We know that she is creating a schedule that supports the safety and wellbeing of the residents. The nursing team is more professional and responsive as well. The new people she has hired seem to be more experienced and helpful, and Beatrice makes clear what the different staff and aide roles are responsible for. We appreciate her efforts and the positive impact it is having for our mother and the important business of running a safe and healthy environment.

My opinion is they finally hired the proper director. She is experienced in the operational side and has worked in many areas. She is educated and committed to the residents care. Charlene has a strong sense of family and community. She communicates effectively to family members and staff. She is hands on,and spends quality and sincere time with the residents. She has a keen sense of the residents and staff. What more could one ask for in a director. Charlene's wisdom and inner as well as outer smiles are easily absorbed in the facility and among family members. She is easy to approach. Hopefully she will be recognized for her dedication, authenticity and work ethic. My experience in the past 2 and half years at this facility has been less than average, due to lack of trust with the head of the nursing, and difficulty dealing with corporate( a help line doesnt get me to the proper people, and they remain behind the scenes collecting paychecks , not concerned about the customer thats paying big bucks).

I strongly suspect that they are made up or seriously embellished. My own experience is that the facility is awful in amost all respects. The diaysis team was competent. However, perhaps because I am on dialysis, there was little time for physical rehab. The rehab techs seemed to be satisfied with 20 minutes a day, but they didn't work with me at all on dialysis days (MWF). Nobody worked with me in my room, ever. Sometimes the food was okay, but typically not, and the staff frequently served meals that did not match my choices. Sometimes we didn't have the necessary flatware for them. The nursing assistants were average at best, and a few were absolutely nasty. I even had to have one of them prohibited from "caring" for me. At least management was quick to intervene when called upon. My worst memories involve transportation: I would be returned after dialysis to the space next to the "nurse's" station and have to wait there, unable to transport myself, while the people behind the desk ignored me for up to 45 minutes before someone, presumably the loser, would take me back to my room and lift me into bed. This kind of experience is not limited to Collingswood--every "skilled nursing facility" is basically the same. I have been to four of them so I know. After I left Collingswood, I quickly found out that I was in no condition to manage Daily Activities of Life and had to return to the hospital. Thankfully, I managed to transfer to MedStar-Georgetown hospital, and from there to the National Rehabilitation Hospital in D.C., also a MedStar-associated facility. I was on my feet and walking out of there 11 days later!

Patients were calling out for help but were ignored. Patients lay on their wet beddings with feces and it takes an hour or so before someone will look into it and it is so disgusting that just a week my dughter was checked in to this facility, she ended up having UTI and was brought to the hospital , then was returned only after a week she was sent to emergency and then to ICU for severe constipation which had not moved her bowels for 4 days. It took another 2 days before ICU of a hospital where she was confined got her moved the impaction of her lower intestines ofharderned stools nd gas. She is an ardent advocate for my mom and seniors like my mom. It is a huge blessing to have her as a part of our care team and navigate us through new care situations and challenges as my mom's dementia progress. Thank you, Andrea!

I was instantly comfortable with their management approach, their medical expertise, their wealth of information & resources, their creativity in solving problems, their generosity of time and senior product sourcing, and more. Most importantly, I was truly touched by all of the heart that went into not only meeting my dad, assessing his needs, detailing and implementing some very creative medical and home comfort solutions, and making a very difficult path in life eased by support and compassion at every step. My wonderful dad, who wanted anything BUT around the clock care, was very skeptical at first, and assured us all that he didn't need any help. By the end, he was calling his aide "his buddy," was telling jokes and showing extreme gratitude to the whole team, and not only accepted his need for help, but realized he was getting the best help possible. Also - they literally meet you where you are in the process. I'm super organized and made my own spreadsheets for tracking medicines & daily routines, but Andrea provided invaluable guidance on how to optimize Dad's care from every possible angle. Steve did a home safety inspection before Dad came home to ensure Dad was safe at home. They did so much for us... I cannot recommend Medical Consulting & Management highly enough. Don't wait to call; don't bother researching competitors; there's no one like them in town. Trust me, I did the research; I have the spreadsheets to prove it; I would call them in an instant if I ever needed help for a loved one.
