pushy. My massage therapist Karen Gills was AMAZING, very nice, kind, soft spoken and helpful not to mention she gave a great massage. IF I ever came back it would be only because of her! read more

I went here with a living social deal for an hour long infrared body wrap. I use coupons or discounts pretty often, and am always nervous about receiving different treatment because of it, but was glad that this wasn't the case with CC. Other reviewers are correct to point out that CC is not a spa, but rather a medical office. I read the reviews before going in, so I was pleasantly surprised to be taken to a very spa-like (soft colors, dark room, tranquil music, plants) room for my wrap (I saw the massage area and yes, it is very doctor's office-esque, but this is a doctor's office). I felt very comfortable with the woman who helped me. She was incredibly friendly and cheerful and remarkably concerned about my comfort (what? someone in the service industry concerned about service?!). She helped me pick out a scent for the aromatherapy part of the experience. I went with a lavender scent which is then pumped into the room through some sort of weird humidifier thing. She wrapped my whole body in scented, damp wraps and then I got into a sleeping bag like thing that was the infrared, um, apparatus. I assume. A quiet fan was placed near my face to keep cool. She asked about preferred temperatures (more on the hot side or no?) for the heat sleeping bag and made sure that I had water. She was very attentive and earnest about making sure that I was comfortable. The wrap was advertised as an hour and they didn't skimp on time the way other places tend to with spa packages. I was working as a pre school teacher and the experience was a great stress reliever: you essentially lie in a hot sleeping bag covered in scented oils and lotions with a cool fan on your face, aromatherapy filling the room, soft music, etc. I ended up falling asleep, which was exactly what I needed. They leave you alone for the most part, but check on you every now and then. The procedure is advertised as an effective slimming treatment. I imagine it's similar to how a sauna would work. I wasn't aware of that benefit (I sought it out for the skin benefits) but I'm not complaining that I was able to squeeze into a tight pair of pants a bit more easily than before! For me, the best part was how soft and nicely scented it made my dry, Irish skin. Both effects lasted about a week. Overall, it was a positive experience and I'm glad I went and got to relax after a stressful day. read more
