I really wish I would have read the reviews before I chose CAMC for my veterinarian. If caring for your pet is a top priority for you as it is for me; please head my story of caution. Casper Animal Medical Center prioritizes profit first, and animals second. They have poor internal and external communications skills. After patronizing them for the first year of my dogs life, I will never be back. PLEASE do not make the same mistake I did. I felt like a wallet with legs to them. Every single time I walked through that front door I just knew hundreds and hundreds would leave my bank account before I left. It's a shame. I've heard from multiple people around town it used to be the premiere place to take your pet in Casper. They've since changed ownership and the new management runs the place less like an animal hospital and more like a profit-driven wall-street hedge fund. They are shady business people who do not appear to care for ethics, or the law. The only thing I can give them credit for: their two vets do seem competent at their job. Not great, but competent. The bare minimum. Fair being fair, it is the only non-negative I can give the place. When it came to communicating prognosis and diagnosis information with me however, they failed miserably. I picked up my dog after dropping him off sick to the tune of an $880 dollar bill. They ran tests galore, that I never approved, or was asked about. The cheery on top? When I got the call to pickup I was told "your dog is fine." The front desk failed to mention the parasite and 3 different types of bacteria overgrowth my pet had. I only found out about those when I asked why my bill was so high for a healthy animal. So much for giving me the information I needed to care for my pet and administer the 5 medicines they prescribed. On a later date, they tried to deny me access to my pets medical records. I didn't like how I had to show them the law stating it was illegal in order for them to produce these records. I hated the way they made me feel when I had to go in. I never had a pleasant experience at CAMC. I want feel my vet to care for and prioritize my pet instead of profit. If you want a vet or clinic who is in it for the right reasons (their love of helping animals) this is the wrong place to be. Each time I took my pet for a drop-off I singed a waiver so they would contact me if the work they were doing would exceed $500. It did every time. They never checked with me. Not once. Don't agree to pay? They won't release your animal back to you. CAMC overcharges, overprescribes, and over-tests, then holds your beloved lil friend for ransom. One time I went in for a drop off and was told I could pick up at 5:45. When I showed up at 5:40 they had already closed and gone home for the day. The next day when I went to pick up my dog they tried to charge me $60 for an overnight. They claimed they told me 5:30 (they did not). The manager looked at me in the face and called me a liar over $60. This kind of knickle and diming ontop of an already $600 bill was the last straw for me. They are shady business people honestly I wouldn't trust em to sell cow shit to a manure plant. Their front desk staff is bad, to say the least, at conveying accurate and timely information to customers. Their management cares about their paychecks, and will not care about you. In the 4-5 times I went there I never had a gøød experience. I'd actively stop any friends or family members from going here. To you, internet stranger, I implore you to heavily consider this decision. This is your best friend we're talking about. CAMC is the wrong choice. I am 100% confident there are better vets in town. My dog had surgery for cancer at another vet in Glenrock. Apparently when he was neutered years earlier a testicle was left in his abdomen. This testicle turned into cancer. Casper Animal Medical Center performed the original neuter. I am not impressed. read more

I would have given this place 5 stars, but when I got the bill there was 100.00 in extra charges that no one told me about or asked if that was ok. The staff was friendly and professional. The vet was very nice and informative. The clinic was clean and tidy. Update: my puppies were finally delivered and the vet was completely wrong. I ended up with 11 not 5 so I was no more informed then had I never went there and wasted 320.00. This vet is horrible. I hope they actually view this and see how they are screwing people of their hard earned money. read more

