El Paso, TX | Cassava Craving a taste of Puerto Rico? This east-side gem serves up authentic, mouthwatering dishes made in-house from scratch, bringing every bite to life with delicious, unforgettable flavor. Everything I had was so yummy, I will definitely be back! You for sure have to try the potato sticks with their special sauce. The whole staff was very friendly and attentive, they made me feel so special. Truly was a great experience! If you're feeling those Puerto Rican vibes, make sure to stop by and check it out! The food is delicious. I can't find a word to explain how good the food is. It is well seasoned and cooked. This has been the best Puerto Rican food Ive had in my life. The service is outstanding. We were greeted and served by a gentleman who was kind enough to explain the menu to us. He also served us samples of their fresh juice. Make sure to try the Parcha juice. It has a great taste. The restaurant is very clean. You can enjoy your food while listening to nice music.

    Coquito...Puerto Rican eggnog

I have yet to try Puerto Rican cuisine! However, I've had coquito aka Puerto Rican egg nog many times during the holidays. My sister is married to a Puerto Rican so she learned how to make it. She doesn't cook that much but she can make a mean coquito. She didn't come home for Christmas this year, unfortunately. I decided to buy coquito from Cassava. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made! The coquito is delicious from here. It's on the sweet and rich side but it was perfect for me. It's non-alcoholic but no biggie, I can add Bacardi (or vodka) if I want. I haven't done that yet. They also have pistachio and Nutella coquito. I've never tasted or heard of those flavors of coquito before! Maybe some other time? Cassava also offers several desserts and bread for sale. There's cooking classes and catering, too. I LOVE tres leches cake (three milks cake) so I knew I had to try theirs. It was also amazing! It was fluffy but not too soggy. It had just the right amount of sweetness to it. I've had many slices of tres leches cake in my life. I would have to say theirs is one of the best I've ever had. I gobbled that bad boy up QUICK! I was so into it, I forgot to take a photo! Lol. Oops! Maybe next time? The coquito runs at $11-14 and the tres leches cake cup was $3.50 or $4. The young lady who was helping me with my order was very nice and friendly. I would definitely consider trying Cassava's food in the near future. You can order it from Uber Eats here on Yelp and/or Doordash. I'm sure their food is just as tasty as their coquito and tres leches cake. Let's continue to support local businesses!

So glad I came across this place. I almost caused an accident doing a U-turn where I probably shouldn't have when I saw the sign.

Go figure that on my 1st full day in El Paso after moving here from Orlando, Florida I find this place not looking for it. And I was craving Quesitos. I drove down the street and when I saw the sign, I did the fastest U-Turn and pulled in. Walking in, I knew it smelled like home. I grew up in Puerto Rico and can alway smell La panadería de la esquina en Carolina. When you walk in you can smell the bread . Heavenly I tell you. I ordered a quesito and a budin. They were both so good and what I needed. Now if I could just find an Alcapurria I would be set . This place is awesome and close to my house

I had the best Cubano sandwich in a long time. I recommend this restaurant if you have ever had a real Cuban sandwich.

It tastes good but too expensive for so small amount. It's like a sample size... it was in shock in how small my plate was.

Small little Mexi-PR fusion cafe on the far east...buzzing…read more I enjoyed a MexiMocha latte. It was a nice little out of the way place that a lot of folks know about. So, it got crowded in the dining room pretty quick. If it weren't so busy or if they cycled through the customers, it would be better. I also got the ham, cheese, and egg sandwich...it was pretty good. No extra ingr dients, just those in the name. Plenty of sandwich...we split two between four peeps. They had a bunch of table games to keep you entertained in case you wanted to hang out I would like to try their guava and other pastries, their Caribbean sandwiches (tripleta, and bistec). Pastries and desserts were looking pretty good. I'd come me back to try, but probably would take it to go. I will try this place out again.

Both were very good and the portions are huge my partner and I should've just shared. I was a little disappointed of their mango tamarindo drink. I thought that it was mango and tamarind(the fruit) mixed together not chamoy and chile(Tajín) in the drink. I wasn't happy and just ordered another and asked if I can have the mango and tamarind without chili and they said yes. The tamarind still has a spice to it which it shouldn't, tamarind is tart and sour. I guess that's where the misconception of Mexican and Puerto Rican terms collide. I would go back but I guess ask next time if the drinks are Puerto Rican terms or in Mexican terms.

When we first pulled up, there were only two cars in the parking lot, so we assumed it was pretty empty inside. It was. There were about 4 people in there. No one checked our ID, or greeted us. The interior was nice and modern looking. The bartender (possibly manager?) approached us and asked if we wanted anything to drink. We didn't, not right away. We just wanted to check it out. As my girl and I sat on the couch for about 5-10 minutes, the bartender came back and told us "You guys can't just sit there. If you're not going to get anything to drink, I'm going to have to ask you guys to leave." So, we left. Not to mention, my girlfriend was working on setting up the app they had, so she could play music requests. But, the bartender just approached us in a rude manner and was pretty straightforward that if you don't pay to buy something to drink, you're gonna get kicked out. So, just keep that in mind guys. We then went to La Mina Bar & Night Club - and they were so much more friendly; didn't force you to buy a drink, either!

But it just opened 3 months ago so we wanted to give it a try. We were chillin and then I'm guessing the guy that owns the club/bar or the manager was like "since you guys aren't buying drinks, I'm going to have to kick you out. You guys can't just sit here." I was baffled. We had just got there like literally for 5 minutes. I've never been kicked out of a bar before for not buying drinks. I just said "okay" and we walked out. I didn't know how to respond or react. We went to another club/bar called La Mina Bar and Night Club. Before we sat down I asked the bartender if he'd kick us out if we didn't order drinks and he said no. I've been to other clubs and even when i didn't buy drinks they never kicked me out. By the way highly recommend La Mina Bar and Night club. The music was amazing and everyone was nice. So keep in mind that in order for you to say at Latin Quarters New York, you have to purchase a beverage or they'll kick you out. Do not recommend Latin Quarters New York.
