This was one of the smallest airports I've flown in and out of for one of my marathon trips. They have very few flights and they're usually all around the same time between the different airlines. The TSA agents are only there when there are flights to be boarded. All I saw at this airport were small regional jets. We walked on the tarmac when getting off and boarding our plane. One big positive with small airports is that the boarding process is usually very stress-free.

Nice small airport convenient to the freeway. No restaurant but a nice bar. Great service by United Express.

It's sort of sad when your favorite part of a city is leaving it. But even if I hadn't found…read moreCasper less than desirable, this airport might still have been the best experience in town. I'm pretty sure from researching my trip to Casper that this is hyped to be the smallest commercial (hence the international and not governmental now in the name) airport in the country. And now having flown to and from it, I would not dispute the claim. Walking outside the airport, I couldn't help but wonder if this was just a brick church (which might makes sense for some people who are afraid of flying, which I am of little planes) with some runways in the back. This small exterior does hide a full service airport though. Major carriers fly into Casper from Minneapolis, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, and Denver. Almost full-fledged jets (I did take a propeller plane on my return leg), though tiny ones, connect central Wyoming to the rest of the world. Since it is so small, the airport must have lower stress levels. I take a lot of pictures (which some personnel, possibly rightly, see as a security risk). But when I was taking a photo of the single baggage carousel, instead of freaking out, the employee just said, "I already know the caption, 'the world's largest baggage claim.' I understand, I used to work at DIA." And as I was taking a photo of the painted buffalo sculpture in the waiting room outside security, instead of throwing me in handcuffs, the TSA official told me a story about how he witnessed a buffalo gorge and kill a Japanese tourist at Yellowstone. Though looking back, this may have been a security scare tactic, it was still preferrable to the hard treatment. The nice attitude even extends to parking. Less than three hours in the lot is free and arking per day is only $5. That will not buy you an hour where I come from. And, speaking of cars, there are representatives of most major rent-a-car places as this is the largest gateway airport to places like the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. There are some drawbacks to the airport's size though. Security is only open just before a flight departs (though racing to a flight is never necessary and even if you wanted to, you'd run into the back wall in a few seconds). But they do have a full bar to kill time if you're early as as well as a gift shop for last minute Wyoming themed souvenirs. If I ever find myself in Casper again, I might just hang around at the airport. It's not like it closes any earlier than the rest of the city and is almost as interesting.

This airport is almost a cliche'. Its small, everyone is friendly and the only amenity is the bar…read more The beer selection was not bad at all. They had Fat Tire and Alaskan Amber so I was happy. alot of the locals hang out there since it is the ONLY bar in the area. The bartender even has his dog with him. A nice yellow lab hanging out on his pet bed in the corner. All in all it was an average airport experience. The TSA were friendly and patient unlike other big airports. Once past security the only amenity is the bathroom and vending machines. There is only one terminal and one waiting area.

Arrivals vary. But if you're expecting SFO be warned. Large waiting area for both gates but the planes are fifty seaters generally. Play area for the kids. Vending machines past security so bring something. About a forty minute to hour trip to Denver anyway so grab something in Colorado. Probably food at your hotel anyhow and you'll get a beverage service on the plane anyhow. In winter they've had some issues shoveling so that's a pain. But apart from that board and go. Usually a bit bumpy since it can get windy otherwise this airport is a breeze. Security and gate agents are nice. Board and get onto your large airport for your next flight. The alternative is driving hours through WY. Be grateful an airport is local.

Never Never Never fly United Airlines out of this airport. Thursday I had a tickets on the 3 pm…read moreflight to Denver and at 8 pm my plane still had not arrived. This is the NOT the first time this has happened to me. Years ago, my flight from Denver to Casper was grounded overnight because of mechanical problems and all I got was a coupon for 50% off on a hotel room for my inconvenience. Other times, when flying on business, my flights were delayed or cancelled, but not with Delta airlines - they generally ran on time and have nicer planes. The airport personnel are wonderful and patient but they have a tough job dealing with distraught customers. They should get combat pay for dealing with what they have to put up with day in and day out. All they can do is give you United's 800 number. Then when you call it - you get a foreign speaking voice who can't understand you or get your claim correct....... Please don't let your vacation get ruined like mine did - DO NOT FLY UNiTED CASPER To DENVER or DENVER to CASPER!!!!! If you need to go to Denver - rent a car and drive to DIA you'll get there faster than flying!!!!!

I let Rick know which of the 4 vehicles in the fleet I wanted, and what I had in mind, which was a simple 4 stop transfer and he quoted me a reasonable fee. I paid by cc over the phone. The next day Rick was quick to send a text with the driver's name and phone number. He also let me know that the driver (Darian) would be contacting me when he was on his way. I have ridden in a Limo a handful of times, and this was by far the BEST experience! Our driver, Darian is EXTREMELY professional, every step of the way. He sent me a few texts updating me on his progress to my pick-up, because of an accident, there was a small delay. I felt he didn't have to let me know this; however, I appreciated the courtesy. Once he arrived; Darian apologized profusely for the delay which over-all was only 3 minutes. Not a big deal in my mind. He ALWAYS opened the door and even gave instructions for connecting to the Bluetooth radio. As this was an airport pick-up, I had made a poster-board sign with my friends' name and queried Darian if it was out-of-bounds to ask that he head into the airport to locate my friend. He had absolutely no problem with this. Darian was a COMPLETE PROFESSIONAL all the way. Always at the ready, always standing by. I would not only recommend him as a driver but Casper Executive Car and Limousine for ALL your transportation needs. Thank you to Rick, Darian, and the whole crew for going the extra mile to help to make our evening so wonderful.