Hello All, We had a pretty serious issue today at the Casper animal medical center that I want to share with everyone. My dog had a seizure about three months ago. We brought him in and the vert prescribed a 3ml syringe of Diazepam to be administered if he had another attack. They did a wonderful job with him when we brought him in. There are no complaints with this service. Unfortunately he suffered another attack on 9-30-19. We called and they prescribed another syringe of Diazepam. When we got home my wife noticed that we got two syringes on just 1 ML each. My wife called the vet on 10-1 and they called back on 10-2 indicating that there was an error, the dog actually needed one 3 ML syringe of the drug. I drove over to the vet and they gave me a 3 ML syringe of the drug and told me I had to pay the difference. Again, they told me they "made a mistake". I told them I had to make a second trip out here and they made the mistake prescribing a controlled substance and I should not have to pay for this. The receptionist met with someone out of ear shot and she came back and took ~ 50% off of the bill and said that was the best they could do. I indicated I can write two reviews, one that indicated what actually happened which you are now reading or one indicating what a great job they were doing. They responded with "They don't like threats against their company". This is not a threat, this is a factual representation of what transpired with this company. Looking at Yelp I found several negative reviews. You may want to look at another vet. read more

We've been taking our 5 pets there for about 5 years and they are an amazing group of veterinarians. They have successfully diagnosed conditions other veterinarians misdiagnosed, or missed entirely. Unlike a previous poster (They should consider the Golden Rule), CAMC has been very helpful every time we have asked them for anything, be it providing records or itemized bills and an explanation of procedures, complications and possible additions. Anytime there is a potential increase they have called and discussed it with us prior to executing the treatment. read more

Took my female shiba in to get spayed two years ago. When I asked them for a price range as far as billing was concerned, they said about $160. Perfect! I thought. I also signed off for her to get her hips checked while she was under, cause she was at that age, why not? Brought her in, had it done and they slip me a bill of $400+!!!! Before I paid them, I asked for an itemized receipt, which they fought me on, I found out not only did they charge me $70 EXTRA for my dog being an adult spay, which they should have put in the first quote, they also ran several tests of bloodwork I DIDNT authorize. So begrudgingly I paid my bill, letting them know I would no longer be doing business with them. I asked the receptionist for a copy of my pets files. She told me legally, they didn't have to give them out. Fine. Went to a new vet, Paint Rock Animal Clinic, and they fought with Casper Clinic for 2 MONTHS in order to get my dogs base records. I had to take my dog here for an emergency visit. The staff was very kind and compassionate. They were upfront about the costs of the visit and Dr.Holmes included us (my husband and I) in the decision making of all testing he thought needed and ones that we could wait on as to not 'rack up the bill' unnecessarily. Our pup needed to stay the night and Dr.Holmes was there to check-in on him through the night. We know our pup got the best possible care and needed treatments during a very scary situation. We took our older Lab in because she wouldn't eat. We tried the expensive foods and she just sniffed them. After 4 days of boarding and many tests they told us she had kidney failure and she would eat once we got her home. We foolishly believed them and bought all the expensive foods and when we got her home she refused to eat again, and was in serious discomfort. Sadly we decided to put her down instead of having her suffer more. Over $1000.00 in bills for a 12 YO dog with kidney failure that had almost no chance of recovery. read more

Having moved to the area recently, I needed to board my dogs in a few days. One dog needed his bordetella vaccine updated ASAP. This was the only vet in town that was able to accommodate him. The receptionist was super friendly and accommodating! They opened an appointment first thing in the morning for him. As we entered the facility, we were enthusiastically welcomed by all of the staff. Our encounter with Dr Boyd was friendly and inviting. I am so glad we found this place! Expensive and poor service. We have taken our 2 dogs and 2 cats here for over 2 years. Dr. Fairbanks is the only real positive thing about this clinic but she is quitting. I will credit the clinic, they are pretty clean. But that aside half the receptionist are rude. The head vet, owner and financial manager are all rude and have zero bedside manners. They run it from a business standpoint. They're after their money and have little to no compassion. I will never let dr. Holmes work on another one of my pets. On top of all that they just added a new boarding facility. It's very expensive also. The manager over there is unprofessional, unorganized, and she calls the shots. We had multiple problems with them also. Stay away from casper animal medical center. There are more reputable vets in the area that actually care about animals not just making money read more
