If you fly in on a domestic flight you can use the car rental stall after leaving from arrivals to take a taxi van to the Oaxaca city center. Getting through security was easy and simple. On the departures side there were only 10 gates and you have to go to the Gate 6/7 area to go through immigration. The area had some convenience stores, coffee shops, mezcal shop, and quick stop stuff. There's also a priority pass lounge but it's outside security closer to the arrivals side so we didn't check it out. I like that it's a small airport so getting through it is fast and doesn't have as many lines or people as other bigger airports.

There are no jetways so you will use stairs to walk in and depart the airport. The flight bank makes the airport very crowded at once. You can access a lounge and the can rentals are on site. There is very little for food offering
