La comida Riquísima. Yo pedí Mofongo con Pollo a la Criolla y mi esposo Mofongo con Camarones a la Criolla. Volveremos de Seguro!

This was the chicken chicharons, they were good but not as good as the mangu plate!!

Found this place by accident, dont let looks deceive you! Outside looks meh!! But when u step inside its big spacious clean and very very well decorated. They put some money into this place! Looks like so far the owners are the ones serving and cooking. Everyday they add one mean that is different. They have a select menu but its very good. Service was attentive and nice. If you order from the specials of the day it goes by quick. But if you order a la cart well expect to wait a bit as they cook it to order. Dont pass up the opportunity to try their fresh juices. I had the passion fruit and it was amazing as for "parcha" thats what its called. So far i tried their empenada of beef and chicken bith where good. I have tried the mofongo with shrimp and it was good. I had the rice and bacalao (codfish) also good. But the best thing i have tried is the mangu plate it was soooo good. I would recommend it 100%

Oh my god where have you been the past two and half years!? This place is phenomenal! I was so excited to learn that an authentic Dominican restaurant, owned and operated by Dominican folks, opened in El Paso! (Just too bad it's as I'm about to move out of El Paso). As a Dominican person myself, with lots of chef family members, I can authoritatively say this place is legit, or as youngens say, it's lit! I had the Arroz con Guanduales (rice with pigeon peas): delicious! The rice was done to perfection, not too dry, not too mushy, and was so flavorful I probably ate more than I should have. I had the tostones (green fried plantains) and the maduros (sweet plantains), two of my favorite things in the entire planet. Was perfect. Delicious. And because I HAD to try a signature Dominican dish, I also ate the Mofongo de Ajo (garlic mofongo), a fried-then-mashes-then-stuffed plantain. It was amazing. Hard to describe the dish if you've never had it, but it was delicious. I was so happy to find the place that I ate way too much in one visit. The owner told me they had karaoke on Thursdays, hip-hop and regueaton on Fridays, and Saturdays are Latin nights. I didn't get to experience that but it sounds like great fun! Owner mentioned happy hour, so I got the details: Happy hour from 3p to 9p: $3 margarita, $15 beer bucket (6 cans or 5 bottles), $0.99 tequila shots. As it's a newly opened restaurant, I'm guessing there's only one person in the kitchen, made to order food took a bit of time (but then it's El Paso, that's normal here), the lunch food station looking place was ready made and quick.

After a week long trip of eating flavorless foods my taste buds were having a party eating this food. While I wouldn't call this the best Caribbean food I've ever tasted, I would consider it tasty and worth coming back. The beans were the best part!!! I ordered for take out and the food came out fast.

The restaurant might be called Merengue but the (GOOD but LOUD) music played most (while I was there - for dinner - unfortunately on a non-dance night) seems to be SALSA and Bachata - rather than Merengue Típico. That's fine by me. I liked the choices played - but would have preferred it be a little less loud and that I had come with or had met someone to dance to it with. I came after their daily Happy Hour and had to drive afterward so didn't order alcohol but instead just a virgin pina colada, which was quite good. Rather than get any of their daily specials, I just wanted to try their mofongos - which took them quite a while to prepare and bring. Although it was good, I'd probably get their Mangu the next time instead of a different mofongo choice. When I came in (for my first ever visit), not only was I greeted but the server came up to shake my hand before asking what I'd like to order - which made an impression on me since so few other places do that (even when you are a regular who they recognize). He then asked me if I spoke Spanish or English and I told him both and that he could use either or both. When I was ready to leave, and asked for the bill, he brought it and shook my hand again - before I paid. The dance area (without tables) is not large but the floor is wood and the music (I heard) is good so I would like to come back on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night when others come here to dance.

Living in New Orleans for a few years, I can tell you that The Big Easy does not take their tiki bar game lightly and I've had my fair share of adventures. Although the exterior of the building might be misleading, you can expect a world of Polynesian delight and flavors that will leave your taste buds tingling. A dimly lit environment carefully decorated to theme, shows the intentionality behind The Tiki Room El Paso. I had been to their original location by the courthouse and this is a true 2.0 rebirth of the establishment. Now my fave thing to do at any spot is to ideally sit at the bar to get the full experience. What really stood out to me was the level of commercial kitchen equipment that ensured the kitchen smells and smoke didn't take over the place. It's all in the details. The staff here is super fun and engaging which made it all the better. My friend and I were served by Adam and their service with the food and drink program made it all the five-star experience one hopes to receive. If you're getting a drink or served by Adam then you're in for a delight. I had a zombie drink and the flavors were so well mixed that it was easy to forget how liquored up they were. This drink has a two drink maximum and lemme tell you, later that night it was clear why that is lol. I definitely had a good buzz flowing. My favorite part was the serving presentation which had the cinnamon sparks and flicks of fire. My friend was hungry and kept raving about the pork belly bowl and damn was she right. The pork belly was crispy and juicy with each bite. You can respect the aroma and fresh ingredients including green onions, pineapple, jalapenos, and fried garlic. You have to order one (maybe two) for the table. Take a look around and enjoy the vibes. It's an absolute must.
